My copy shipped from amazon.co.jp this morning and should be here on Wednesday or Thursday :) I love their shipping.

Spatula May 30, 2006 01:42 AM

Details of cost of goods and shipping, if you don't mind. But damn, amazon.co.jp, don't know if I could read all the "fine print". I've not used amazon ever, only a couple times on eBay.

Actually currently it's for any orders over $25 USD, it's apart of their 8th anniversary promotion (hell of a deal, gotta import that FF7AC Reunion files book). Not sure how you missed that...

I went with Yesasia for OST myself as part of the OST/FFVII AC Reunion book discount special given that the book is both in Japanese AND English. :)

Spatula May 30, 2006 08:38 AM

Ah shit! Patlabor 2 LE will have to wait. Sorry Q, I'm still a Patlabor Fan Boy, but I mean, we've both seen the movie, BUT THIS IS FFXII!

And orders over $25 USD get free shipping? Hot diggity damn!

Also, Simo, you might want to update the first page for the US release date. Sources tell me its October 24thish. And I forgot where I got my sources from ;___;. August is a no go, unfortunately.

Zeta26 May 30, 2006 10:53 AM

Well guys, it comes tomorrow ^_^. The FFXII OST. Who here's gonna host it on their FTP :)?

Spatula May 30, 2006 01:39 PM

LOL no kidding. So any word of how many copies of this "limited edition" OST will be made? I feel sorta bad just ripping off them this time around. I have all of the OSTs on my harddrive, yet not a single real copy one.

You guys think it's too late if I order it now off of Yesasia?

Rydia May 30, 2006 03:16 PM

There is already discussion of the FFXII OST in this thread. Feel free to discuss the soundtrack there instead of here.

....Spy Kids???.....

At least he sounds decent (LOL Tidus) in the English trailer..but still,

....SPY KIDS???....

Freddy Krueger May 31, 2006 02:05 PM

Yeah but look at Jesse Mcartny or whatever his name is who did Roxas in KHII and he did a great job

Rei no Otaku May 31, 2006 03:45 PM

He was in Spy Kids so that obviously means he'll do a bad job! It's not like we'd actually judge him based on his performance in the game.

Zeta26 May 31, 2006 06:05 PM

For me at least, this' why I laugh at people that have these kind of comments. Because they tend to vent their rants early on in the game. And yet, when the finished product surfaces and gets to stores. People tend to have a 2nd oppinion. And Rei no Otaku, FYI. THAT WAS HIM! In the E3 trailer. That had that quote:

Quote:

"What do you care about Dalmasca? Everything that has happened is because of you!"
So, don't say that the actor will be bad. Just because you base it on some movie. Whether or not you've seen the trailer. You really can't say anything bad about him. As you never heard him fully in FFXII. But rather just some trailer of E3.

Cobalt Katze May 31, 2006 06:38 PM

Dare I sense a lack of sarcasmic comprehension? ;)

Nah, I'm definitely not bashing him, and I don't find his tone irritating so far, in the English trailer. Sorry, the Spy kid thing caught me sorta off guard, but then most (voice) actors gotta start somewhere right?

You do know I was being sarcastic right?

I'm with you on the people who for some reason can't accept that there is such a thing as good English voice acting. I personally do prefer subtitles, but that doesn't mean I'm going to act like "English voice acting is teh suck omg!!11!" Yes, Japanese voice acting tends to be better, but from listening to that trailer, and even hearing it perfectly on G4, it sounds great. Nitpicking stuff like how someone says "dare" is ridiculous.

Is this Screech.

Seriously though, I haven't seen any movies with this guy in it, but I'm sure he'll do fine. It shouldn't really matter too much, since from what I heard...

(not a spoiler, but marked anyway)

Spoiler:
Vaan's role isn't as big as it's advertised to be.

Zeta26 May 31, 2006 10:49 PM

lol, no. That isn't Screech of Saved by the Bell. That's Bobby Edner (of Spy Kids 3-D).

Soldier May 31, 2006 10:57 PM

........

I'm not sure if I asked this in the last FFXII thread (pre-downtime), but is there a definitive main villain in this game? If so, how does he/she/it measure up to classic baddies like Kefka or Sephiroth? I loved the villains in FFT, since they were humans with typical human traits (betrayal, greed, murdering family members, etc), and I'm hoping we get some similar despicable bastards with the Judgemasters or Vayne (assuming he's bad, and with hair like that, it's pretty likely).

Zeta26 May 31, 2006 11:06 PM

There is

Spoiler:
His name is Vayne Solidor, he appears several of times in the game and he tries to get the Dalmascan empire follow his ideals before he makes his true appearance as the game's final boss. He has a brother. His name is Larsa

from Wikipedia's FFXII section;

Vayne Cardas Solidor is the 27-year-old crown prince of Archadia and first in line to inherit the throne from his father, Emperor Gramis, his two older brothers having been killed in battle. Though he wields a considerable amount of authority, Vayne does not abuse his power; rather, he makes an effort to foster a positive relationship with the conquered Dalmascans and insists that the welfare of the people is his foremost concern.

In truth, Vayne, who is arguably the main villain, wishes to be the new Tyrant King and plans on doing so with the Oquelia called Venus.

Vayne is the final boss of the game and is fought three times, once on his own (using his fists), once with the power of Artificial Nethicite (complete with summoned magic swords) and finally with the power of Venus.

Larsa Ferrinas Solidor is the younger brother of Vayne Solidor and the fourth son of Gramis, eleventh emperor of Archadia. He is second in line to succeed Gramis as emperor and tries hard to gain the respect of his father and older brother. Larsa travels on occasion disguised as a commoner, adopting the alias Ramon so as to remain incognito. He joins the party midgame as a guest, but is not a playable character, however.

lets' try t put as little spoiler as possible in this thread please...

Soldier May 31, 2006 11:35 PM

Good thing I didn't read it, then. I didn't exactly request a name, you know.

Zeta26 Jun 4, 2006 11:29 PM

You guys asked a question, and I gave you the answer. Simple as that, and FYI that was only one time I did that. With you guys you'd think I do more. But that was only 1 spoiler.

B4-Hunter Jun 5, 2006 03:30 AM

*Phew* I never imagine that FF XII will be sooooo long =) I'm 90h+ in it doing some mob hunts from the bottom of the hunting list. For now there is only one mob that I can't kill... hes just to strong for me and I am like Lv.70 all characters.

Every dungeon take me like 40-60 min or even longer to discover all in it. That's the best thing in it. Every place is like a new world that you can discover many interesting things.

I'm right before the final chapter in game but I will not say anything about it. After doing all mob hunts and playing around till I'll get bored of it I'll just go and fight the final boss =). Till then it's party time =D.

P.S
Still no one can scan cover from it? I need 300dpi scan of it =(
