I really think Kate and Sawyers characters have gone to shit, everytime they're on screen I roll and roll my eyes.

Needs more Locke!
ALways more Locke >:i

Majin yami Nov 4, 2006 04:41 PM

Sawyer's still awesome ad Kate was never much of a character to begin with.

Sousuke Nov 4, 2006 06:15 PM

The only downside to this season so far... Is that 3x06 will be the last episode for a while. Or so I hear.

After 2x06, it's 'rumored' that they're taking a break for 12 weeks, with no new eps until January, where they'll go for 17 episodes straight, without breaks. Correct me if I'm wrong, though.

Anyway, I'm really curious to see what Jack does. Will he listen to Ben, or will he follow Juliet's 'lead' on the video tape? Something's telling me that the video tape is all part of Ben's plan though.

First of all it's 3x06, not 2x06.
Secondly, the show's going on hiatus until february after next weeks episode.
Thridly, I also think that the tape is part of Ben's con.

Musharraf Nov 4, 2006 06:41 PM

I bet 3-06s finale will be something like
Spoiler:
Jack operating on Ben, thinking "should I kill him or not"

or something like that.

Whoops, typo. I stand corrected. Post edited. :P

And yeah... the '3.0' finale is probably gonna be a HUGE cliffhanger. Now that J.J. Abrams is back on the project... I can see it being something really nasty.

Antignition Nov 5, 2006 04:34 AM

The 2 new characters kind of remind me of how they picked up Artz in Season 1. Hopefully they'll die in a humorous way like he did (even though he had far more potential than these 2).

Anyway, I am also on the side that Ben is the good guy and Juliette is the bad one, just because she pulls off the "good girl" act TOO well.

Plus, Ben is probably my favorite character in the show now, I'd be pissed if Jack killed him.

Musharraf Nov 5, 2006 06:10 AM

Ben is a premium weirdo, I wouldn't mind if he got killed. Well, actually, there are a lot of other people I'd rather see to be killed, for instance, it would be cool if Jack killed Ben and would be killed as well, then.

Aardark Nov 5, 2006 06:21 AM

I can't imagine Jack would really consider killing Ben, especially since he tried to save the other Other without any hesitation. I would even say that the whole TV shit was just a test to make Jack choose to save him. Though Ben apparently was not too happy that Jack had seen the x-rays, so I dunno, maybe that bitch really wants him dead.

The Furious One Nov 5, 2006 02:57 PM

Why didn't Desmond sense Eko would be in danger!?!

FreeHooker Nov 5, 2006 04:48 PM

Lost has captivated me from the beginning. What an incredible show, and thats with many character flashback interactions going unnoticed. It is a show that you can study frame-by-frame, and find some hidden detail that makes you gasp. I can easily put it up with the best shows on television.

Last week's episode freaked me out. I've always wondered what the **** was going on with that black cloud of smoke, and I couldn't speak a word after it ruined Ecko's shit last Wednesday.

It's too glaringly obvious to me that Juliette's tape is all part of Ben's plan. So then, maybe it's not? Seeing as the goal is to hit you with the most unlikely thing. I overthink it to the point where I don't really know what is going to happen AT ALL.

I'm with the camp that Kate has a weak character. However, I think Sawyer's character is interesting and has big potential.

Favourite character: Locke, Desmond. (Although Desmond has sucked in his small part of Season 3.)

Where's Hurley? :eyebrow:

Technically, Desmond should already know how the last episode of Lost plays out.

But I'm sure one day we'll be given rules as to how his new powers work or something.

Helloween Nov 5, 2006 10:28 PM

Something's telling me he can only predict what's gonna happen that day. The two things he's predicted i.e. Locke's speech, and Claire's tent getting hit by lightning happened in the same day as when he saw them happening.

...but Eko's demise?? Or didnt he care.. racist!! just kidding.

Hehe I was thinking the other day, what if Ben isnt actually the leader and its the girl?!

Hurley is quality, my favourite episode is still Everyone hates Hurley. I just love it when he says Duuuuude! Reminds me of Hogi from Day of The Tenticle!

for those that havent seen it, heres the promos for next episode

Wow. What Jack just pulled in the 'Fall Finale' was good.

But... Having to wait until February for the conclusion? THAT sucks. D:

When he agreed to do the surgery, I was curious what he had up his sleeve. It was kind of obvious he had a plan, but I had no idea where he'd go with it.

He also told Kate to go someplace safe - I wonder if he knows that they're on another island? I wonder if thats even TRUE

Also, what the fuck is up Locke's sleeve? He's going to totally storm the goddamned Others Station in a boat or something. Ahaha, that would be so cool~

Ugh, I know, right? SUCKS ASS. But at least it will be a new episode, every Wednesday until the end of the season. I guess that makes it worth it?

VeryLaZ Nov 8, 2006 10:08 PM

I hate this break the show is taking, but at least when it comes back, that will be it for breaks. I would rather have one big break, then a series of them.

As for the reason Eko died, I like how they at least didnt do it in vein. Giving Locke back his hope and the scripture passage on his staff, made his death seem less of a waste.

Im thinking they discover the smaller island due to this little clue, something about it looking north toward the sky or something. I can see them scaling a mountain to the north and them discovering the smaller island.

soulsteelgray Nov 8, 2006 10:08 PM

Kate's flashback gets a big two thumbs up from me. It was nice to see a flashback that wasn't so boring.

It stinks how the show's going on a break right as it became good. Bleh.

Sousuke Nov 9, 2006 01:59 AM

I don't know about the whole two islands thing. I read a theory somewhere...

Magnetic fields can affect water, right? Well, what if the electromagnetic field of the island, and The Swan station actually caused a slight 'bowl' effect of the water around the island? That would explain why Desmond was never able to sail away from it. And now that the field has been destroyed, [or so they tell us, anyway] the 'bowl' is gone, cause water to flow over a lower part of the island, making it look like two?

I don't know, it's a shot in the dark, but it sorta makes sense.

Musharraf Nov 9, 2006 08:44 AM

Uhh, I dunno about that "cliffhanger". Sure, everything is totally dramatic right now, but it's hard to figure out what everyone's problem is. Jack is starting to be cool, again, I like that.

I didn't like the flashback too much.

Overall, I am kind of disappointed by the first six episodes of this new season. I think the new Battlestar Galactica season is by far much better.

Helloween Nov 9, 2006 03:29 PM

the biggest question running through my mind right now is abou the Swan station, and it's counterparts. Obviously, the Pearl was meant to make us think The Swan was a trick, but in the end we know that it was in fact the Pearl that was the ruse.

So what about all the other stations on the island? What do they do? We know that the Swan served to dissipate the magnet after it reached a dangerous level of magnitude (or whatever) so what were the other "experiments" going on on the island.

I think the Dharma Initiaitive is going to be shaping alot of what's to come in the show, as alot of the weird stuff seems to be connected to the name some how.

I'm guessing Mr. Eyepatch will have some answers for us after the break.

Majin yami Nov 9, 2006 03:36 PM

Jack's gone up in my estimation after last nights episode. Before then he was a bit of a drip, wouldn't do anything particularly 'bad', However, I like him threatening to kill Benry. Definitely makes him more interesting.

Absolutely ecstatic that Kate decided to bonk Sawyer. They're much more suited to each other than Kate is to Jack. However, it was made clear to me in this episode that Kate has strong feelings for Jack. Bugger.

Also, woulda thought that Nathan Fillion would've started to become just a little bit wary of hot women and them offering him things...

Season 3 review (so far) - Lost losing its “lostappeal”

I wrote a review of this seasons 6 episodes which you can read HERE.
My biggest complains are that its gotten to predictable and you can clearly see that the wirtters where out of ideas so I don't expect to much from the other 16 episodes as well:eyebrow:

Majin yami Nov 10, 2006 04:49 PM

So, I'm the only one who hasn't found the show predictable at all, then?

OmagnusPrime Nov 10, 2006 08:34 PM

No, I've not found it predictable. Not really. I've just sat back and enjoyed the ride, and I certainly have enjoyed it so far this season, just annoyed we have to wait until February now.
