Hi, My Name Is Hito Nov 20, 2006 04:43 PM

Sass, would you willingly please those few and retarded men that enjoy larger women?

I poked it and it made a sad sound Nov 20, 2006 05:43 PM

I'm not sure what you're getting at. I don't wear tube tops. I am not fucking retarded.

On a side note, I would never wear a tube top, even if I were skinny. It's a matter of personal dignity. I think it's a whorish look. But you know me.

Strange. I must be trying on all the wrong things.

The strapless dresses that I've ever worn have usually had the same slipping problem on me and many that I know. And this particular tube top in question does go all the way down. So it's not that overly skanktastic I don't think. Especially because, again, I wont' wear anything strapless (or strap-py, even) without something over it i.e. a jacket. I was thinking of tube tops that DO go all the way down paired with a skirt equaling a dress when asking the question. Sorry about the misunderstanding. Those examples you posted are a bit...erm...extreme, ne? O_o I've never seen anyone dressed like that in public. Guess I'm going to all the wrong places to see that type of clothing too...

Is this supposed to imply that those who do wear tube tops are retarded? O_o I totally agree that in certain forms and fashions and the way that tube tops are commonly worn aren't particularly modest, but I'm finding it a bit strange that this particular type of top is being so heavily regarded as "for whores only" when I think, when worn with the right accessories or dressings, be you fat or skinny, it can be very stylish, even in a business setting. Just keep your jacket on.

I guess it's just all in how you wear it. I'm not particularly thin myself, but I'm not totally popping out of this top from either end (again, see, "it goes down all the way" up there). It fits me fine. It just slips. Maybe it's the breasts after all. By the next time I'm wearing this top, I'll have since considered the reasonable suggestions previously provided (or to be provided) and taken it. For me, this isn't impractical as I enjoy modifying clothing so I (or whoever I'm modifying it for) look better and can enjoy wearing it. Yes, a weirdo, I know, but it's not really any big deal for me to do something simple that I enjoy so that I can enjoy. ^_^

So, yea, again, thanks all for your suggestions...I guess a mod can close this if they so feel or let the discussion continue (I honestly never forsaw it going into a full out discussion of the apparent controversy of tube tops hehehe) but I've gotten my answer.

I'm fairly certain it's supposed to imply that very large people who wear tube tops are retarded.

kiyo-chan Nov 20, 2006 08:56 PM

Oh. I see. Oopsies...sorry Sassafrass...T_T In that light, I also didn't mean to/wasn't meaning to/don't mean to imply that you're implying that people who wear tube tops are retarded. I was just wondering what exactly the question meant. Thanks, Xardion.

You know, never have I seen someone more deserving of their over all 2 rating. Kudos, Ayos. Way to set the bar, buddy.

Um... where did this come from, and what are you getting at, exactly? Cause you just totally confused me. :eyebrow:

Ayos Nov 21, 2006 03:15 AM

See, there's the clarity I was looking for. You could just say something like "Your attempt at dry humor about this topic failed miserably."

Xardion Nov 21, 2006 03:18 AM

If those were actual attempts at humor, it's a sad time for humanity indeed.

Little Brenty Brent Brent Nov 21, 2006 03:22 AM

I thought they were attempts at being the creepy internet guy.

Ayos Nov 21, 2006 03:24 AM

Hey, I never claimed I was funny. I'd hate to be thought of as funny by those who currently think I'm not. It would basically shatter my world, and lower my expectations of everyone here.

No no, creepy internet guy would have said something more along the lines of "Hey, your tits would look RAD in a tube top, try it out and take some pictures and send them to me."
I think.

Leknaat Nov 21, 2006 03:26 AM

Ummm....

Is the top of the tube top even all the way around? If it's lower in the back, then the front tries to even itself out. And people have a habit of pulling shirts down to straighten them, so without straps, the tube top just keeps going.

Also, add some elastic to the top seam. It's not hard.

It's sitting in my closet cause it won't stay up - I couldn't get LeHah to let me borrow his length of rope :( Plus if I posted any more pictures of myself... Devo wouldn't be able to have kids. EVAR.

Why don't you try talking her into wearing a corset, hotshot.

Haha tube tops. I have a lot of trouble supressing the automatic "ho" thought reflex that pops up whenever I see someone wearing them.

I wouldn't wear one, but there are lots of things I wouldn't wear just because of my non-skinny build. Maybe God's keeping me slightly overweight on purpose so that I won't become a slut... It's possible! *shifty eyes*
Low self-confidence = # of tramps decreases

Also, I totally thought Ayos was funny. *thumbsup*

Aye, mate. It was a commentary on the humour sort of stalling the thread and not really eliciting much of a chuckle.

Plainsman Nov 21, 2006 09:01 PM

kiyo-chan, don't let these guys bother you. I thought the shirt that you linked to looked very lovely. There IS a stigma against tube tops, but I think that's mostly directed at the tops that only cover the thoracic region, I wouldn't even consider the black top you showed a "tube top." I hope you're able to make it work for yourself!

Dee Nov 21, 2006 09:48 PM

Just use double sided tape. Regular ol' Scotch can do the trick, really. Happens with strapless bras too... my solution is clear straps.
