Not much time so straight to the points:

(2 points) Divine Divinity (PC Game Rip) - Whispers From A Council Past

(2 points) Armored Core 3 Silent Line Soundtrack - Lapse of Time

(1 point) FOR BRIGHTER DAY ~ Phantasy Star Universe Original Sound Track - The Last Story

(1 point) Lunar 2 Eternal Blue Complete - Field To Tomorrow

Was very tempted to give Phantasy Star two points but just couldn't pass up on Lunar.

THE POWER OF WATER Nov 19, 2006 09:12 PM

Heh.

I was stressing out because there was this monster line at Taco Bell. I thought I'd have enough time to get back before 7:45, but all those people had an inconvenient craving for Mexican fast food, so I just returned a few minutes ago. :(

Turns out I didn't have to rush because we have a tie in voting and need more votes. =O

Elorin Nov 19, 2006 09:24 PM

Hope I didn't cause the tie. :( And thanks for covering song research, CHz. I've been going bonkers for the past week. :( :(

Darkcomet72 Nov 19, 2006 09:40 PM

Aughhhhghghhhhhhh

BIG DAMN TRUCKS taking too much of my BIG DAMN TIME.

3 points: Ruined Heart
2 points: Mororina the Elegant Crowd
1 point: An Ulterior Motive

I shouldn't like Mororina, but I do.

THE POWER OF WATER Nov 19, 2006 09:51 PM

Voting is closed and nominations are restricted!

1). [24] MegaMari: Marisa no Yabou (Game Rip) - Izayoi Sakuya Stage
2). [18] Lost Passage Perfect Arrange Album - Ruined Heart
3). [17] Gungrave O.S.T. - An Ulterior Motive
4). [16] FOR BRIGHTER DAY ~ Phantasy Star Universe Original Sound Track - The Last Story
5). [15/12] Lunar 2 Eternal Blue Complete - Field To Tomorrow
6). [15/11.5] Space Channel 5 Original Soundtrack - Mororina The Elegant Coward
7). [9] Divine Divinity (PC Game Rip) - Whispers From A Council Past
8). [6] Armored Core 3 Silent Line Soundtrack - Lapse of Time

Quite surprised at the results, to be perfectly honest. Pleasantly so, of course.

Problem solved, mp3 version of Space Station Silicon Valley: Fun In The Sun uploaded to FTP.

Drakken Nov 19, 2006 10:56 PM

Ah, nice to see songs I voted for get in the top 3. Good week.

I'll prepare this week's songs now.

EliJaH Nov 19, 2006 11:21 PM

Hmm, I like the results, except I'm sad to see 2 Armored Core songs place in last (or close to it, cant remember the last one).

Anyways, when do the next weeks songs get out and ready to give points to? I'm not going to be able to access a computer from mid-Tuesday (-7 GMT) to Sunday so It'd be nice if I could be able to vote on the songs before then.

Yeah, Articial Line placed last as well.

Some time Monday afternoon or evening. Since Drakken's working on the tracks right now, I could end up tossing the threads up a little early for you.

I was planning on putting the thread up at around 8 AM tomorrow, since the songs are all in order. That early enough?

THE POWER OF WATER Nov 19, 2006 11:57 PM

=O

Absolutely!

SonicPanda Nov 20, 2006 12:11 AM

Whoa...Sakuya won? Color me surprised; I'd have thought it was a toss-up between Gungrave or Phantasy Star.

Still...woo!

Uh...isn't this a doujin track? Or am I missing something here?

Crash "Long-Winded Wrong Answer" Landon Nov 20, 2006 12:33 AM

Yes and no. S.S.H. has composed professionally, that is, their work has appeared on officially released albums. This technicality makes the rest of their work eligible for SotW, even doujin, because they have recorded professionally.

This is how I understand the matter, anyhow.

Nah, I think doujin mixes are accepted as long as the mixer has composed some actual games as well. SSH had another track in Song of the Week awhile back; I think it won, too.

EDIT: Blargh, beat to the punch.

THE POWER OF WATER Nov 20, 2006 12:41 AM

Yeah, Crash and SonicPanda covered it.

I'm just posting because SonicPanda's av and sig above me are amazing. <3

TheKnightOfNee Nov 20, 2006 02:08 AM

Outside of the MegaMari song finishing first, I'm quite surprised with the results. With the way some people were talking about the Phantasy Star song, I expected it would place. And Ruined Heart finished surprisingly high. Oh, and there's my nomination, sitting in the bottom half like usual.

Still no links to the other forums in the initial post, is there any life at Chudah's at all?

Duck King Nov 20, 2006 05:39 AM

I should have given Ruined Heart some points! I'm starting to like it a lot more now. Still glad it placed somehow. And I think Whispers From A Council Past could have placed a bit higher, but oh well... it was a strong week. Good results.

Hasn't been for over a year now...Bit of a shame, but oh well. Most of the people who frequent there are cast-offs from other boards anyway.

Kaleb.G Nov 20, 2006 06:42 AM

I forgot to vote, though I had no strong urge for this week. Despite the fact that "The Last Story" is really good, it's still nowhere nearly as good as the IDOLA songs...and also, "Ukishima" is a better PSU song. Nevertheless, it still deserved to beat out that aimless Gungrave garbage.

Yeah, I kind of agree...First thing I noticed from PSU was there were no Idola themes and Last Story was probably the closest thing I found while flipping through it. There may be songs I like more than that, but that was the first one to hook me. I did like Tokoi's contributions much more than his PSOIII stuff and I came away with a much higher opinion of Kobayashi.

I listened to Gungrave awhile ago and the only thing I really remember was "Ear Fudge"...I remember that being a potential nomination, but moreso for being such an oddball than a real favorite.

Djinova Nov 20, 2006 07:22 AM

lol, I would have never thought MegaMari would place first, but I agree. If I were to give it an 8 the others must be around 7.7-7.5 or so. Also the only ones I didn't give points to place 2nd and 3rd.
Yeah, Armored Core ist last place again. SADNESS. To celebrate this I'm probably going to nominate a real sad vocal track, I just recently found.

Elorin Nov 20, 2006 07:38 AM

Okay, I've been waiting to nominate this for a while. Better late than never:

* Source: http://www.mobygames.com/game/window...lation/credits
* Disc Number: 1 (of 1)
* Track Number: 7
* Catalogue Number: NA
* Year: 2004
