Okay, why the fuck is it that for such a major release game Nintendo didn't have stores with copies of this game in boxes in the back room this weekend? For such a huge release it is not acceptable that they give today as the release date but everywhere I call it is being released tomorrow because Nintendo decided it was a good idea to start shipping yesterday. Fuck you West Coast. Fuck you. If Halo 3 can get this shit right I'd certainly expect Super Mario fucking Galaxy to. My free day of Mario goodness is ruined. Thanks a lot, Nintendo. Funny shit ever today, Jimmy called Best Buy, a dumb clerk answered and said oh yeah we got copies, and told her to hold one for me when I got there. Of course when I got there, she came out and was like ooh I'm so so sorry, I meant to call him back and let him know we cannot release these til TOMORROW (she used emaphsis here). I just started to grin at how dumb she is. Of course we're trying to get dumb clerks to release one.

Ah well, I planned on calling in just to play this gem tomorrow.

Don't blame the employees, but blame the companies for constantly passing off the ship date as the actual street date. Nintendo is the one videogame company that is notoriously bad at doing just this and nearly every big title they've had pulls this " available on monday " crap and the game is never actually available for in-store purchase until tuesday.

How did you get it, and whats with the book?

My gamestop sold it to me. That huge book is the hardbound 350 page collectors edition players guide. The smell of freshly printed paper gets me high.

That is quite possibly the sexiest guide I've ever seen. You could even set that on your coffee table as a centerpiece, it's that good.

Did anybody else catch the 3 hour marathon at Gamespot? Alex Navarro played from the very beginning until the first battle with Bowser (21-22 stars or so).
It's probably redundant to praise this game even more with all the press it's been getting, but DAMN! this is some amazingly fun game.

The street date is today. No one's breaking anything by selling it today, it's just a matter of actually having copies on hand.

My gamestop didn't break the street date. The game could officially be sold at midnight. Since pre-orders were high at my store they happened to have copies on the street date. Gamestops that didn't have it today won't get their shipments until tomorrow. Best Buy has had the game since last week but their boxes are marked "Do not sell until 11/13/07". So tomorrow everyone should be able to find a copy.

I'm 25 stars into the game now. I can tell you right now I already like this 20 times better than Super Mario Sunshine. Oh god, and the remade music from gave me multiple orgasms.

Weird. I didn't get my commemorative coin. But yeah we reserved our copies early. I just told Jimmy that I forgot to ask GS clerk for one. But he wasn't passing them out to the others that were standing in line in front of me though, they all had reserve tickets.
