Oh I have another question. What are those characters to the left? It looks like a DS game and it has KINGDOM HEARTS in the title. Is it some spin off or a game made by the same team? The characters look like KH characters to me..

He said that it was likely that he wouldn't be pursuing it, but he might've changed his mind.

The block of text you're referring to actually says that the staff of KH in involved the production of the game, I think. The title of the game is Subarashiki Kono Sekai, or "It's a Wonderful World." (Tetsuya Nomura's the character designer.)

Motsy Sep 13, 2006 07:01 PM

Why in god's name would ANYONE want to revisit the CoM battle system?

Amanda Sep 13, 2006 09:53 PM

Maybe a KH2 Final Mix will tweak KH2's atrocious magic system. The only time I didn't regret choosing the staff at the beginning was while doing the Hades Cup. A magic boost lets you be slightly more effective at frying your opponents with magic while staying out of harm's way.

Nifty scan, though. Looks like there might be an expanded KH3 teaser, and--

HOLY CRAP THAT'S COM'S BATTLE SYSTEM. For the love of all that is holy, NO. ;_; It was painful enough in CoM!

Although a remake of CoM with PS2 graphics wouldn't go astray... At least it would make the godawful battle system feel less painful.

CuteChocobo Sep 14, 2006 03:34 AM

Dang photobucket is down at the moment... wil have to see the scan later tonight.

Kairi, what section you want to translate?

Dang, with that small picture of yours... on the top right hand corner said something about they are covering those following games. and FFXIII is in it!! I want that scan too XD and something about FFV (remake?)

*geh* I want to suscribe to that mag now :p

EDIT: okay, I got the bigger scan off the other thread XD Will work on it tonite.

EDIT2:

Thanks!

And I think most of the fans will be depending on fansites to give you the new extras and info...Unless you guys get swapdisk and order the game off playasia or something...

And I pray that the COM system is just a mini game of some sorts... Totally optional PLEASE! I dun wanna play that system again by force!

Blades Of Ice Sep 14, 2006 09:13 PM

Despite Kingdom Hearts being a game oozing with production value, I found the very dark themes and awesome plotline dulled by the prescence of disney. There's times where I was playing through the game just hoping for the next time the game would shift to a serious drama again.

What Kingdom Hearts 2 did well was presenting a very original game idea that held me from begining to end, but I was often left with an empty feeling and far too much distraction with the happy-go-lucky disney world's.

Amanda Sep 19, 2006 02:24 AM

For those of you who don't read VGCats, I direct you to today's comic (KH2 spoilers ahoy!). It's worth a cheap laugh. X)

Nissay Sep 19, 2006 05:11 AM

LMAO, yeah i expected some more chemistry between sora and kairi...it was really disappointing.

Metal Sphere Sep 19, 2006 09:32 AM

Yes, it's true. My goodness, the game was oozing with gay subtext especially the last few hours. I was seriously trying to take Axel's touching goodbye speech seriously but...

Anyways, let me share with you some of the hilarious GAF photoshops of this strip:

Oh, the props should actually go to temp and Snaku over on GAF.

He can't, he's confused and in love with Riku.
Seriously. The one thing I found hilarious about the game was Sora seemed more bent on finding Riku than Kairi. And when he did find Kairi, it wasn't all heartfelt like you thought it was going to be, but when he finds Riku, he gets down on his knees (like a bitch D:) and cries.

The one thing that I really disliked about this game was my party. I seriously, seriously, SERIOUSLY hate Donald and Goofy. I hope KH3 will eliminate them from my party all together.

I am glad that they decided to
Spoiler:

make Riku a playable character during the final battle.

Well, the answer's simple. Sora knew where Kairi was, and that she was safe (at first). But he had no idea where Riku was. Plus you have to take into account
Spoiler:
Riku's appearance, which was a big shock to everyone.
. This is why Sora balled out more when he saw Riku.

Vash Sep 19, 2006 09:12 PM

I highly doubt they'll take Donald and Goofy out of the party. They're a big part of the Disney franchise. In order for SE to make a FF/Disney game they need to use a lot of Disney 'cus their buying Disney's rights (need to put them to use). However, I would like to see them put in more FF. Disney takes up a bit too much of KH, they need to make it half and half (and I'd REALLY like to see a unique, made up world that has areas from FFs 7-12/13 that you could maybe unlock after you beat the game once or beat the Hades Cup -if they bring it back again. Would probably have bosses from various FF games, such as Safer Sephiroth -or w/e the very last Sephy fight was called-, Sin, final FF12 boss, Ultimecia, and w/e the final FF9 boss was. That'd own, come on, admit it. Hope they do that or something like it).

Or he's gay.

japan goes yayaya for yaoi!

Kuhazan Sep 19, 2006 11:18 PM

people bitching about the party? I'd rather the game had been about Roxas... completely... haha

Or rather you finish the game as Sora then complete it as Roxas and or Riku.... haha

I wasn't a fan of the extra bosses being all in one location either... KH1 had them spread across worlds...

Vash Sep 19, 2006 11:37 PM

I know, but they should dedicate a world for all the FFs they incorporate into KH (which so far is FF7, FF8, FF9, and FF10). It should be one world with areas such as, say, Balamb Garden (FF8), Midgar (FF7), Alexandria (FF9), and Zanarkand Ruins (FF10). You'd have to do some exploring, running through each area, picking up weapons/armor that have attributes or names that relate to the FF area you're in. You'd also fight tougher Heartless/Nobodies/whatever new enemy they come up with than in any other world in the game, but each area has different enemies than the next or previous area(s). Then, at the end of the different maps, you'd fight the final boss that corresponds to the FF area you're in. They'd be like mega bosses, all as tough (if not just a bit tougher) as Sephiroth in the past two KHs.

Call me crazy, but I think it's a good idea. I know Nomura said he wasn't likely to do it, but he's changed his mind before (i.e. KH2:Final Mix). Keep in mind I'm picturing this new world for KH3, not KH2:FM.

Because he sure didn't get down on his hands and knees for Kairi's sake. Nope, not once.

KINGDOM HEARTS ANIME!!!

LATEST NEWS
Kingdom Hearts Anime Confirmed? & Final Mix News!
Hey Everyone,

Square Enix sent out there monthly e-magazine last night and within it briefly detailed that there will be Kingdom Hearts Anime.

Moving on, according to FF7.Blog ( http://blog.livedoor.jp/odeko_06/ ), Kingdom Hearts 2: Final Mix will feature a full 3D remake of last years Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories including new cutscenes and apparently, voiceovers.

More information on both products will be shown at the upcoming TGS 2006 (September 22nd - 24th)

Soldier Sep 20, 2006 01:39 PM

Sorry, but I don't buy that. A Kingdom Hearts animation, whether Japanese or American, would be a tough project. If you let Japan handle it, you'll have accurate renderings of Sora, Riku, Kairi and the FF crew, but the Disney characters would suffer as a result. The reverse is true if it were american-made.

I'm going to need more information before I can get excited about it.

Kingdom Hearts Cartoon shown to public at TGS 2006
Posted on 19 Sep 2006 01:09 by Xaldin

Yes everyone, the title does not fool your eyes, Square-Enix released a magazine not too long ago, THEIR magazine, official no rumorish or anything. And it stated that the "Cartoon, Kingdom Hearts will be seen on Portable Comics" and most portable comics normally feature pictures of anime's in Japan, or most times manga, but that's not the point, it also states that it will be shown to the public at the Tokyo Game Show 2006. It's unknown to what they mean by "Cartoon" so we can only wait, and hope!

For the information in your own hands grab this book

http://kh-vids.net/

Looks like its kinda true in a way.

Soldier Sep 20, 2006 01:47 PM

Again, I'll need more info and some pics before I can get truly excited. If I were to guess, this might be a one-shot OVA like Last Order, and will probably not feature any Disney characters (a prequel maybe). Even though Japan's animation talent far exceeds America's, I really don't desire to see an anime-style Donald or Goofy, just as I would never want to see an Americanized Sora or Cloud.

Kairi Li Sep 20, 2006 02:01 PM

Okay, I understand that. We're gonna see something at TGS soon so we'll see, when is it this year?

Also rumours is that COM looking shot is from the PS2 remake of COM. News came from latest Vjump, no scans so far, no news if its on the same disk, on a seperate disk or even sold seperatly. Scans should be up real soon.

Quote:

KH:CoM will be getting a compete PS2 remake and it'll be fully 3D and fully voiced.

It's also confirmed we're really getting new cutscenes of Namine and the Organization in KH2:FM.

If you're wondering, no, I'm not joking. News are from Odeko-san, who was one of the first to bring us KH2:FM news in the first place. ( http://blog.livedoor.jp/odeko_06/ ) If no one puts up scans of the lates V-Jump magazine by tomorrow *eyes Kouli and Niu* I'll gladly do it myself once I buy the magazine tomorrow.
http://boards.gamefaqs.com/gfaqs/gen...topic=30655053

EDIT: Uh oh, it seems that KH-vids mistranslated it and then it got spread out, it is a phone service in Japan, mobile version of the magazine Gan Gan and the KH manga will be on it. The news was misinterpteted and then got spread. So I guess its not a cartoon version of KH

Freddy Krueger Sep 20, 2006 02:14 PM

TGS is in 2 days hehe.

IGN Trailer Preview

Quote:

"The last trailer from Square-Enix's was Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix, which is a remixed version of Kingdom Hearts II (a.k.a the US version) as well as a title called Kingdom Hearts: Re:chain of Memories. As the title suggests, this is a remake of the GBA game of a similar name, but it's been completely redone in 3D. Not only that, but the game will include areas that weren't found in Chain of Memories before. Using an engine based on Kingdom Hearts II, the same card-based combat still applies, but it also includes the button-based combat found in Kingdom Hearts II. Interestingly enough, all of the cutscenes shown during the trailer featured only short appearances from the Disney characters."
