Ooh, Naz, if you do get Puzzle Quest, tell me how it is. I've been reluctant to get it until I hear something decent about it.
|
Get Puzzle Quest. It's highly addictive, and I have yet to hear from anyone who didn't fall madly in love with it. Seems like every Best Buy I go in has a ton of them.
|
I'll probably buy it once i'm out of my Pokemon phase.

:3: Three more Taito games. Now I just need Exit 2 and my Euro Taito PSP/DS collection will be set (until they release more games oh no). I'm avoiding Monster Bomber on DS because it looks like absolute shit. Also Space Invaders Revolution because I once owned it and it destroyed me ever so slightly. I think Bust-a-Move Ghost has been around the block a few thousand times. I peeled off the pawn shop sticker to find a Games Wizards pre-owned price sticker under it. Under THAT was an EB price sticker. What a whore. |

Oh really? I might pick it up if it drops in price around here anytime soon. Five bucks seems like a good price for nutmeg!
|
Picked up Devil May Cry 3 the other day, as well as something i never saw coming.
I finally found Vigilante 8 and Vigilante 8: 2nd Offense for the 64. Each were like 8 bucks, so i snagged 'em, along with two old 64 controllers the EB i was at had lying around. They were those gross third party imitations, but whatever, they'll do. I'm so excited right now. |

Or FFXII for pete's sake. DO IT FOR PETE! |
I'll buy God of Wauuuuugh on Wednesday when I get more fun bucks in my account. PINKIE SWEAR! But not FFXII, it's still very expensive! I'm sorry Pete! ;_;
|
So you go into EB Games on a whim. While you're browsing the used section for absolutely nothing in particular, the impossible to find game with the unblemished reputation stares you in the face and tells you, "Even if you had to spend the last 25 dollars to your name, you'd be an idiot not to buy me." |

"Oooh, God of Whooooaaah! I will just g- *sniff* *sniff* What is? HOUWAAAAGGH What is that awful stench?! Zit Popper 4! Flying Tree! Elf Bowling 2! Only $15! I have to buy them all! I don't even have this console! Super Console 64! I will buy it as well! My pants!" |
It's true, it's true, I probably would buy Halmar's Super Horse Horse for the Super Console 64 over God of Waaauuugoooaaahsuperfunhappyslide if I saw them next to eachother on the shelf. I need help! ;_;

PURCHASE GET! I was told it was a sin to have a modded PS2 and not own this collection of games. And best of all, you can play the english version of each game if it has one. I was aiming for the Gunstar Heroes Treasure box but that only includes 3 games. And besides, this coverart has a cute little floating puffball on it so it wins the internet. |

My most recent buy was Castlevania: Curse of Darkness for the PS2. I had been reluctant to buy it for the longest time because most reviews for it were bad (since when do I ever listen to what other people say about games?), but I found it cheap on ebay (about $15 including shipping to Sweden) the other week and decided to give it a chance.
My first impressions were that it seemed quite dull and the story didn't really make up for it. Bad voice acting (even with the japanese voices) and dull gameplay made it seem like a bad buy at first, but it kinda grew on me and now I actually like it a lot. It feels as close as SOTN as you can ever get with 3D graphics and there are some references to other games in there that makes playing it worthwile (go MOAI!). Definately a good buy, although ages late. |
Ugh, I finally broke down and bought Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords for about $20 with the help of some gift cards. I tried a little of it and I'm liking it so far. It's basically Bejeweled versus another computer. I still have to get the hang of the skills and level up system, but that will come eventually.
Next on my list, Super Paper Mario. :| |
Just picked up Super Paper Mario at Costco last night. I figure it will be regular price for some time (even though it will eventually be greatest hits-style) and it was $43 at Costco so I pulled the trigger. I'm almost done with TP so I'm going to try to finish that up this weekend before I dig into 2d land...

Man, It's been a long time since I've been back here. And let's see, I think, as of last time I posted, I only had 1 DS game. Well, now I have 5. That would be New Super Mario Bros. (This seems to be a mandatory game for ALL DS owners), Final Fantasy III (for the Final Fantasy Fanboy in me ;)), Pokemon Diamond (Damn straight), and Etrian Odyssey (old school, nostalgic RPG fun).
That last one would be the most interesting, because it wasn't much that caught my eye except for the stunning anime-inspired art style on the front of the game box that drew me to buy it. I haven't heard of it much outside of a passing mention in Nintendo Power. So I bought it, only to see that the mags didn't give it that high of a score. But then I started playing it, and it kicks major ass. Atlus now kicks ass in my book, which means I need to now find Izuna. So my Current DS Collection: Mario Kart DS New Super Mario Bros. Final Fantasy III Pokemon Diamond Etrian Odyssey |
I finally bought Super Paper Mario the day before I left for Ohio. The game is great so far. And this might be the first Wii game I can finish. I have no patience to beat games for some reason. <_<

HEY QWARKY
http://img47.imageshack.us/img47/6495/gow002rq2.jpg Ha ha! Picked up the first God of Waaarhasneverbeensomuchfuncannonfodder in a pawn shop for $16 (it has an EB sticker under it for $30, take that, box!) but then I went into EB and they have an actual, real, proper sale going on for once! None of this 'Big sale! Trade twenty PS2 games in and get $5 off anything in store! Hurry!' Lots of new release games for half price, I will consume the sequel while I'm here! I went to play the first one today and discovered I don't have enough room on my memory card. TO THE STORE AGAIN TOMORROW. >=( But what I did play of it was fun! Especially killing the idiots running around trying to escape the giant flying things on the boat. Yes that's it, run right in front of my swingy weapon of doom. GOOD PLAN! Also that GoW 2 box actually had even more stickers on it before I took the photo. It's basically impossible to find out what you're buying at EB unless you look at the spine of the box. |
Picked up Etrian Odyssey and Odin Sphere, also cancelled my pre-order on Dawn of Mana because of the skill reset bullshit. Sort of iffy on Hoshigami remix. Hated the original, might pick that up though. See if they fixed it.

MARIO PARTAAAY 8...
...is pretty much the same as every Mario Party game. Except this one comes on the Wii, so that means that every once-in-a-while you might use the Wii controller to do something intuitive. But otherwise, it's nothing that groundbreaking. Fun if you have 4 people playing, but computer AI is pretty much garbage (just like every other iteration). It's not a bad pickup if you don't already have some other copy of Mario Party (as if anyone besides me only has a Wii -- thanks whoever stole my GameCube ;_;). |
I didn't want to get banned so I went out and bought Odin Sphere. It was a worthy purchase and will probably be the last PS2 game I buy. Nothing good seems to be coming out in the near future, since RPGs are the only games I buy, with a few exceptions.
|
got odin sphere today, played through like...five minutes of it and then got sidetracked on something else. I feel bad for doing so D= i searched through three stores to find a copy (and got the LAST copy at the IC EB. HAH. anyone else in the area can go somewhere else if they want a copy >_> meh).
maybe i should actually start playing the games i buy xD |
