Yeah. I don't under why they use abbrevations like that, as if regular firstime upgraders would somehow know.

He just checked and it's not a TA-082 board. So I take it he should update to 2.80, then to 1.50 and then 3.03 OE-C?

EDIT:
Haha, so it is a TA-082 board after all.
Is this safe to use?

^-^ Jan 30, 2007 06:10 PM

I have the TA-08200 Guide me.

Sepharite Jan 30, 2007 06:18 PM

Yup. That TA-082 Easy Downgrader should work perfectly. After all, it's done by the infamous Noobz + DA.

However, if you're still unsure about the instructions, maybe this guide will help: http://forums.maxconsole.net/showthread.php?t=42069

^-^ Jan 30, 2007 06:30 PM

the files aren't on that guide >_>
Also, will this guide work?

Got it now? =P

Scratch that. The guide that Q-chan posted refers to 2.8. Is it set up that the downgrader affects all previous firmware, in that the 2.8-1.5 downgrader would work on a 2.7 firmware PSP with the TA-082 motherboard?

No. You will have to upgrade to 2.8, and from there downgrade to 1.5. You cannot downgrade from certain versions, but you can upgrade to a version that you can downgrade from.

Sometimes you have to go backwards to go forwards, or in this case, forwards to go backwards.

Firmware 3.10 (Sony's Latest) Decrypted already.

Hilarious.

I hope this will bring 3.10 OE-A soon, maybe with a few new tweaks?

I'm just hoping that DJ Max Portable 2 ships before Sony finally gets their act together and creates an uncrackable firmware (never happen plz).

^-^ Jan 30, 2007 10:47 PM

I got it to run smoothly, thanks for all of your help and cooperation!

Wow, that is funny. I almost feel sorry for Sony. They're getting their asses handed to them.

If there's another version of OE I hope it adds more features other than what 3.10 offers. Like I have said before.. I really would love a nethostfs feature or plugin. :/

BIGWORM Jan 31, 2007 06:04 PM

does nethostfs and usbhostfs not work in the latest OEs? I think I got USBHOSTfs working through DH. I need to get a wifi card, that's for sure.

Shonos Jan 31, 2007 06:25 PM

Eh, it's supposed to work through irshell but irshell doesn't really work on OE. I've found nothing else that offers nethostfs like that.

Still being a newbie at this, what exactly are all of the features included with 3.03 OE-C?

-You can run PSP ISOs right from the GAME (memory stick) menu.
-You can run your own PS1 games after conversion.
-You can watch FULL resolution 480x272 video using the regular movie player.
-You're still at the latest firmware so all the latest games work (plus all the Sony features are still included).

These are the main features that I use. Also:

-You theoretically can't brick using OE, because you can always just boot up in Recovery mode (holding R when turning on) and downgrade back to 1.5.

BIGWORM Jan 31, 2007 11:14 PM

Basically. Once you take the plunge and downgrade/upgrade to OE-C, you'll be in the safe zone ESSENTIALLY. Another added feature is the ability to access flash0 and flash1 via USB in Recovery Mode. Exercised with EXTREME CAUTION of course!

just a quick question,
Someone posted this link with a very cheap 4gb stick
http://shop3.outpost.com/product/4950221
Has anybody ordered this with good results or will this site rip me off for some reason o-0.

JazzFlight Feb 1, 2007 01:00 AM

That's not "very cheap". That's normal price for a 4gb pro duo.

Even Amazon lists it as $80 without having to deal with a rebate.
http://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-SDMSPD...&s=electronics

Shenlon Feb 1, 2007 01:02 AM

oh i thought 4gb sticks were around 160 or are those from a different brand? o-0

JazzFlight Feb 1, 2007 01:21 AM

Well they were 300 bucks when they came out (similar to the 1 gig, 2 gig, etc...), then slowly crept down in price as bigger sizes came out.

But yeah, they've been around 80-100 bucks for the past few months.

JackyBoy Feb 2, 2007 11:05 PM

Sigh. I'm guessing I can't go to my local Microplay and ask to rent an unpatched Grand Theft Auto and expect positive results? This close to finally being able to downgrade and I run head first in another wall. I'm still waiting for a downgrader with no but included in the installation process. :(

Why wouldn't you be able to rent it with positive results?

I'm assuming rental places got their copies of LCS back when it first was released, so it'll probably be unpatched.

To check, before running the game, see what version of firmware update is included. If it's 2.00, then you're good. If it's 2.60, then no.

JackyBoy Feb 3, 2007 12:31 AM

Thank you for info Jazz, that was my next question. I'll go with my buddy who is likely friends with the new guys working at Microplay. He wants to get homebrew running on his PSP aswell. We won't even need to rent, they'll just lend us the disc for 5 minutes and we'll update in the store. I was just concerned about bricking from using the wrong version of the game. I'm getting anxious to try all this stuff out, it's driving me nuts heh.

EDIT!:: More questions.

I downloaded the three files provided here. Is this the custom OE-C firmware and will I still need to install OE-A and OE-B beforehand?

Sepharite Feb 3, 2007 11:37 AM

You will need to downgrade back to 1.5 before upgrading to OE-C.

Btw, when you're going to downgrade to 1.5, make sure your battery power is 75%+.

BIGWORM Feb 3, 2007 04:07 PM

most downgraders won't even let you downgrade if your battery is <75%. I'll guarantee the OE upgraders won't let you upgrade if that's the case--it'll spit you out of the updater.

Good luck.

RYU Feb 4, 2007 01:57 AM
