Wow, now that you point it out the Flask has a lot of problems. Let's just assume that it's meant to duplicate the Dragonborn Dragon Breath power, so you'd take one minor to drink and store and then another minor to unleash the blast.
This would be vs. Reflex, which this broken-ass item also fails to specify. |
Am I really up next to play? This means I need to read a bunch of shit. Point me to what that shit is. Wow I waited a long time.
But you already played before, once... There shouldn't be any significant changes compared to last time, except for the dice rolling maybe.
If you're looking for races and stuff, you can download the books from the first post of this thread. As for which race is in which book, refer to the first post in the Magic Missile thread. Anyway, here's a partial list (I know there's an assassin class in the Character Builder, but for the life of me I can't find it anywhere in the books.) The first Player's Handbook, as well as the book containing the race and class you're gonna use, is all you need to read. Player's Handbook Races: Dragonborn, Dwarf, Eladrin, Elf, Half-Elf, Halfling, Human, Tiefling Classes: Cleric, Fighter, Paladin, Ranger, Rogue, Warlock, Warlord Player's Handbook 2 Races: Deva, Gnome, Goliath, Half-Orc, Longtooth Shifter, Razorclaw Shifter Classes: Avenger, Barbarian, Bard, Druid, Invoker, Shaman, Sorceror, Warden Player's Handbook 3 Races: Githzerai, Minotaur, Shardmind, Wilden Classes: Ardent, Battlemind, Monk, Psion, Runepriest, Seeker Rules on creating Hybrid class combinations of all types are also in this handbook. Zeph, the basic rules are the same as when you played last time. People tend to roll their own dice now but there's certainly no need to have quite the same grasp of the rules as Zerg has.
Jesus, Zerg. Scare the boy away, why don't you. Do you know where all that shit can ALSO be found? In The Character Builder. The age of bringing your bookshelf to the game table is over, thank God.
(Zerg's "grasp of the rules" is pretty questionable, since he needs me to clarify them about thrice daily) |
You just read the list without reading the paragraph that came before
Besides! I took most of it from your Magic Missile post! You totally started it. And yea Shin, you overemphasize my understanding of the rules. The day we can have a battle where I don't ask Pang a single question, is the day I will claim sufficient grasp! |
I am assuming I should prepare a character and read the current story backwards to some degree. Just asking for some specifics in this area.
I have no intention of preparing one in 2014 when my turn rolls around. Just tell Pang you want some frog dude with psychic powers and he'll provide something I'm sure.
well I figured, but just in case he refuses to frog me to size....
Yeah, I'll still build characters for people who don't want to install shit / do research, but there's always that question of leveling up. Still I guess if you can trust me for one thing you can trust me for the other.
What kind of specifics can I hit you up with, anyways? Because yeah, looks like a replacement might be in the making pretty soonlike with 1 PC only interested in saving his own ass and another one in a perpetual coma. Of course, I've said this before. Additional Spam: Damn, Skills, notwithstanding that I asked you to stop bailing him out that's a little premature |
I'm tempted to roll for him right NOW to avoid waiting again.
I made the post but will leave it in limbo to see if he's going to step up for once. Edit: At this point it has less to do with bailing out Acer and more to do with "I want to take a turn before friday" |

First of all, Cal's just as effective 15 squares away as he is in 3 squares. Second, he's not built for melee. Not only has he low HP and few healing surges, he's also quite squishy. Keeping away and out of harm preserves party healing resources which is better used for frontline defenders. Third, he's just had a nova turn. All tapped out of encounters. Fourth, he's not too happy about the callousness of the halfling. Fifth, he's still grieving and won't be powergaming for five turns. I totally rolled for it. (I mean eh, why bother optimizing rounds to inflict maximum damage when your allies don't.) Sixth, I'm still exploring whether Cal can try athletics to climb to the amphitheater's higher levels from the outside, where it's safer to do so than from the inside. Finally, he's still bummed that he was dropped into the encounter on the front line all lined up where the enemy controller can drop a nice area attack on everyone at once at the beginning of the battle, when he explicitly stipulated that he'd rather bring up the rear. :) ___ I was about to point out that Geoff in fact obstructs at least 3 out of 4 lines you can draw between the seer and Garrmondo, thus providing superior cover. But it seems +14 against reflex, plus a high roll of 16, is just too high to surmount :( |

("Bringing up the rear" is fine, but these maps are finitely large and sometimes "bringing up the rear" would just mean shoving everyone else forward to make room for this theoretical "rear") |
A +1 to hit won't make or break an attack :(
'Sides, I like to think Prime Shot is for those Melee rangers rather than the archers. Surely you don't expect me to get into enemies' faces and take OAs for every single attack? :( Also, I would like to invoke the target clause of Fey Switch. "Willing" ally. I'm not willing. |
Yes, but then again, Rule 3.
A ruling made to save time! I'm not wasting time by immediately registering my objection :)
Pang already told me that I don't have to follow that detail when I chose that ability. Neener neener.
Man, why do you have to go and ruin my carefully-crafted combat advantage from concealment against the Hulk, huh? Why don't you just prone the lot of them with Tundra Wind :(
If you want concealment against the Hulk then .
What a piece of work is a horse! How noble in reason! how infinite in faculty! in form, in moving, how express and admirable! in action how like an angel! in apprehension how like a god! the beauty of the world! the paragon of animals!
Ah, steeds, steeds, what steeds! Has the whirlwind a home in your manes? Is there a sensitive ear, alert as a flame, in your every fiber? Hearing the familiar song from above, all in one accord you strain your bronze chests and, hooves barely touching the ground, turn into straight lines cleaving the air, and all inspired by God it rushes on!
When I bestride Denny, I soar, I am a hawk: he trots the air; the earth sings when he touches it; the basest horn of his hoof is more musical than the pipe of Hermes. |
Don't worry Zerg, now you can provide combat advantage by flanking instead and I'm sure you'll be able to steal another horse easily enough.
And attack him with what exactly? Cripple punch? :3:
Try to pick his pockets, he might have a magic sword in one of them.
I don't think he's wearing any clothes. :(
