Well, he's gonna be busy developing the game and when something of interest (newsworthy) comes up, he'll go and post it up on the site. Nothing to really elaborate here. That's pretty straight-forward if you ask me.

You guys think there's a chance we'll see a trailer or even a playable demo of this game at the upcoming Tokyo Game Show?

When Super Smash Bros. Brawl is completed sometime in 2007, I plan to post more information for you. For right now, though, I need to focus on the development of the actual game.
Of course, if anything newsworthy comes up, I may decide to post some special notices...

Meanwhile, though, I'll just do my best to complete the game.

..... As if updating an html page with a few lines of text is SO MUCH FUCKING WORK.

...Wow that's the same thing I said. Doesn't he have a staff? Is he the only one working on this game?

shadowlink56 Jun 13, 2006 09:20 PM

I guess that means the "update" mentioned earlier about the Ice Climbers, WW Link etc. is indeed bullshit or he'd have posted it on his site. Cutting characters is certainly newsworthy!
Maybe he just doesn't trust staff to not give away every detail. Wouldn't it be hard to work on the game and not spill your beans? It's the single most interesting project out there these days!

I think you're rightabout the rumor.
Ridley would have been a stupid character anyway.
That's like... Playing with Ghoma.
Does anyone have his Email address...I've been looking for it. I can ask him myself.

kuttlas Jun 13, 2006 10:00 PM

I'm sure he'd love it if someone of the internet were to throw his adress around.

If he's not going to update his site, he sure as hell isn't going to answer fanmail.

Oh yeah, while I'm posting, does anyone have Nobuo Uematsu's phone number?

Samus is part of this game, and also a big point of discussion now that she has two forms in the game, so it isn't off topic at all. She was once lovely...

Maybe he's not updating the site because he ran out of newsworthy things to post in the near future? Or maybe he wants to extend the waiting periods in between updates so that the content is fresh up to the game's release? No, these are PREPOSTEROUS suggestions, right?

I used to, but I forgot it and I don't know why anyone would want it. I just called him with a snide comment berating his penis size and hung up. He's likely a bore to talk to.

Are you that pissed? Cause I'm laughing. It was obvious that he wasn't going to update the site after Snake showed up.

Well he made it sound like his reason was because he was to busy. Also, I don't think he can predict the future to know whether or not there will be updates soon.

Damn... I would have thought he would be interesting to talk to.

"Uematsu-san, Ohayoo Gozaimasu."

Well I'm not a huge VG/anime nerd (not that you are) so I don't boast a knowledge of Tokyoese. I don't know why I'd ever wanna talk to him, I don't find his music THAT great.

"Hi Nobuo, what's up?"
"Smashu Buraza no Nippon no Wario wafuto disasta!"
"Oh really? How was that?"
"Tifa-tan"
"Jesus Christ, she got her entire FIST in there?!?!"

Don't be hatin'

They haven't really said much about items in SSBB (much like everythign else). Does anyone think they'll cut any items? I know plenty of people who seem to think that Pokeballs shouldn't be items anymore because "pokemon are gay". If this opinion is shared by a large enough section of the market, do you think Nitendo'll care? would they take them out?

shadowlink56 Jun 14, 2006 08:20 PM

Perhaps you've heard of Freshly-picked Tingle’s Pink-coloured Rupee Land?

No, Nintendo will not care.

immp Jun 14, 2006 09:00 PM

I'm hoping for more custom options and gametypes. I think a "mutant/king of the hill" mode (a la UT2k4) would be fun. I've always wanted to select one character to be giant or small so you can those vs giant battles with your friends. There's tons of things they could do I really hope the expand on that.

Helloween Jun 14, 2006 09:26 PM

What you're describing sounds alot like special melee modes. They had those in SSBM.

Lizardcommando Jun 14, 2006 09:26 PM

I can't really see a King-of-The-Hill type gamemode working properly in a 2D gameplay setting. Let's just take one of the current levels from SSBM, like Termina Bay. Would the "capture point" be randomly spawned or will it always be on that one platform with the house on top? You get what I mean, right?

As far as items go, I hope they add in some new items like maybe a Wii-mote that you can use it as nunchuks :D. Maybe some Rations or even a Cardboard Box from MGS? Or if we get to see Megaman or Megaman X, we can use an E-Tank (Basically acts like the Max Tomato or Heart Container) or even a Sub-Tank, except with the Sub-Tank, it could give back random number of health when you pick it up? So it could either help you alot by recovering all of your health back or barely help you at all by giving only 2 or 3 points of health back?

I like the pokeballs.....they tend to lead to massive chaos like the series is known for. They add a lot of variety of a battle, and they tend to make it more interesting. If the "pokemon is gay" opinion is there, you'd think they wouldn't make the new pokemon game for the Wii (Pokemon Battle Revolution) or the new Pokemon Diamond/Pearl (I think that's what it's called). I think the ball is going to stay...

Nintendo doesn't care about if you like the items or not. Hell if you don't want them, isn't the Item Switch option still there?

Good points all around, and in fact i agree with you on all accounts, i'm just trying to spur some discussion.

Pokeballs are probably my favourite items in the game, especially playing pokebattles. Me and friends turn everything off except pokeballs and make a rule that we can't attack each other, unless it's with a pokeball. Turn the stock up really high, and let the chaos and disorder have messy sex all over the arena.

PsychoJosh Jun 14, 2006 09:45 PM

I keep forgetting that Snake's moronic cardboard box will be in this. What possible use does it have in a game like this?

The only thing I can think of is... well, in the video, Snake's box is in the background. So I think his box enables you to go in the background, which makes you completely invulnerable because the other characters can't interact with you. It's sort of like a really long dodge move.

WolfDemon Jun 14, 2006 11:46 PM

It could be his shield, which would be hilarious.

J-Man Jun 14, 2006 11:46 PM

EDIT: Beaten, damn you Wolf.

Yeah, but I'd like to see more custom features, like being able to mix those modes - Super sudden death giant mode, being able to select a single player to be giant(that way you could set up a 3 friends vs giga bowser kinda fight) so on and so forth. Just put them in as options as opposed to making them different modes. Also allow the player to set how much HP you have in HP mode.

I meant more of the way UT/UT2k4 did it. You'd have one player that is much more powerful than the others and everyone tries to kill him. The one who kills him gets his power and points. I think it was also like..the longer you stayed the "king" the more points you got.

Lizardcommando Jun 15, 2006 12:05 AM

Ooh, ok, I get it now. I was thinking Perfect Dark.

This sounds alot like this game mode in Skulltag called Terminator.

Yoshi used an egg for a shield in SSBM. So, who knows, maybe Snake will use his box...

somedude2387 Jun 15, 2006 09:31 PM

The thing that immp's describing sounds a lot like Juggernaut mode in Halo. One player is heaps more powerful and the person that kills him becomes the juggernaut. It's pretty fun until the Juggernaut gets a rocket launcher and starts camping but yeh good fun.
