I thought you got pissed off and disconnect everyone when I went after you with Yoshi's final smash and killed off your last life. :tpg:

Haha, come to think of it I got killed too many times by you!

Also, sorry for dropping out early just now. Got a dinner party thing I need to attend to. I will definitely brawl with you guys some more over the weekend!

Slash Mar 14, 2008 11:33 PM

There isn't a chat channel or anything set up for Brawlers..is there?

Wall Feces Mar 14, 2008 11:47 PM

Wolf: My connection was absolute horse shit as you could see. I think I fixed it, though. So, next time... next time... ;)

Check here for Hyrule Castle. This one is pretty well done.

Custom Brawl Stages

And Wolf, which one were you in that battle?

Ah I see, I see. Thats pretty much what I did, cept I put some blocks above the little cave thing since its supposed to be a little tower. Only problem is there's a gap between the cave and the blocks...stupid structure items. So restrictive.

I finally had the chance to play Brawl today. My friend brought it over to my house and we ended up playing until 2:00AM. This game is pretty damn fun. I was just trying out most of the characters. Yoshi's surprisingly good compared to when he was in Melee. Snake's pretty fun to use. Ike's unbelievably strong and Pit's annoying, especially that really stupid deflecting attack (I think it's the side B-attack). After playing for a while, I just stuck with Snake, Yoshi and Ike.

I was asking my sister why you kept falling of ledges XD Yeah, the lag was quite terrible. Well hopefully we can battle next time :3

Chaotic: I said that in an earlier thread, but then again, this thread goes fast. I'm Reno and my sister is Kira.

:tpg: I figured out it was me and decided self-sacrifice was the only way to make the game better. For the greater good ;)

It was retarded, even if I was spectating, if I pushed a button it would start to lag you guys down... It didn't happen when I played Temari, so I wonder if it was a combination of the both of us

Regardless, I changed my network settings so hopefully my connection is better for the next battle.

I figured as much anyway. Choosing Bowser gave that away.

Well, all the unconfirmed friend codes are starting to annoy me, so I've decided I'm just gonna leave my Wii online while I'm asleep for at least a few days. Should clear up that whole "both people need to be online at once to confirm, even if they have already added each other" problem.

Also, figured out how to assign a static IP and make my Wii a DMZ, so homefully mateches will go smoothly if I'm ever awake at the same time as you normal people.

Sakabadger Mar 15, 2008 08:49 AM

My Wii is hooked up via wireless, and I get a sizable amount of lag when playing people CST/EST (though it may have to do with my connection sucking in general). Still, I'm trying to get the best connection possible so here's what I've done so far: assigned the Wii a static IP, made it the DMZ, set the broadcast channel on the router to either 1 or 11, and updated the router's firmware.

My question is: Is there a list of ports that should be forwarded to make the Wii's connection even better? I think I read a string of ports in that GFAQs thread linked earlier in here, but it was kind of a mess of numbers and I didn't really trust it too much. Perhaps someone here has a better list with an explanation of the process to boot?

Animechanic Mar 15, 2008 09:12 AM

I thought the idea of the DMZ was basically that it forwarded all ports, but just to one device on the network. If that's the case then port forwarding in addition to the DMZ would be kind of redundant.

Omnislash124 Mar 15, 2008 09:40 AM

If somebody with a GFWiki account could help me, change my nick to "Omni"

Also, I'm not quite sure how this registration works.

I added a bunch of people, but they all say "Awaiting Registration" except for Chaotic, who has a green circle on the right side of the box. What does that mean?

Wall Feces Mar 15, 2008 09:41 AM

Green circle means he has a good connection. I don't know if I've added you yet. I will do so later on tonight if you'd like!

Omnislash124 Mar 15, 2008 09:56 AM

Hmm....so he has a good connection, but still awaiting registration....

I just finished adding everybody on the Wiki list. The other oddball entry is Identity Crisis's, which instead of saying "Awaiting Registration" says "Offline." I assume this means he's already confirmed it.

That's correct. Anyone who is labeled "awaiting registration" has not registered you yet. I have a bunch of those on my list, too.

Buizel Mar 15, 2008 10:24 AM

Yes, green circle mean your ping with that person is good but blue is even MOAR better!

Sorry to those who posted their FC lately. I can't add you right now because my Friend Roster is full. I'm waiting for my US copy so I can move non-GFF FC there.

Also about last night, I was lagging because my other brother (yes I have two brothers @_@) just came home from who-knows-where and start downloading all his TV shows he missed from the past week. So his torrent was running non-stop (he have his own computer) and I told him to cap his upload and download speed but I doubt he did it. x_x

Freelance Mar 15, 2008 10:40 AM

Okay I got off my butt and added everyone in Wiki. I could've sworn I've added Rollins and Seris before though. Guess I didn't.

There are two people in my list that I don't recognize. Let me know if you're one of these:

John
Tai

I wasn't aware I had to be online at the same time others are online to have FC's confirmed, so I'll leaving mine online for a while.

Kesubei Mar 15, 2008 11:05 AM

I'm going to start adding everyone's FC today, and maybe I'll be able to play some of you guys tonight once I return home. Hope no one hates the Ice Climbers.

Omnislash124 Mar 15, 2008 11:06 AM

Yeah, I'm just going to leave mine on for a day or two for registration. I did just confirm Wolf (or at least Wolf was looking for a game last I checked my roster), so all is good.

Lacerta Mar 15, 2008 11:45 AM

I've never had to be online at the same time to confirm someone (i.e. no more waiting for registration).

However, I have had to be online at the same time for them to be fully registered (updates to their name, their profile, their icon).

There's a difference.

Kai said using the usb network adapter has reduced his lag by a great amount so I'm going to visit Best Buy today and see if buying one will help my nasty lag issues that's keeping me from playing online.

chato Mar 15, 2008 02:12 PM

I added almost everyone on my list. Not bad connection here so my router's good.

Freelance Mar 15, 2008 05:21 PM

Who's gonna join my sister and I tonight to see Totakeke's first performance? See you at 8pm!!!

Yeah it definitely fixed my "dropped connection" issues I was having and even reduced the input lag by a noticeable amount. But that still varies on how many people are brawling with me. One on ones? No lag. Three to four players? You still have that quarter-second to half-second lag input. But I guess that can't be helped since I'm literally a ocean away from most of you guys.

Anyway, if you have 25-30 dollars to toss around I'd consider getting a lan adapter :3.
