Aren't Gnolls demon worshipping chaotic evil miscreants?

Why aren't Gnomes PCs again?

The unmovable stubborn Sep 25, 2008 09:06 AM

They're still trying to find a way to make Gnomes seem like something other than miniature dwarves with a gadget fetish, mostly. (of course, they just recreated the problem with the elf/eladrin thing but that's a separate issue). Gnomes will probably be around in PHBII with the Barbarians and Druids and so on.

Drow are usually evil too, these things aren't set in stone. :(

Bradylama Sep 25, 2008 09:13 AM

I know how fantasy racist this is, but Drow are actually kind of interesting. It also doesn't bode well that all literature dealing with totally not evil Drow is uniformly terrible.

But then again D&D is terrible! =)

The unmovable stubborn Sep 25, 2008 09:25 AM

Terribly fun!

:)

:(

no, nearly all the official setting work is crap, I'll gladly cop to that

Gygax was a creepy old beard and Greenwood is even worse

Sarag Sep 25, 2008 06:45 PM

From where I'm standing, if I hit the wight with my sling will I hit Augumentus / Mots instead?

knkwzrd Sep 25, 2008 06:47 PM

The wight is significantly taller than me. I'm sure you can aim over my head.

The unmovable stubborn Sep 25, 2008 07:23 PM

Allies don't interfere with line of sight, so feel free to just hurl rocks right past them at dangerous speeds

No. Hard Pass. Sep 25, 2008 08:27 PM

RUN AWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!

Sarag Sep 25, 2008 08:47 PM

Oh, also, how far can I move in a turn? My speed is 4, does that mean I can move four squares or only that I'm going to be low in combat initiative?

Bradylama Sep 25, 2008 09:14 PM

You can run which lets you move an extra 2 spaces, but your attack roll suffers and everybody gets combat advantage on you until the next turn.

Also, the technical term for a horde of zombies is a "shuffle." :101:

Actually, that's supposed to be a 5. Sorry about that, no idea why I put 4 down.

But it is your maximum squares/turn (provided you don't sprint), and doesn't relate directly to your initiative.

Animechanic Sep 25, 2008 09:41 PM

Pang is discriminating against the little people.

Also lurker, diagonal movement still counts as one space.

Zergrinch Sep 25, 2008 10:44 PM

Oh, I'm sure lurker's character can piggyback on the fastest one's (Shin) shoulders. No biggie while retreating right? :p

Fluffykitten McGrundlepuss Sep 26, 2008 02:42 AM

I don't think Bob's strong enough for carrying chubby hobbits.

FatsDomino Sep 26, 2008 08:43 AM

This room is about to smell like burning moldy socks. ^5 Shin!

Sarag Sep 26, 2008 08:47 AM

What the hell Zerg, it's already been decided.

I was tempted to use either the Staff of Expansion power to hit everything at once or Acid Arrow to dissolve the fuckers but I find it hard to get past the desire to save up dailies just in case.

Bradylama Sep 26, 2008 01:06 PM

So Pang since when did Soggy and Argumentus get knocked back again?

The unmovable stubborn Sep 26, 2008 01:11 PM

This...

Sarag Sep 28, 2008 08:36 PM

I got busy, my bad.

But while I'm here, how do burst and burst (close) attacks work?

The unmovable stubborn Sep 28, 2008 09:18 PM

Oof.

"A burst starts in an origin square and extends in all directions to a specified number of squares from the origin square.

For example, the cleric power flame strike is a burst 2 within 10 squares of you, which means the power originates in a square up to 10 squares away from you and affects the origin square and every square within 2 squares of it (a 5-square-by-5-square area)."

A CLOSE burst just means that the origin square has to be whatever square you currently occupy. For example, turn undead would effect everything in a 5x5 area with you in the center.

Fluffykitten McGrundlepuss Sep 29, 2008 10:47 AM

You fuckers are totally going to get Bob killed aren't you? I'm not sure that "Wait until the elf is paralysed then run away leaving him to face down ten zombies on his own" is a particularly heroic strategy.

At least do something to distract the wight. :(

knkwzrd Sep 29, 2008 10:57 AM

If it's any consolation we're also leaving the midget.
