Gotta love LSU. I can't wait until they play college teams so they can bottom out in the standings.

Slash Oct 11, 2008 10:24 PM

Well, we know everything going to get shaken up so I'm making some very very early predictions

Spoiler:
1 - Texas
2 - Alabama
3 - Penn St.
4 - USC
5 - Texas Tech
6 - Florida
7 - BYU
8 - Oklahoma
9 - LSU
10 - Missouri

SuperSonic Oct 11, 2008 10:37 PM

Texas Tech managed to get lucky in the end. They score the first touchdown in OT and have their extra point blocked. Nebraska's QB tried to make a play but ended up throwing an interception and ending the ball game.

I'm pissed that I didn't get to see the Texas vs. Oklahoma game. ESPN kept scrolling down at the bottom: If you live here, here, or here...you can get the game on ESPN360.com. Three places in the world where ABC wasn't broadcasting the game, and I had to be living in one of them. What did they show instead? Rutgers vs. Cincinnati from the Big East Network.

LSU shouldn't even be in the top 10 after this game. If they don't go down to at least 13 or 14 after this game, then something is very wrong with the polls.

For once, I agree with you.

I've not been able to watch a game in 3 weeks, for various reasons, and apparently Auburn has been even more terrible than usual during those three weeks. I hope they figure out that the point of the sport is to not be terrible, at least before they play Alabama.

SuperSonic Oct 14, 2008 11:57 PM

I'm actually surprised because I've always seen Auburn as a tough team to beat. However, the last three games ended really close for them.

Oh, and AP Top 25 poll looks good:

Spoiler:

1. Texas (39) 6-0 1,599
2. Alabama (26) 6-0 1,582
3. Penn State 7-0 1,492

5. Florida 5-1 1,284
6. USC 4-1 1,247

10. Georgia 5-1 1,081
11. Missouri 5-1 984

69-0 Trojans! Soixante neuf. lol

Looks like it will be another upset week. TCU beating BYU, Michigan is up against Penn State, and Ole Miss trailing by 4 against Alabama.

EDIT: Crap. Looks like Ole Miss couldn't pull it off.

Come on Michigan. What happened? The first half you were kicking ass.

Fight on! And beat the wildcats!

Rich Rod didn't make adjustments for the 2nd half, but Paterno did. Did anyone see that injury that happened to the Oklahoma player today? The way his arm bent and twisted was just sick!

I would hope Penn State would hop over Alabama in the polls tomorrow. What I'm really looking forward to is Texas Tech's schedule. Their next 4 games are all against ranked teams, including current #1 ranked Texas. If they can pull that off, I don't think anyone could stop them.

Edit 10/19/08: First BCS Standings will be revealed on Fox NFL Post Game Show.

Top Twenty BCS ranked teams:

#1 Texas
#2 Alabama
#3 Penn State
#4 Oklahoma
#5 USC
#6 Oklahoma State

#11 Utah
#12 Boise State
#13 LSU
#14 TCU

Good lord, I can't believe Texas Tech almost blew that game. Also, first time I've seen two unsportsmanlike penalties resulting in Texas Tech kicking off from the 7 and a half yard line.

Congrats to Texas Tech though. Way to pull it out in the end.

Also, anyone happen to see the game winning play for Purdue against Michigan? Freaking beautiful hook and lateral for the TD.

To quote Bobby Knight's prediction: "Michigan needs to win this game, or else their stadium is going to explode."

Slash Dec 3, 2008 02:04 AM

What in the hell happened to LSU?

SuperSonic Dec 3, 2008 03:13 AM

I could be asking the same question to a lot of other teams, Texas Tech in particular. I honestly thought they'd go all the way after defeating Texas (and I still consider that to be the best game I've seen this year), and then they go and get raped by Oklahoma.

As far as LSU goes, I'll give them this: their first three losses were all to ranked teams. They managed to give the #1 team in the nation some trouble and managed to send it into overtime so I applaud them for their efforts there. However, after last year it's no surprise that I view LSU as overrated and maybe that was finally realized by the rest of the country this year. Who am I kidding, the only reason I considered LSU overrated is because of the BCS rankings.

Another team I'd have to ask "What in the hell happened?" would have to be Michigan. We all know the answer to that: Rich Rodriguez. I feel sorry for the Wolverine fans because of what happened to them this year. I'll be surprised if he keeps his job up there. The commentators say things like "Give him time to recruit" and "Michigan has no talent for Rich to work with", however the fact is that Michigan isn't even going to a bowl this year and the Wolverine fans are pissed.

Slash Dec 3, 2008 03:27 AM

Well, I'm definitely going to be keeping a stronger eye (if there is such a thing) on Oregon. Chip Kelly will be replacing Bellotti as HC and If you've seen Kelly's offense...its scary awesome. Some of the plays during the Beavers/Ducks civil war were beautiful.

So what are ya'll seeing. Oklahoma vs. Florida for the NC game?

russ Dec 4, 2008 09:37 AM

Whichever SEC team survives Saturday, which I suspect will be Florida, will win the big game in January. Luckily for Big Ten fans, they won't be doing it against OSU for the third straight year.

Slash Jan 1, 2009 12:55 AM

It was nice to see LSU actually end the season on an awesome note.

And who else saw the Oregon St./Pitt game. That was just...b-a-d....
