I can't fathom Snake's moveset at all, for that matter. He's not in Alaska or the jungles of the Soviet Union anymore. He's dealing with people that have herculean strength, can shoot fireballs, jump inhumanly high, fire powerful beam weapons, copy his abilities, throw giant turnips and even swallow him whole.
What the hell kind of abilities can he possibly have (other than a super attack which, obviously, involves Metal Gear)? I mean, the only one I can think of is a Down+B move in which he sets C4, and it acts like a proximity mine, ruining the shit of any poor fool who walks over it... but I can't think of anything else. |
It's unfortunate Snake can't use any real-life guns. I always figured they could make a "super-deformed", "cutesy" version of the Beretta M9 or SOCOM or USP or something. I dunno, make it look more like a sci-fi blaster than a real gun. Or maybe shoot "bullets" a la Metal Slug, that is, it shoots out "bullet-like projectiles" like the ones you see in the Metal Slug games. You get what I mean, right?
I'll try and whip up a super quick and sketchy animation to demonstrate my idea later unless if it isn't necessary... Well, so far the only things I can imagine Snake doing are CQC attacks, his Punch - Punch - Kick combo, use Stinger Missle Launcher or a Grenade Launcher, lay down a Claymore mine, and summon some kind of Metal Gear as the super attack. |
I dunno why, but you could give him a jetpack for a triple jump/recovery move. (Or a Nikita Missile, and control like Ness, but that would hurt.....)Left+B/Right+B could be a stinger missile. Down+B could be some kind of grenade/C4/explosive. and Regular B would have to be some kind of projectile. It could be a FAMAS that shoots lasers....lol....
|
Ness's PK Thunder doesn't hurt him when he uses it to boost, so maybe a Nikita Missile wouldn't hurt Snake. That's a cool idea though. I just don't like the idea of Snake with a jetpack. He's not fuckin James Bond.
I also like the idea of Down+B to set C4. Up+B could be a Stun Grenade, but that could be easily abused. |

Does anyone have Dreammix TV World Fighters? It was a Japanese game similar to Smash Bros., and Snake was playable.
Here's the official site: http://www.hudson.co.jp/gamenavi/gam...ight/main.html Here is Snake's character page: http://www.hudson.co.jp/gamenavi/gam...hara/snak.html Evidently he has to be unlocked. Here's a video of how he plays: http://www.hudson.co.jp/gamenavi/gam...a/wmv/snak.wmv |
Interesting. It'd be cool if he could do that sort of thing in Smash. Hang from an edge after a recovery and place a mine for the next person to hit. Cheap, but cool.
I like that Big Shell level too. |
Oh man, I want that game. It has Yugo, the guy from Adventure Island, Bomberman AND FUCKING OPTIMUS PRIME.
Serious stuff. |

I love Bomberman's moves too. As for the rest: The eleven confirmed characters in the game, thus far, include Bomberman, Master Takahashi of Adventure Island fame, Microman (from a popular Takara toy line), Optimus Prime, Peachboy from the Momotaro Densetsu games, a pitcher from Powerful Pro Baseball, Super Doll Rika-chan (also from a popular Takara toy line), Simon Belmont, Takao Kinomiya (aka Tyson Granger in the USA) from Beyblade, Twinbee, and Yugo, the werewolf from Bloody Roar. |

I'm pretty sure I saw Megatron in that lineup too. Phallic arm cannon and all.

I like the idea of snake placing Proxy bombs. I love using the item of the proxy bombs as it is.. I would spam the shit out of it..
|
Now that I think about it, the C4 would act more like a remote bomb. Press Down+B to set, Down+B again to detonate it. It does this in addition to acting like a proximity mine, but the explosion is larger when you detonate it and smaller when someone just walks into it.
|
The slower, Metal Slug-esque bullets would probably work to make Snake's guns not so realistic, but it's kinda pointless to talk about that, as it's already been announced that he'll only be using explosives. :/
|
Maybe he uses a combat knife, too.
|
Wouldn't count on it. Snake never used knives, as he's "not a fan of blades," like he says in MGS2. Also, combat knives are just as realistic and violent, if not more, than real guns.
|
Meh, he may as well be punching if he's going to use a knife, it's not like he can do some crazy stab that doesn't look like a sword move. And with the size of a sword, that knife may as well be the size of a finger.
|
His grabs and throws are going to be awesome. They will like break necks and twist limbs into submission.
|
then he will throw dog tags at people from a distance, and put on his stealth camoflage
|
Since I haven't played any Metal Gear Solid games, I'm not familair with his past moves or history, obviously.
But I'm wondering; will his moves, etc., come from only the 'on-Nintendo' Metal Gear Solid games or will some of them come from the Playstation MGS games? My intuition tells me it will be the former of the two, but I can't help but wonder since it's possible to get retards that will say "WTF? Why can't I do ____ that he did in Metal Gear Solid __ on Playstation?" when they play with him in Brawl. |
Maybe one of the mini boss type characters could be the Ninja-killer-1337-sword-skills guy.

an idea for his "Recovery Up+B" Move: He fires a Stinger straight down. I think it's neat, but possibly rife with abuse. |
