Well, since it's bloody and others have said it's violent, I'll guess Elfen Lied. Not that I remember a scene like that in it. It's been a while :/

That yellow airplane reminds me of Dragon Ball to be honest. Though, the art for the scenario is totally different, so I guess I'm plain lost here.

Based on the old style animation and the fact that I have not seen this show yet, I'll guess that it's Nadia of the Mysterious Seas. Guessing it for the irony involved, what better to put than an airplane for a show about the sea? :D

Not a bad guess, but no cigar. This series is relatively more obscure than either of those. Keep the guesses coming.

Oh my god, it's Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou - Quiet Country Cafe. You have good taste, zzeroparticle. They seriously need to get a high budget animation studio on making a complete and uber detailed conversion of that wonderful manga. It had some great OVAs but it's just not nearly enough.

Yes! I've been recommending Asatte no Houkou to a couple of people around here. Very similar feel to Twin Spica. Excellent shows.

That's from the third OVA episode of Today in Class 5-2. They're trying to figure out how to show a dude what the feel of cat pads is like by comparing it to earlobes. Good show. =)
