Actually, the grassy nook just north of the Resort Area (in the sections around the Battle Tower you can access after defeating becoming Champion) is infested with nothing but Grass and Bug types. They're all around level 50-55, but Fire types have an especially easy time levelling up there, as they all tend to be pretty fast, are resistant to many of the attacks and deal massive damage. My level 40 Rapidash was kicking ass with Ember in that section.

Iron Mountain pretty much sucks for Fire Types.

Final Fantasy Phoneteen Jun 4, 2007 10:43 PM

Oh yeah? I'll definitely keep that in mind then, since I've been pissed about how there hasn't been a good spot to level Fire-types since Eterna Forest way back in the 8-12 level range.

Still have a ways to go until I beat the Elite 4, though, so I'm still stuck with Iron whatever for now. I should just pray for Steelix, I guess.

Chaotic Jun 4, 2007 10:50 PM

Steelix weren't that hard to find in Iron Mountain... It was the first thing I ran into when I met Riley in there.

Crash "Long-Winded Wrong Answer" Landon Jun 5, 2007 12:03 AM

Holy shit.

I have just observed a strange phenomenon. I don't know if it's a glitch or whether I'm lucky.

I'm breeding Murkrow eggs. My Honchkrow is paired with a Skarmory. I'm told the two get along well.

I've been riding my bicycle up and down the long stretch of path between Route 210, down through Solaceon Town and into Route 209, then back again. This seems to be a quick, easy way to hatch eggs, especially with a Magmar in the party. (Flame Body!)

During this time, my Murkrow and Skarmory produced two new eggs. I went and dumped the rest of my team into the computer, then rode up and down some more. Within the next three minutes, I got three more eggs.

It should be noted that, as I'm going up and down, I've been advancing through the Poketch screens, rotating through the sequence until it arrives at the Breeding Watch screen again. As I've done this, most times whenever I get around to the Breeding screen, there's been another egg ready for me.

Is this some kind of glitch, or are my birds just super horny? Either way, I'll have my Jolly/Adamant Murkrow in no time.

RPG Maker Jun 5, 2007 12:05 AM

Certain amount of steps cause your Pokemon to produce an egg; thats how it works.

Final Fantasy Phoneteen Jun 5, 2007 12:43 AM

I think it's a lottery system, where after a certain number of steps the game draws a number that equates to either "egg" or "no egg". If it draws no egg, then you go through that number of steps again and the process repeats.

I know, but they're not frequent enough to make them practical to level off of.

I wonder what the lottery numbers are for all the different types?

There's a lot of Steelix in the beginning of Victory Road as well, they average around level 45.

Must be a ridiculously low number for this pair then. I've just acquired six more eggs.

On the plus side, if anyone wants a Murkrow that knows Drill Peck, let me know. As soon as I get my USB wi-fi adapter, I'll shoot one over.

Oh I was thinking the same thing but several times while I was leveling up I ran into 5 to 8 steelix in a row. So accumulating experience with a traded pokemon plus a lucky egg felt like winning the lottery.

Perhaps it's some kind of glitch or maybe it's the time of day I visit these areas. But damn that's a lot of experience points.

You could just "tap" the touch screen to "refresh" it.

I swear, everyone in the Wi-Fi battle tower has a fucking Garchomp. And the fact I don't understand Japanese doesn't contribute to the fact I don't know what's coming next. T_T

And I doubt that anyone wants to hear my story of catching Beldum.

Just beat Elite Four, so anything that wouldn't kick my ass completely and I'm down.

Well any of you have any funny stories then of your adventures in the game? :p

Only exciting thing that happened to me, not relating to the game, is I fell down a flight of stairs and didn't get hurt. :erm:

RABicle Jun 6, 2007 07:23 AM

So from your multiplayer battles guys what is emerging as killer movesets and strategies? What adjustments have you all had to make? I know I've had to re-wirte my prefered Shedinja moveset as Shadow Ball and Silver Wind are terrible now.

I ask cos you know, another Pokétour is coming to town and the rules have been changed. I'm going to win this time.

^-^ Jun 6, 2007 08:28 AM

No idea. BUT. I have a test moveset for Mr. Mime that I want you guys to look at. I'll post it when I get home.

Well, I wasted two Master Balls trying to catch Beldum. I transferred in a couple from my FireRed. <_<

Freelance Jun 7, 2007 12:18 PM

Yippee!

After two days of glitch free online trading/fighting, I can now safely say that my DS connection problem has fixed itself!

So...I'm now willing to trade my crap Pokémon to anyone who asks. I can breed more Dragon Dancin' Totodiles if you missed the opportunity the first time, and I can send exclusives like Stunkies and Scythers. I got some other crap too like Dunsparces and Torchics and Torkoals and Sevipers and Sandshrews and things. I also have Sapphire and LeafGreen if you want me to catch stuff.

Any takers?

P.S. Don't jinx my connection >_>

^-^ Jun 7, 2007 02:47 PM

I'm just waiting to battle someone.

I'd like to battle with you, but there's something that I need to ask first. Do you have any level preferences, and is there some sort of level cap that automatically adjusts the levels of Pokemon that I've entered much like in the Battle Tower (I've never battled online before)?

I'd like to know if a level cap does exist before I accidentally win a match that I really shouldn't. >.>

Oh, and my friend code should be in the Wiki. I haven't made a new-fangled trainer card yet.

UltimaIchijouji Jun 7, 2007 03:13 PM

I still need starters from the non-DP games and I'm playing right now. So anyone who wants to trade me any Pokemon really, I'll love you.

Also, I have a level 45-55-ish level range for anyone looking for a quick battle.

Freelance Jun 7, 2007 03:22 PM

If you battle online, you can choose from level 30, 50 and 100. Pokémon will be automatically raised/lowered to those levels.

Ultima, I can trade Charmander, Mudkip, Charmander and Torchics.

You listed Charmander twice but I'd be grateful for any of those :D

^-^ Jun 7, 2007 03:37 PM

K, lets do this, Identity Crisis.

Level 100.

Haha, that was awesome. I don't care if I lost, I'm glad I got to play someone.
