The point may be moot, as Hawkeye's 24 hours are up. Araes may now attack, and he'll have to attack Rockgamer at least once.

Rockgamer May 29, 2009 08:29 PM

Because apparently there is no such thing as failed attacks anymore.

And Frank seems to find himself more powerful than anyone else actually thinks he is if that's the thought process he's using. Because it has nothing to do about getting revenge for my fallen cave buddy, you dirty traitor.

Ballpark Frank May 29, 2009 08:52 PM

Traitor he says! He who crushed the likes of Plarom, knkwzrd, Krelen, and Yeldarb! A traitor to you may very well be a Hero to the likes of Africa, tyrant. Spit your poisoned words at me, your barbaric acts of violence against Africa's brother's will be your undoing.

Araes May 29, 2009 09:02 PM

Leave that to Araes, since he currently only has Rock to worry about.
Appreciate how I'm being volunteered to fall on my sword.

Attacking Burkina Faso (and failing)

And how well that would have gone. I can only laugh at 1/10 success rates. Obviously a non-entity in this game. Might as well just hand my turn GP to the nearby Warlord.

Ballpark Frank May 29, 2009 09:20 PM

Well. Time to put my money where my mouth is.

Charge into Sudan!

And follow through directly into Egypt.

Ah, Egypt again!

Eritrea is the next target.

Eritrea again.

I suppose I used my energy boost, by the way. Lost count. That leave me one more attack.

Guess where? Eritrea.

Tanks will roll into Libya.

And newly puchased Tanks will roll into Djibouti and Somalia[/b] whilst I also purchase, and use, another Energy Boost.

With it I shall attack Tunisia, twice.

A poor showing by the faithful in Green, to be sure, but nonetheless, we have done our part in vanquishing the dark menace. It's up to you now, nutty.

Not so bad, really. You prevented his warlord status and did some substantial damage, so good work. Now it's my turn.

Attacking Mozambique x2, Madagascar, and Mauritius.

Time to roll out my special Aquatic Tanks and conquer Mauritius and Seychelles.

Throw off your shackles, Africans, and welcome your liberators!

http://nuttyturnip.googlepages.com/blackwily.jpg
Your move, Black Dr. Wily with a skin condition.

Rockgamer May 29, 2009 11:43 PM

Starting off with Chad.

Hittin' up the CAR next.

Congo is next on my radar.

Using my energy boost.

Tanks on Sao Tome & Prinsipe.

And I guess I'll take a chance on an energy boost and attack Gabon.

And let's see how the fight for Equatorial Guinea comes out.

Tanks into the DRC.

Using the energy boost to attack Rwanda.

Eh, I'll buy two tanks and take over Libya and Sudan.

Ballpark Frank May 30, 2009 12:32 PM

Ha, and that proves it. Mumbo jumbo bullshit about caring about perceived treachery goes out the window when he sees a chance to put yet another soul to the fire.

The Plane Is A Tiger May 30, 2009 01:20 PM

Avenging me doesn't mean throwing away all sense of strategy in the name of bloodlust. Even the ruler of Africa needs to get money for his bling somehow.

Rockgamer May 30, 2009 01:32 PM

Seriously, why leave another person around who's a potential threat when I can just get rid of him and gain items and gil in the process? I wouldn't have been able to off you either way, so I might as well go about attacking you in the most beneficial way possible.

And this especially laughable coming from you Frank, since you were willing to do the same thing to your own ally.

nuttyturnip May 31, 2009 12:59 AM

Not that Araes would have done anything, but his 24 hours are up. Frank can go now.

Is everyone ok with ending this game in 3 rounds (this one, plus 2 more)?

Araes May 31, 2009 02:56 AM

Been a rough while, however, I'll take my turn if that's fine, as Frank hasn't gone yet.

Holy crap, after only 3 attacks, I succeeded in winning a battle. I proceed to kill every native inhabitant of Burkina Faso and salt the earth with their teeth.

Two in a row? My word. Ghana as well. Take that neutral countries.

The Plane Is A Tiger May 31, 2009 02:59 AM

My god, Burkina Faso's impenetrable defenses have fallen at last!

Ballpark Frank May 31, 2009 01:24 PM

Ethiopia first. Again.

Sudan.

Libya next.

Purchase and use an Energy Boost.

Attack Chad.

Follow through into Niger.

Once more, the evil Doctor's aspirations for Warlord status have been foiled by the brave men donning green, this has truly been a glorious offensive against evil.

nuttyturnip May 31, 2009 02:26 PM

Excellent indeed. And since I'm a Warlord, I'll take 3 gil from Frank (for a good cause) and 5 gil from Rockgamer.

The peoples of the Democratic Republic of the Congo welcome their true leader, along with the citizens of the Central African Republic and Zambia.

I too shall purchase an Energy Boost, and use it to attack Malawi and the Congo.

Southern Africa is nearly free of the dark doctor's taint. Rockgamer now faces the might of two powerful Warlords, and Africa shall be fully liberated in time for Kwanzaa.

Rockgamer May 31, 2009 05:47 PM

Looks like nutty has turned out to be the real threat. He'd rather ally himself with his brother's killer, and I don't think the Africans would be pleased by this.

First attack on the CAR.

Well that didn't turn out too well.

nuttyturnip May 31, 2009 06:53 PM

Aww, that's too bad. Now Rockgamer is being ravaged by the tiniest, pinkest Warlord ever.

Araes Jun 1, 2009 06:09 PM

Realize I just slipped past 24h. I'm on and aware of my turn, just trying to figure out what I want to do. Turn Taken.

Well, crap, this could go real bad, but:

Attacking Benin (loss, won)
Attacking Nigeria (loss, won)

Buy Use:

Tanks to Togo, Chad

Rockgamer, you had me trapped, and could cut me out of Warlord easily. As a peace offering I'll give you my hard fought gains at Burkina Faso if you want it so that we're even.

Rockgamer Jun 1, 2009 06:56 PM

I accept it.

nuttyturnip Jun 1, 2009 07:01 PM

In the past, we've had a rule that you must trade countries 1 for 1, i.e., Araes can't just give Rockgamer a country without receiving one from Rockgamer in return. If he could do that, he could just give Rockgamer his entire collection and hand him the win.

I realize this isn't spelled out in the current rules, so I don't have solid ground to enforce it, but it is in the wiki. If I remember correctly, it had something to do with a move Zergrinch tried (and really, aren't most of our rules a result of Zergrinch?)

Araes Jun 1, 2009 07:09 PM

Since that was pretty vague, and its not in the rules for the thread, is that a "don't do it again" and its now added to the rules, or is it "give the country back"?

nuttyturnip Jun 1, 2009 07:13 PM

It's more of a "give the country back", since Rockgamer should know better. Still, I'm not exactly impartial, so I won't force the issue.

Araes Jun 1, 2009 07:18 PM

Well, if nobody's going to push the issue, then I'm just going to let it sit, move on, and remember not to do that in the future, as Rock apparently decided I'm not worth it at the moment. In the end, it is something of a waste for me, as I lost two good attacks trying to get through Benin to the outside world.

Edit: Also, I'm not really sure why the rule would matter anyhow. If I wanted to just let someone win, I'd team up, coordinate attacks, and then let them attack me without retaliating until the game was over.

nuttyturnip Jun 1, 2009 07:32 PM

Fair enough.

Sorry, but I just have to dispute this part of your statement. Like Araes, I checked the rules to make sure it wasn't there (it wasn't, and I never thought to check the wiki, which the first post doesn't even allude to). And while I've probably played in more games than Araes has, don't forget that I haven't participated in every single game (this is maybe my sixth game overall), so I don't know the intricacies of every past game up to this point (especially if it's something Zerg-related).

So I'll definitely take note of this for the future, but I see no fault in what we did.
