Herm, Devil May Cry 1 looks freakier than that. So if I could handle DMC (which was fucking blast through and through, and nothing really freaked me out) then this should be okay?

RE4 isn't scary at all.

It does have some tense moments here and there. But you'll probably be having too much fun blasting things to notice.

Definitely. All those other posts was to show what's actually freaky, and what's... an action title.

Re:bathtub. It was an empty, normal looking bathtub (and bathroom) until a little bit of blood started coming out of it.

Spatula Mar 23, 2006 08:36 PM

WELL THEN, I'M FUCKING SOLD!

Except that its still selling for $50 right now at your friendly neighbourhood Walmart, which I think is a rip off considering it's only a port from the GC.

Megalith Mar 23, 2006 08:38 PM

I like how I got the Toycube version for $10.

Of course it's superior.

Spatula Mar 23, 2006 08:41 PM

Of course I'm not going to spend another $100 on a console just to play ONE game, unless it's SUPER TOKYO DENSHA CONDUCTOR SYSTEM FIVE.

Of course, then the amusement park pink bunnies come often to RAPE U!

The more I look at the RE4 pics, the more fun it looks, no really. BOWLING!

David Deluxe Mar 24, 2006 11:18 AM

Trust me, just play Resident Evil 4. In my opinion, it isn't scary at all. I'd never play a game like Silent Hill and even Resident Evil 0-3 were serious business, but Resident Evil 4 is mainly shooting some enemies. Even those regenerators aren't too scary, since you can kill them from a safe distance. With your sniper rifle, they won't even touch you.

RYU Mar 24, 2006 02:39 PM

but about two pics ,they are removed from game,is can't see that on game

I just posted that image to give Spatula an idea of what can be done in the game. So in a way you are right, that section was omitted from the game but partially. Once you pass through the sewers after chatting with Salazar and making your way pass those huge blades, you come across a mini cutscene of Los Illuminados chanting, morir es vivir which I find quite hilarious and catchy. :p Toss a flash grenade and jump down, while they are blinded momentarily make your way to the exit where the typewriter is and the door will shut closed. Whip out that Rocket Launcher and have a blast.

In that section of the game, I just took em on with a handgun and a knife.

T1249NTSCJ Mar 26, 2006 03:48 PM

Yeah that is what I did up until I completely ended the game, mercenaries, Assignment Ada, chicago typewriter, unlimited rocket launcher etc. :)

But I love taking them on with that only. I just use the special weapons for speed runs. For fun, I just buy the normal weapons and use those and the knife. In the PS2 version, I use the gangster outfit because the knife is a bit more stronger than Leon's default knife due to the knife change with the gangster outfit. The knife in that outfit looks more like a butterfly knife.

T1249NTSCJ Mar 26, 2006 03:59 PM

Well after completing the game more than 8X, you're really have to get it out of your system before locking it away for months. :p I do hope the PC version that will be out soon has all the extras and more that the GC version didn't get.

Why is Resident Evil 4 being compared to the likes of Silent Hill or Fatal Frame?

Spatula just wanted to know how scary RE4 is. If it is at all.

RYU Mar 26, 2006 04:28 PM

I finished mercenaries "all with 5 stars" and play normal mode more than 3 times and pro mode more than 8 times.and I got 1 billion gold on pro mode.

Spatula Mar 26, 2006 05:34 PM

Okay, so last question is how easy is it to deal with those helluva freak Regenerators? I think those monsters will only be my main concern for "freaky scary" factor in the game as whole.

Timberwolf Mar 26, 2006 05:50 PM

Ammo really isn't an issue in RE4. Show no mercy.

Once you shoot thier limbs off and see them hopping like frogs that'll all go away. RE4 is just a tense game which actually isn't scary but don't keep your guard down. RE5 picks up where RE4 left off and the trailer looks quite promising if it's any indication of what to except from the undead. :)

It was too bad that Regenerators and Iron Maidens only ever appeared in the main game, with Leon, and only sparsely. I was really hoping for a room full of Regenerators in the main game, or at least a mission in Mercs that only involves the more 'elite' enemies in the game (Regs, Iron Maidens, Armoured Garradors, and Super Salvadors).

AH so its like when you first see them you say, "ZOMG WTF!" but when you start laying waste taking off their legs, you say, "LEGS GO WHERE? LOLOLOL"

Okay not so scary after all I guess. This sometimes helps me whenever I'm fighting a pretty freak foe in those FPS games.

CONFIDENCE +5 Points. :edgartpg:
