Arguing that lag doesn't exist, lmao. Has there ever been a more pointless argument with a more obvious conclusion. Welcome to this planet called Earth.
Team Sharpshooter out. |
Tube summed that up nicely, this is a pointless discussion. I'd appreciate it, Nachos, if you'd keep quiet until you have something decent to say. Otherwise I'll have no choice but to remove you from this thread.

A new update regarding matchmaking. And great news I say. 8 a-side BTB could be very cool and, of course, the reduction in Shitty Snipers is music to mine ears.

"Shotty snipers man veto this shit!" ::shotty snipers again:: "AW WHAT" 16 man BTB is great though. Now we can go into GFF games with 8 instead of trying to cap off our people at 6, or being stuck at 7. |

But you're right. Full GFF parties is nice. Didn't take them all that long to fully update this stuff either. I figured we'd be waiting a little while longer. Awesome. |

The only thing I do not like about this game is that its all about weapon control. If you dont have the good weapons, youre done. Unless your playing custom games w/ certain weapon start of course. Its like if you get into a fight before getting a good weapon its just spray n' pray all the way, I hate that.
This is why I enjoyed halo1 multiplayer the most because everybody started out with the best weapon and was about powerup control which everyone knew the exact second when it would spawn instead which made things less random. Just my $0.02 |
Perosnally I think the assault rifle is pretty awesome. Depends what style of gunfight you're involved in. The shotgun is awesome for ultra-close range skirmishes, but you'll get your arse handed to you if you try to take on someone with an AR with any distance between you. Similarly the battle rifle is brilliant for mid to long range attacks, but you get too close to someone with an AR and they can take advantage of its rate of fire. It's not about weapon control, it's about controlling your weapon.
There's a phrase about poor workmen and tools that comes to mind. |
The AR is pretty much a great weapon to start out with. A full clip can take someone down and at worst, you can knock out their shields and use nades or hope you're close for that beatdown. I mean, it's a lot better than pistol/health whoring in Halo 1.
Has anyone noticed the matchmaking is a bit fucked up? I was playing on my friend's account and he's a Sarge Grade 2. People join and it ends up being like three Majors, one Commander, and mostly Lieutenants on one team and me and Privates on the other team. And of course we get pwned, because the three majors are clanmates/friends and the commander is just plain good. Shotty Sniper is more fun in social. It really sucks for ranked, because everyone's hoping for luck to be on their side. One of my suitemates has a pretty hot hand with a no-scoped sniper rifle, but he practices with it a lot, so I guess that's kind of an exception. |

Either way, yeah, completely agreeing with Devo here. Have to know what weapon is right for the situation. |

Another thing about 2 and 3 is the radar. Takes alot of the fun out of it really. Cant even get rewarded for sneaking up on somebody because of the radar. Back when you played halo1 online thru xbc, if you used radar you were considered a noob. But anyway, anybody that didnt play halo1 competitively would not understand what im talking about because they staretd out playing other people online with halo2. |
If you crouch walk then you don't show up on the radar.

Thing is, everyone has radar so it evens out. I agree it'd be better without it, make sneaking up actually possible without crouching nonsense. However, as Tube said, only way you're going to end up with such a one-sided affair with repsect to weapons is if the game is a one-sided affair (i.e. your team is shit). I've been on plenty of teams where we've mounted comebacks simply by working well together, some of those against teams that had managed to get hold of a lot of the 'power' weapons, as you call them. I still believe it's possible to take someone on in pretty much any situation provided you use your current weapons (be that AR, BR, shotgun, carbine or anything else) and the environment appropriately.
Devo: Yeah it'd be nice if on the big maps you all got BRs, but at least they have a fair few of them near the spawn points (Valhalla has like 4/5 in each base and a couple just outside). Also, unknown: Don't try and act all superior and patronising just because you played Halo 1 multiplayer or whatever the fuck you've done. Big fucking whoop. |
What I don't get is what's with the attitude of people all on here thinking they know more than others? :gonk:

Seems fair, you did play Halo 1 competitively after all. |
