Like many other Wii titles, this is a $49.99 round disc that probably has about $1.99 worth of content on it. We rented teh original in college and it was kind of fun while it lasted but not serious fun, just dinking around in a 3-D world kind of fun. Seeing as how 3-D worlds have been out for quite some time now, I think I'll pass. I just can't see how they can justify pricing games like this at exactly the same price as Metroid 3 or Galaxy...

Oh hey, for those who don't know, this was done by Sonic Team.

Seeing as it's christmas, I took out my Saturn like I do every year and played Christmas NiGHTS. Beat the game with Elliot and Claris to get the star. Good memories and good times, makes me think about my childhood every time I play it.

I havent played the sequel, but i'll hold judgement until I do play it. I'm not expecting it to be like the Saturn version, but I am hoping the happy music is still there [which it is I believe], and the colorful worlds [which that's a given].

However I see all of you are very picky, and act like you're all Adam Sessler with the jaded video gamer eye that has to see a flaw in every game that's released. The bottom line is, is the sequel fun? Is it filled with the magic that the first game had? And this is to the gamers who fell in love with the first game, not the people who played the NiGHTS series for the first time on the Wii.

Sessler is one of the most forgiving reviewers around.

And I've heard nothing but bad things from EVERYONE, so.

Still wanna rent it. Never was expecting much considering Sega's penchant for fucking up, though.

What's truly funny is speculative's...erm... justification of the cost. Holy shit. Devon needs to come back from her vacation.

I'm a pretty big Sega fan, even after everything had gone downhill after all these years. NiGHTS 2 is genuinely average at best. The flying segments are faithful, in some respects better than the original, particularly if you use the non-Wii-mote controls. The problem is that Iizuka decided to cram in as much extra content in for the sake of having it, which is the problem with 3D Sonic games in general. This game is no exception. There's all this extra crap that gets in the way of the good stuff, and you are forced to trudge through it.

If they had stuck to the simple formula of the original, I think fans of the original would have been a lot happier. They tried to please everyone and instead, as the saying goes, they ended up pleasing no one.

Well the fact that Yuji Naka has nothing to do with this sequel says a lot I think. Regardless, Id love to play it since I am an old NiGHTS fan. Reala looks pretty fucking cool I must say, but I have yet to see Wizeman in any new pics.

:(

I'll definitely be checking this out out sometime soon. I never got to enjoy the fun of the original NiGHTS...but screw the reviews, this still looks fun in its own way.
