I used to fear bald, big eyed aliens coming inside from the window at night when lying in bed.

Despite how progressive I'm unintentionally sounding, I hate light.

By that I mean I'm disturbed by overly-illuminated indoor areas. Intense fluorescent lighting agitates me to no end.

I think you're pretty justified about being afraid of those things. This is a thread about irrational fears.

Here's another one. I'm terrified that my house/apartment will burn down while I'm not home. I go away for an afternoon, and come back to a smoldering pile of ash, with firefighters going 'hay guess what ur house exploded sucks to be you'

And I don't like aggressive toilets. The one that are really loud when you flush them, they always unnerve me.

I'm afraid of accidentally killing people. Like if holding a knife I will have to be real concentrated so that I'm sure that I don't trip and fall on someone, stabbing them in the process. ALWAYS when I get a dangerous object in my hand I'm just afraid that I might accidentally hurt someone. Sure, I can control the fear and still use the object in whatever I'm about to do but I just can't get it out of my mind.

And well I'm kind of afraid of cutting myself with a knife or getting stabbed by sharp objects.

I fear dogs even it's the puppy...I don't hate it, in fact I enjoy watching it and feel that it cute....anyway ....if it start moving toward me, my leg will start run off automatically, lol.

I terrible fear to ignition things even matches also effect me, my hand will be wet when I've to lit it up. (It's so hard for me, sometimes I have to lit up alcohol lamp in lab and it freak me out....once I've to ask the janitor around there to lit up for me, luckily she were there to help me :p)

For a long time I was afraid of the shadow people from Ghost. For a while I was convinced that such people existed.

Then I found out that I was black and my fear escalated.

I'm afraid of the tables on the main page being stretched, which is why I'm posting here.

Your efforts, while valiant, will be forever forgotten.

Will my efforts be forgotten though? :(

Everytime I drive a car I have a fear of running out of gas in the middle of the road. Ironically, I have never had such a situation. Every time I'm going on some long trip, despite there's enough gas I must fill the tank. Even though I don't ride deserted roads.

Ah yes, I remember a good one now.

I'm TERRIFIED OF FEET.

Maybe 'terrified' isnt the right way to describe it, but I HATE them. I can look at them... from a distance. If someone puts their feet within a foot or so of my face, I freak the fuck out. Something else I've been running into lately is people putting their feet on my pillow. My suitemates will come in and chill out on my bed, and they'll put their feet on my pillow. And I'm left screaming "I SLEEP THERE!!! HELLO?!?!"

Ugh. FEET.

kat Dec 7, 2007 01:07 AM

Do you think it's a hygiene issue or an actual foot fear?

Because if someone puts their nasty ass dirty feet on my sleeping pillow or within breathing distance to my face, I'd sure as hell be afraid of where that foot has been.

I dont think its hygiene... I've never had a problem with germs or smells. I mean, think of where people's hands have been... I'm not scared of those. And the feet could be fresh out of the shower and I'd still freak.

I don't like sleeping in a position that faces a doorway directly. My bed is placed so that my line of vision while sleeping is a wall or anything else other than a door. I think I still believe that sleeping while facing a door is considered bad luck in my culture.

Another one might be my fear of falling into any body of water if I'm driving over a bridge. There are a few bridges I pass while driving to San Francisco, and I somehow think that the bridge will collapse and I'll fall right into the water below.
