Space and time. Kingdom Hearts II takes up all of the 4.7 GB capacity of the disk, thus adding stuff is rather difficult.

Don't we all just feel the exact same way?

Well, not me personally, since I chose not to bother with the secret ending in standard on my import. Proud mode all the way!

Shenlon May 6, 2006 07:42 AM

That comic strip was funny ^_^
I'm glad I played proud mode becuase completing all of jiminy's rediculous missions is just too much of a damn hastle.
The game becomes so much easier once you can take on sephiroth anyway, but the tournaments are a different story.

Motsy May 6, 2006 04:46 PM

I'm seriously glad I decided to start on Proud. I tried getting 100% my first time through FFX-2. Got up to 96% before I learned you had to do the 100-level dungeon.

kupomog May 6, 2006 09:42 PM

Yar, Proud mode for the win... Haven't even tried Standard on this game and I don't see much of a reason to now. Proud mode's difficulty level was just right for me, plus, ya know, no need to get 100% on the journal. One of my friends was complaining about how if he played Proud mode he wouldn't be able to take the game in at a relaxing pace and really enjoy it. I did that just fine, don't know what he's complaining about. Save for one or two boss battles, it was hardly stressful.

Kairi Li May 7, 2006 08:58 AM

Unless your friend played Final Mix Proud and thought KH2 had the same difficulty (which it doesnt, FM Proud was a REAL bitch), he has no reason to think that way. I can tell since in KH2 Proud I was able to defeat the last boss at lvl 60, probably even less. FM Proud mode I had to be in my 70's to try to defeat Ansem one on one. Don't even get me started on Sephiroth...

kupomog May 7, 2006 12:04 PM

I don't even think he played the first KH on Expert mode, let alone got his hands on FM. I tried to get him to explain what he was griping about but he just started saying something about how he hates the way Roxas runs. He's such a whiner :tpg:

Kairi Li May 8, 2006 12:21 AM

Roxas runs just like Sora, they are probably programmed the same way.

So his argument really has no basis, seems to me he is kinda a whiner. :P

If he played Proud mode in KH2 and thought that was hard, I hate to see what he will think of FM Proud.

On another topic, since I've beaten the game, I lost alot of motivation to go back to the last save and keep playing, guess I was playing it more for the story despite the improved gameplay, now I prob will start yearning for KH3, sadness...

Mucknuggle May 8, 2006 05:41 AM

I've been playing KHII on Proud mode. It was decently challenging in the beginning when I wasn't used to the game and was quite weak. However, it quickly became rather easy. I have trouble with a fight now and then, but overall, it's not very challenging.

About what level should I be before I take on Sephiroth?

Cirno May 8, 2006 12:32 PM

Depends on your reaction time and overall skill level. I've heard of people managing to beat him in their mid-50s (although I don't know what weapons and armor they had), but most beat him in their 60s or 70s. I can, at level 72, take him down to about 5 life bars without the Ultima Weapon. I use the spell Reflect when he does his normal combo attack to deal a bunch of damage.

Xhaos May 8, 2006 05:34 PM

Sephiroth is actually quite easy, even on Proud Mode, and I have beaten him at level 45 on Proud. I needed Ultima Weapon for MP Haste of course. But the tactics are quite easy. Always stay away from him you can block his combo with the reaction command, since he is stunned slightly after using it, and you can combo him. If he does hit you into the air, Retaliating Slash him. It stops from attacking and lets you combo him instead. Sin Harvest, which is now renamed, can't think of it at the moment, doesn't kill anymore, only knocks to one HP, can be easily prevented. You need high jump lvl 1 at least if I'm not mistaken. If you do get hit with it quickly potion, because he always goes into the combo with the reaction command, and if your quick enough you can block it and combo him yourself. When he powers up evade and strike when he's open.

Sorry if it sounds like a walkthrough.

I unlocked the ending on Standard though, for the challenge. Once you get Poster Duty in under 30 secs, the Hades cup, and Sephiroth out of the way, its really easy. (but time consuming, 40 hours was spent -just- completing Jimini's Journal and hitting lv 99 for "Lucky Lucky")

Though, I want to shoot whoever decided that at the end of the game you can only find 4 Assassins in the ENTIRE GAME. I demand we hunt him down.

But, ah well, I shall play on Proud mode anyway! Expert on KH1 made me want to cry on some bosses (I think one of the NA-specific, later-added in KH:FM bosses gave me a lot of trouble), and I'm hoping at least on KH2 I can get my butt handed to me by a certain few bosses in the latter half the game :O

(Regarding the secret ending)
Spoiler:
That Secret ending was really really cool. Though, one question, in the crossroads where the keyblades were, people claim they see Sora's, Riku's and Mickeys. I swear instead of Sora's or Mickey's I saw the one Kairi was given in TWTNW. Anyone else think the same or am I just going crazy?

Xhaos May 12, 2006 05:05 PM

Spoiler:
I think I saw Kairi's too, and MABYE Sora's and Riku's. But they could have been just replicas. With a graveyard of millions of keyblades there is a chance that Keyblades have doubles, clones. Not so sure right now.

Interrobang May 12, 2006 07:23 PM

Spoiler:
It's Sora's Kingdom Key, Riku's Way to the Dawn, and Mickey's Keyblade.

There is an article on IGN about Final Fantasy XIII, (http://ps3.ign.com/articles/708/708994p1.html) But I found this part quite interesting:

Quote:

Nomura noted that his team is hard at work on the European version of Kingdom Hearts II, so they're only in the art and pre-production phase of development on the PS3 title.
Does this mean there could be exclusive content for the European release of Kingdom hearts 2?
It seems strange that Nomura and his team would still be working on the game after it has already been released in Japan and America.

Inhert May 17, 2006 05:39 PM

probaly for the french dub and the lips synch

Kuhazan May 18, 2006 12:36 AM

So uh is there anything else to fight after you kick Sephiroth's ass on Proud mode? Because I just did that and uh there appears to be nothing else to do but retarded missions.... maybe you get something good for 100% completion on Proud? haha...... not

Kairi Li May 18, 2006 02:03 AM

Kingdom Hearts series had French dubs?

Inhert May 18, 2006 02:10 AM

yep Kingdom hearts was fully translated and dubed(?) in french for the PAL version. And like US almost all disney character have they original french actor.

Kairi Li May 18, 2006 02:15 AM

So does the PAL version also have the original English voices as well? Or is it gonna be seperate? I mean, I doubt the game disk has room for two language options for voices.

Inhert May 18, 2006 02:46 AM

no no I think they only have the french version for France region and probably the english for the rest of Europe (not sure if it has been dub in other language, but i'm sure there's a french version)

Penny Arcade

Mucknuggle May 27, 2006 01:11 PM

I just beat the game. It was pretty fun. I'm really intrigued by the bonus ending clip after the credits. It's pretty obvious that it's going to set up a Kingdom Hearts III - but how is that going to be? Does anybody think that those three figures were Kairi, Rikku and Sora?

KCJ506 Jun 5, 2006 12:05 AM

I just beat Xaldin. Good lord was he hard! This is the first boss that really gave me a hard time. I had Mickey revive me four times before I was finally able to beat him.
