That's kind of unavoidable, considering that Quick Reply doesn't reload the whole page now.

Unless I do some Javascript DOM hacking or something, but that's a bit unnecessary.

YO PITTSBURGH MIKE HERE Mar 3, 2006 12:35 AM

Quick reply is incredibly fast, thanks to this, though. Very nice job. I'm very impressed, and I'm eagerly awaiting the return of ChocoJournal. Any ETA on that?

Inhert Mar 3, 2006 01:14 AM

just a question: Is the restriction about sig gone?

for a sig maker it can befun because you can do anything now for sig, but as a user I don't want to see some wallpaper in sig, like there is now (well they ar enot wallpaper but they are king of big >.>)

But it can be (and was) easier.

Why would the restriction on sigs be gone?

Schadenfreude Mar 3, 2006 01:49 AM

I don't know if this belongs here or not, but whenever I go to the main index page of GFF it nearly always hangs my browser (Firefox) for at least 1-2 seconds. Problem on my end?

Bigblah Mar 3, 2006 02:17 AM

It might be due to the gigantic list of names under "Total members that have visited the forum today". I've turned it off for the moment, does it improve performance?

Free.User Mar 3, 2006 02:29 AM

Oh, please keep it off. It was un-important.

Yes, it does. A lot. Keep it turned off, please?

Franky Mikey Mar 3, 2006 04:42 AM

Quick reply rocks. But now we need its counterpart: quick delete.

It was :XBOX: and extended the main forum page by at least half.

I don't see why anybody would want to know if a person has been online today. Isn't that what their profile tells you? "Blah was last online September 23rd, 2001 @ 5:32 PM" helps the people who are wondering when Blah user was last online, but a endless chain of users probably doesn't get used.

Peter Mar 3, 2006 05:29 AM

Being able to see the start of a post after doing a search is really nice, since it allowes you to quickly see if it's relevant to your search or not.

I'd also like to see the return of "who quoted me?"

Son of Wiseness Mar 3, 2006 06:30 AM

We need Chocosig back.

Double Post:
I haven't heard anyone say we need Spell Check back. But we do.

Fixed that for you. Being a foreign would definatly (<--- See?) benefit from ChocoSpell, but I would much more like the forum being back in almost the way it was before the Great Crash©.
And as far as I can see, you can download some kind of spelling thing by clicking the http://www.gamingforce.com/forums/im...r/spelling.gif-picture in the reply box.

As for Chocohost, why not just use www.photobucket.com ?

As for me, the only thing I really crave is the Chocojournal back, but as this is high on bobo's To-do-list, I really just am seeing what's happening.

That's technically a vb2 feature, not a new implemetation.

It'd be nice if we could have the higher posts per page option back; I miss being able to view 100 posts per page >_>

Grawl Mar 3, 2006 04:31 PM

Can it be possible to add a report-button for your own posts too? On the odd occasion I post in the wrong forum and want it to get moved - in which case I use the report function.

You should probably thank the Jelsoft developers for implimenting AJAX into vB3.5

[Edit]
Where are my big titles? Any admin with style access can do this.

Moon Mar 3, 2006 07:36 PM

I'm seconding the request for the "Who am I a Buddy of" feature. That was a rather interesting feature.

BlueMikey Mar 3, 2006 08:17 PM

LeHah mentioned this in another thread, but I want to make sure it is here on the official list: the icon on the threads pages that indicates you are subscribed to the thread needs to be turned on.

It works for me...

The icon shows up just fine for me.

The little chocobo icon thing that used to be at the top of all my tabs in firefox isn't there anymore. I kinda liked it since when I had pages from outside of GFF open I could tell which were from here without reading subjects.

YO PITTSBURGH MIKE HERE Mar 3, 2006 10:11 PM

I'm asking, again, where the user rating system went. I enjoyed this, and thought it was interesting to get feedback from other users.

BlueMikey Mar 3, 2006 10:40 PM

Hmm, I dunno what happened. I logged on just now and saw that the icons were back and said "Hey! Someone fixed it!" but then I see that no one did anything. What the hell. ;_;
