That's honestly why I made sure to get them, since +2 damage won't matter if they can't hit anything, sorry fellas. v:)v

If I said I'd even looked at my character sheet more than twice this whole time I'd be lying.

As a matter of interest, what's the vial of alchemist's fire that Bob's carrying around do?

Also, am I right in thinking that the shield spell I just cast in combat at any time then it triggers if Bob gets hit?

Zergrinch Sep 19, 2008 03:59 AM

eh and here I was thinking you guys were assidiously updating them for any experience, gold, or encumbrances :p

Bradylama Sep 19, 2008 04:03 AM

I was. http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h3...ot-awesome.gif

I figured Pang would let me know if Bob was carrying too much or had gone up a level and with no dice to roll myself, I don't really need more than an idea of what Bob's good at.

Lurker, I should be able to arbitrarily insert your character into what passes for a plot around here during the next day or two. Here's your character packet; take a few minutes to familiarize yourself with your options and ask any questions you might have.

<3

I've been busy at work lately so I'll take a look at this when I get home.

Ah, therein lies the difference between accountants and bookkeepers. A bookkeeper would indeed get fussy about the details and record every slight movement on the sheet. An accountant however takes an average of most of the figures and makes up the specifics to suit their needs. That's why accountants are so much better paid than bookkeepers, you've got to be good at making shit up and tweaking the facts to match your idea of how things should look.

Bookkeepers are mindless automatons, I'm an artist.

I'm lollin' at the chalice's name here. I'm sure it will be very rewarding to obtain.

Sarag Sep 19, 2008 09:02 PM

Just to clarify, an 'encounter' ability is something I can use once per encounter, and 'daily' is once per day, right?

The ritual Animal Messenger seems really useless to me. How did you pick it, do you have some use in mind for it?

Can I improvise sling bullets?

Yup.

I don't see any rational reason why not.

Honestly, most of the 1st level rituals are pretty useless. If you want to swap it for something else before you start, though, here are your options:

Amanuensis
Arcane Mark
Banish Vermin
Brew Potion
Comprehend Language
Fastidiousness
Magic Mouth
Make Whole
Secret Page
Silence
Tenser's Floating Disk
Wizard's Curtain

Fluffykitten McGrundlepuss Sep 20, 2008 10:23 AM

Well Fastidiousness would be helpful if Lurker's character is OCD and Wizard's Curtain would help if she needs to get changed without all the boys peeking.

KOBOLD FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEDOOOOOOOOOOOOOM

Fluffykitten McGrundlepuss Sep 20, 2008 10:38 AM

I'm really tempted to go and free the scary lizard thing before we leave the Kobolds.

Bradylama Sep 20, 2008 11:20 AM

We can do it when we come back with a full party. Can't trust lizardfolk.

Sarag Sep 20, 2008 11:37 AM

I'll swap out with Brew Potion, I guess. Couldn't hurt.

edit: Oh, also, what sort of penalty do you get if your character is old? I'm thinking something around 50ish.

There aren't any mechanical penalties that I can find, so go ahead and be venerable at whim.

Bradylama Sep 21, 2008 02:31 AM

Man I'd really like to initiate some dialogue but I feel like Argumentus is too stupid to perform interrogation.

I guess us serious roleplayers just have a hard time of it.

Sarag Sep 21, 2008 12:52 PM

FINE I'll say something, since my excuse is that I'm not very good at this. :(

Fluffykitten McGrundlepuss Sep 21, 2008 05:24 PM

Ahem.

Sorry for leaving you guys standing around engaging in character development. My DSL's been ridiculously spotty the entire weekend.

Scorching Burst in-a-can, more or less.

The way I'm reading it, it looks like you don't need to actively cast it at all. It just automatically kicks in the first time you get hit in a fight.

Bradylama Sep 21, 2008 08:59 PM

Wishing we had Zeph around to search for traps. :(

Sarag Sep 21, 2008 09:05 PM

But I can heal you after you get your fool ass beat. That's good too, right? :(
