I got the game today. It's certainly something to get used to, with simple commands and yet several stats to use and abuse (I counted 26(!)). It's not addicting, but it's certainly fun. I'm hoping to get further into the game tonight.

Anyone working on the soundtrack yet?

The game is quite interesting. Boss battles are fairly rough thus far, but I guess that's to make up for the rather easy gameplay for the rest of the game.

I just got it today as well. I like it. It's very different from what I (and just about everyone else) expected - it's not Earthbound and it's not in any way like it (I actually saw more of a similarity to Secret of Evermore) but it's definitely good.

It seems like they found a good way to mix the quirks of a JRPG with the freedom and character development of a western RPG. Music's good too.

Also, has anyone figured out what the Mochi sticker does? I can't seem to find a use for it.

Played more. It is a Western RPG in JRPG form. I mean, 26 stats, customizeable, mission/item retrieval based... yeah, it's like a handheld Oblivion.

But I like it. I've figured out how close it is to another game, so maybe it might be a bit easier.

Mochi sticker: You have to play with him when your character goes to sleep. Thing is, just playing with objects doesn't work/increase his damage. Rather, you need to slowly horizontally stroke his face until you see the big happy sign, then poke him repeatedly REALLY QUICKLY until he gets back up. Builds up damage incredibly quickly, but I have no idea how to damage more than one foe.

Something fascinating: you can get girlfriends in this game.

If you're really clever, you can get all four of them in your bed ahhehehehehehehe.

I love the game. I still can't believe it has "Attack it's weakpoint for massive damage." That just cracked me up. Wish the boss was a crab, though. Haha..
