I was rather disapointed in Eko's death. They should have kept him on a little longer and I thought the way they killed him off sucked to.

And I didn't really find it predictable. All these things I thought would happen didn't.

But... Having to wait until February for the conclusion? THAT sucks. D:
I agree with you there, but it will all be worth the wait once the show comes back. =D

You know, if Locke's actions in the hatch would have lead to Eko's death from the hatch explosion, then that would have been something meaningful. Instead, this bs isn't meaningful at all. It's just random violence happening to a main character, perhaps the best character they currently had.

Eko's death signals the downfall of Lost. I honestly really didn't care about anything in the last episode at all, and I have been a rabid Lost fan since day 1. Guess it's Heroes for me!

rockthepartay Nov 11, 2006 09:29 PM

Apparently Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Eko) wanted to be written off the show for awhile now, and that they "sped up" his character development. So, it really isn't the writers fault, and I'm glad they did not botch the character at all.

As for the fall finale, it was pretty good, but the cliffhanger was definitely lacking. It was great seeing Jack taking charge, but I guess I hate Kate so fucking much that I'm disappointed that he is even bothering saving her.

Which brings me to my next point: fuck Kate. Out of everyone on the fucking island, I would trust her the fucking least. I would even trust Michael over her. At least Michael knew what he wanted (save Walt), but Kate simply doesn't know what the fuck she wants. God, I'll take Ana Lucia over Kate any fucking day of the week. I will cheer the day she gets eaten by a polar bear or crushed by the monster.

I'm surprised people liked this episode so much. There really wasn't anything different between this episode and the other episodes that people have been complaining about.

The only time the show has been predictable this season was during Sawyer's flashback. Everything else has been pretty well done thus far.

Season 3 has been pretty solid, I just wish we knew where the fuck everything was headed. In six episodes we still have no idea who the Others are and what the fuck they are doing on the island. The Others are getting boring.

In anycase, I wonder who Jacob is, and what it actually means to be on the list. They've been hinting at it for awhile, so I hope they start developing more on the motives of the Others outside of saving Ben.

Musharraf Nov 12, 2006 10:16 AM

The last episode ("semi final" hehe) was a bit too emotional, I mean, it's pretty obvious that they won't kill him... unless they want to lose those female groupie watchers that are still following the show since Boone died

Um, i missed this bit. Care to fill me in?

Apparently someone who made some kind of list. Some people say it was Goodwin but eh, I don't believe it.

An interesting theory that was i was pointed in the direction of yesterday, regarding Desmond's future seeing ability.

Spoiler:
When the hatch exploded, he was blasted into the future, and returned a few future days later. I'm thinking that maybe the next Desmond centric episode will be his flash back, to when he went forward in time.

I dunno, i need to think about it some more, but it could make sense.

I think it's so easy to dislike her because she is so realistic. She is a well developed character. Especially remembering the title scene and the whole "Monica" incident. How many real women are out there living "fairy tales" pretending they are realities.

Kate is just what happens to those women when they are thrown into a situation where everyone else is pretending too.

hmm so thats why she drugged me....

Jocob.. it must be referring to the orginal list of people to capture, when Eko ended up killing two of them.
We still don't know what they wanted with Walt remember him??? Will Michael return???

Anyone been on IGN, they have the count down of the 50 loose ends lol

This image really intrigues me, its the foot of Colossus of Rhodes. things start to add up when you start looking back at some of the older posts regarding Greek Lengends, gates of hell etc :doggy:

I just thought of something. Maybe Vincent died during the crash, and the monster is now disguising himself as Vincent. Wtf? o_o

Btw, I thought I would mention something about Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje really quickly. Apparently he was extremely difficult to work with. He wouldn't really socialize with the rest of the cast and he was very intense about getting into the character...which is fine, but apparently he also would make changes in his lines without consulting the writers. I really didn't care for Eko. There was a second of, "Oh, that's not fair to kill him off", but after that I was just indifferent. The way they killed him was kind just weird and they could have easily done something else instead of the weird smoke monster made of "nightmares and trees" as it was referred to on SNL last week. LOL.

The hiatus was just annoying at first when it started, but for people like me that have shows they watch religiously it's just a chance to catch up on other things while the anticipation for LOST will slowly build up. BTW, is anyone really watching that Day Break show? ABC, of course, says it's "The biggest hit of the season" and I have a feeling that's overwhelmingly embellished. How has it done in the ratings?

Day Break's most recent episode had a 3.4/5 rating, which is definitely pretty crummy.

For the record, the season's biggest new show so far has to be Heroes.

Helloween Dec 4, 2006 01:29 AM

I've been watching it. I must say it's enjoyable. Tt essentially tries to use a reworked Lost Formula, as in there's a million things all happening at once, and he figures them out one by one as the day repeats itself.

I'll probably finish watching this season, but depending on how it carries itself to the end, whether or not i watch season 2 (if there is one) is up in the air.

I think Day Break is just going to have a set number of episodes (12 or 13). Its ratings don't seem to be particularly amazing enough to garner a full season or a second season.

ArchesFan Dec 5, 2006 12:41 AM

Also the premise for Day Break doesn't really feel like they can stretch it out for more than 1 season. But I guess that's what I thought when I started watching LOST, but they've proved me wrong so far.

I am suprised by this as he seemed like a very likeable guy in the interviews I have seen him do. He didn't appear to be the anti-social type at all.

My I ask what your source is on this information?

ArchesFan Jan 13, 2007 03:55 PM

There was an article in the New York Post about it where he set the record straight because there were rumors floating about why he was killed off (Like the whole fact of the people who get arrested get killed off....Ana Lucia, Libby, Eko.) I'll find it real quick.

Quote:

Akinnuoye-Agbaje, a Buddhist, says that perhaps his acting methods were misinterpreted because he didn't talk to anyone while he was on the set and stayed in character as Eko - even off-camera - until the end of the day.

"The only way I know how to deliver [on set] is to focus; some people can turn it on or off - I'd rather stay in character. There was no socializing. I would start two hours before I went to the set and I wouldn't say any other words other than the ones that I needed to say, that's just the way I work and I think that intensity comes across in my characters.
He insists he wasn't difficult to work with though, but that intensity of character acting could definitely make shooting difficult.

Musharraf Jan 13, 2007 04:02 PM

Eko totally sucked, seriously, almost every episode I wanted him to die. It's not Akinnuwhatever's fault, but Eko was just a completely useless character. Even worse than when Jack started to miserably suck after the first few episodes (he still does, btw)

rockthepartay Jan 14, 2007 11:20 PM

Akinnuoye-Agbaje supposedly came up with the idea of the Jesus stick, so he is okay in my book.

When (if) they finally explain what happened when Desmond turn the key, I hope Eko will make another small appearance. I don't really want a ghost Eko like Boone is to Locke.

I poked it and it made a sad sound Jan 14, 2007 11:25 PM

Now that the thread is back up in rotation, I thought I may point out a few things my friends and I noticed over the duration of the waiting period:

1.) ABC has little "Lost Moments" which are mini-trailers for the upcoming season. There are nine of them, and while you can watch a new one each week on ABC's site, you can just as easily go to YouTube and search "Lost Moments" and get all of them to pop up. ABC likes to inundate their commercials with commercials - I recommend YouTube, if you care.

2.) Did anyone notice this?:

Back in Season 2, I believe, Sayid was interrogated by the CIA. After a friend watched all of S1 and 2, she noticed that Kate's Dad was involved in Sayid's interrogation and the dude who was WITH Desmond in the hatch actually DID the interrogation.

So I guess the guy who brought Desmond to the hatch was actually a former (?) CIA agent.

O, I guess some reminders? Lost is going to be on Wednesdays at 10pm now. It's a bitch, and I don't know why they did that. It comes back on Feb. 7

Because Lost was starting to lose in the ratings to Criminal Minds. That, combined with the fact that they would have been up against American Idol means the ratings could have been pretty low, so they decided to move it to a less competitve timeslot.

I wonder how much it will effect their audience...I know I am not too thrilled about the time slot change. Have you heard anything about the general attitude towards it?

Rockgamer Jan 15, 2007 12:06 AM

Most people don't seem to like it, especially considering how the show first started out at the 8PM slot when it first came out (meaning it's been coming on later and later each season). I guess people who watch both American Idol and Lost like it, but generally most people seem to hate it.
