Maybe SE hasn't released certain games here because they sucked. Code Age Commanders or whatever it was called is just a horrible, HORRIBLE game, and yet people still complain that it didn'tget a US release so that they could find out what a piece of crap it was for theirselves, which would only result into more complaining about SE.

As for the comment about expensive phones, in general cellphones are ridiculously cheap in japan, it's the subscription that you have to take that can cost a lot of money. Seriously, the phone I bought half a year ago cost me 10000 yen (around 70 dollars I think), and it can do basically everything you'd need (internet, mp3 player, camera, e-mail, radio, instant messenger) aside from playing games, and with the new models coming up it only costs 1 yen right now. And EVERYONE here can afford a cellphone, it's basically a necessity, so just because I said that it kinda sucks that only Docomo gets PE3, doesn't mean that kids will have to pay tons of money to play the game.

You just have to face that the cellphone is kinda a respected gaming device here in Japan, and SE would be stupid to ignore it and only publish on handhelds, when it's a lot cheaper to produce a game for a phone than for he DS or PSP. SE is in the first place producing games for the JAPANESE market after all.

This is fucking bullshit. PE is one of the best games they ever put out, and marked their late-90s heyday wherein they produced their best material (Einhander, Vagrant Story, PE, Xenogears).

It's also their only remaining series whose lead character only looks like a woman because --SHOCK--



Release it on PS2. Release it on PS3. Release it on the DS for all I care. But for fuck's sake, release it on a real goddamn gaming machine.

No, I meant Xenosaga since that one would have been much, much better as a book instead of a game (Though it probably would have been even worse as a movie. Was anyone ever able to make it through the anime?). Xenogears at least had a fun game to go along with a pretty good story (well, minus the second CD's gameplay, that was kinda rough).

There's a Xenosaga manga series, and from what I've heard it sounds quite interesting (it's more character heavy and less religious terminology), but I haven't been able to find scans anywhere. It shouldn't be a stretch for Tokyopop to localize it, but there hasn't been any word.

I'll let you know as soon as I get around to watching it. Which if I'm motivated to do so, could be as soon as this weekend.

And here I thought GFF was dead for so long. Sigh.

I saw this news on a gamingsite a while ago. I have mixed feelings about it.

I absolutely LOVED the first PE. It was everything I hope it would be, and then came the sequel. To say it was a disappointment would be a understatement. I was a little surprised at first that it took them this long to make another sequel, but even more surprised that it turned out to be a cell phone game.

Until they decide to actually make a console, or if need be a handheld sequel, I'm not going to show the least bit of interest in this. It's just a waste of time.

XG Perfect Works was pretty damn interesting. It's not much of a translation in terms of the images in it and everything, but some site called u-tic.org (lol, Xenosaga pun), put out a translation on GameFaqs.

I've never been so disappointed upon entering a thread with a title of such sheer awesomeness. Upon reading the thread title I thought "Wow they're going to release PE3 finally! Probably on PS3!". The possibility that it would be for Japanese cel phones was the farthest thing from my mind. I don't like all these side stories on cel phones and if this is supposed to be PE3 proper... I don't think they can make it proper on the cel phone. PE is a series that deserves the power of a real console. SquareEnix can keep all their cel phone games. If they ever want to release a real PE game I'll gladly play it.

Yeah this is some serious bull-crap right here. I understand that cell-phones that play games are common in Japan. I recognize that it would be a wise business decision for squeenix to tap into this market. However, did they have to sacrifice such a beloved series in the process? One that hasn't really appeased its fans in quiet a while?

I don't even really want them to port this game to the DS or PSP cause I feel like cell-phones won't provide enough power to do this game justice. (Unless they totally remake the game from ground up if they were to port it but I'm getting way ahead of myself here)

Bottom line, there better be a proper and substantial new entry to the series following this installment. Soon.
