"A few shitty agents"

Well done to whoever did that. I almost choked on my sprite.

JUSTIN WILLIAMS INTENTIONALLY TRIED TO MAKE SAKU KOIVU BLIND......

Ok pal. Seriously though Samsonov is a decent pickup, but he certainly was pretty quiet for the most part in the playoffs. Could he have 30+ next season? Perhaps, but I'm gonna have to agree with you and doubt it.

Hahaha!

I agree that the Habs forum is full of "Fans" that have no clue what objectivity is. Anyway, I don't think Huet is a bad goaltender but I think that, like most goalies, his confident is fragile, in this case, because of the Montreal fans that put too much pressure on the team or on a certain player to make the team succeed. As I said earlier, he's going to have to get is A game going if the Canadiens want to succeed this, which I think they won't. The scenario from last year will probably repeat itself; They'll push really hard to get into the playoffs and fail miserably because of poor confidence in themselves. Last playoffs was a fiasco after Koivu's eye injury. Saku was not playing that good but they still managed to win the 2 first games. And then, he gets injured, the fans cry, and the team enters playoff ending cold streak of loss. Shows you how much confidence and depth the team has.

Anyway, I'm glad you agree with me on that Samsonov bet because, like you, I based my reasonning behind his poor performance on the regular season last year. Even if he does better than last year, I don't think he can top the 30 goal mark.

Looks like Malkin will be a Pen next season. TSN is reporting that Malkin is exercising his two-week option that allows him to walk away from his contract with his Russian team.

http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=174392&hubname=

I like how he's at an UNDISCLOSED location in the US. Gonchar keepin him locked up in the basement prolly.

Wojo Aug 16, 2006 07:08 PM

Well now it seems TSN says that he was never in the US or Canada but he was in Europe the whole time.

However they say he will be in the US in the next 24 hours and they are publically going to speak with the press about what all went down.

That would have been the first positive contribution Gonchar had made to the team in a long time. On a more serious note, this is great news. I'm really excited to see him in action, and hopefully in Pittsburgh for years to come.

Dopefish Aug 18, 2006 11:45 AM

According to the Boston Globe, he has been in LA practicing with guys like Glen Murray, Chris Simon and Rob Blake.

Hockey drama FTW.

Wojo Aug 18, 2006 01:40 PM

Yup hes in the states now which is awesome.

Next step is to get him a contract with the Pens.

Wojo Aug 29, 2006 01:29 PM

Well there hasn't been much hockey news lately but this just came in.

http://tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=175685&hubname=nhl

J.P. Dumont is now a Predator. Now we'll have to see if any other of the remaining free agents get signed. Like Anson Carter and his stupid agent demanding 3 mil a year.

SABRESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS SSSSS

Well he should help the Preds out in their struggle in the Central division, aka their struggle against the Red Wings.

Who knows the Blues/BHawks/Columbus might not completely suck this season

I still wanna know where Anson Carter ends up. He's running out of time so we'll know before too long.

also this message goes out to fire + ice you need to join GFFHL 07 or else

Edit: Canes just resigned David Tanabe after the Bruins declined to pick up the 1.2 mil 1 year contract he won in arbitration.

I'm not too sure how I feel about this, considering we have a very solid D core with Wesley, Hedican, Wallin, Kaberle, Commodore, and Tverdovsky. I know Kaberle may need surgery that he's trying to avoid so I suppose the signing may be for insurance purposes.

I think that is good enough news for me! I'm going to break out my ava sig combo.

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS

Now if we can just get a new arena, all will be right with the world!

Or else what? I know I'd be awful, I always make terrible choices. Regardless, how would I go about doing so?

Well it's nice to have a break from hearing about Crosby with all this hype around Malkin, I certainly hope he can live up to expectations.

Just go into the thread it explains everything there. Seriously we need people badly.

http://www.nhl.com/news/2006/09/281882.html

THE ISLANDERS HAVE GONE INSANE FOLKS.

Lets sign an average goalie until he is 40. Worst move in the history of sports. Got to love Diepetro if you are in his shoes. Hilarious and it has been the laughing stock of Buffalo radio all day. They actually called up TSN or whatever and asked them if the front news page online was a joke.

I guess it really shows the good general managers. I mean even Darcy Regeir knows not to sign Ryan Miller for more then three years at this time.

TheKnightOfNee Sep 12, 2006 03:21 PM

WOW

What the hell is wrong with the Islanders?

Mortuary Sep 12, 2006 03:37 PM

Dude, the Islanders GM is a nutcase. I yhought that under the new NHL's salary cap, long-term contracts would be gone. I guess I got prooved wrong.

Grundlefield Earth Sep 12, 2006 03:44 PM

But isn't he Garth Snow. GAAAAAAAAARRRTH SNOW.

BucPride Sep 12, 2006 09:16 PM

The Islanders can look forward to mediocre goaltending for years to come! Hurray!

DragoonKain Sep 13, 2006 02:45 AM

Keith Primeau is going to announce his retirement in the next few days and Gagne signed an extension on monday with the Flyers. 5 years/26 mil.

Gonna miss you Preemz :(

Ronz Sep 13, 2006 10:55 AM

Guys i'd just like to announce that I just signed a 20-year deal with the New York Islanders to be their stick boy for $500 million dollars.

Here's what Islanders owner Charles Wang had to say about me:

Quote:

"Ronz was a clear cut choice from the beginning. His commitment to the game and his internet reputation really push him to the top."
Garth Snow also held a press conference earlier to discuss my signing.

Quote:

Who the fuck made me the GM anyway?
Seriously though what the hell is this guy thinking. I think DiPietro certainly has potential, but what if he fails to live up to it? No team is going to pick up that contract. He pretty much IS untradeable now.

YO PITTSBURGH MIKE HERE Sep 13, 2006 07:11 PM

Malkin and Gonchar are having dinner at my friends house as we speak. So jealous right now.

Fucking rich ass Commies.

Holy hell thats awesome. Hopefully your friend took pictures and such.

YO PITTSBURGH MIKE HERE Sep 13, 2006 07:26 PM

Yeah, I'm hoping so. They're good friends with Gonchar (for some reason), and apparently Malkin is staying with him for the time being. I would kill for a dinner with someone like that.

BucPride Sep 13, 2006 10:06 PM

You should have gone over to your friends house and been like "Oh hey man, whats up? OH HEY IS THAT EVGENI MALKIN? *Invites self in*
