Preorders of the Wii start this Friday. 50$ is the price.
I don't know if it's entirely necessary, given the supply. Who is going to preorder? Friday is for EBGames, for sure. Not sure about other places |
I'm not going to pre-order it. With what... 2 - 3 million at launch was it? That's almost more 360s that have been sold to date.
|
Where does it say that? Do you have any proof of that any proof of that? The website doesn't say anything about it.
|
I'm going to pre-order if only to put my mind at ease. The only nearby EBGames is a small one, so I don't know how many they'll be getting.
And I'd like to have it all paid off to begin with so I don't overspend before it comes out. |
Taco: Good strategy, one that I'll probably never be able to pull off.
The frantic buying of games and accessories at launch that is. Curse you mass marketing and your shinny, new products!!! lol |
My local gamestop still doesn't know when they'll be able to reserve Wii's - we're guessing Friday too, though.
|
I've been paying off on my copies of Red Steel for weeks. I'm all paid for the console. Just reserve 5 copies of Red Steel and pay it in full...then when you can Pre-Order, you just move the titles to the console.
|
My source is my friend who works at EBGames. He called me out of the bathroom just before I was going to shower last night and told me about the preorders
|
I got an email from GameStop this morning confirming it. You know I'll be there :D
Double Post: The question now is what games, if any, do I preorder. It's down to two of these four- 1. Excite Truck 2. Zelda 3. Super Monkey Ball 4. WarioWare (if it's a launch title) The decision making begins! |
Yep, Gamestop is now confirming it on their website.
Link I guess this means waiting in line for me tomorrow. It's been snowing all morning here, too. I hope it doesn't snow tomorrow as well. Cold, windy, snowy weather is not good for waiting in line. |
LOL yay. I'll probably check how many pre-orders they'll have available tonight. Based on this, I'll probably miss a few hours of work to get this pre-order through. :p Time to ninja-plan.

I'll be there armed with my DS and Megaman ZX at 9AM tomorrow, an hour before the store opens. I think I should have a decent shot at getting it.
|
Looks like people are all over this one. I gotta figure out a way to get it - I work for GameStop, so I can probalby get on of my co-workers to do it for me (I have to work my oth3er job 9AM-4PM that day.) Anyway, here's hoping for everyone.

Now I just have to commit to hauling a Wii box via public transportation for over an hour after work... (and it'd probably be the Monday since I'm not in this area on a Sunday). Mission is a GO! |
I'd preorder but I don't think they'll run out of Wiis come launch day. Now if they do, I'll be pissed and regretting the fact that I didn't....
As for launch games....Probably Excite Truck and Zelda, plus the expansive gamecube library I have, that is, the Terrific Trio Mario Kart: Double Dash!!, Mario Power Tennis, and Super Smash Bros. Melee |
My question is, why would they be so damned short stocked if Nintendo is going to have three times as many units than the PS3?
|
'cause it's gonna be a nasty console lololol pay attention.
|
My brother sucks at taking pictures, so sorry for the blurry pictures on some of these. At work today we got display boxes (empty boxes we use in place of putting the actual game out on the floor) for Wii games. To my knowledge these are the first pictures of Wii boxes to be RELEASED ON THE INTERNETS.
Warning: These are HUGE pictures. Front of Avatar: the Last Airbender Back of the box The spine... notice how the whole thing is white, as well as the box! Spine from another angle Closeup of the little indicator icons on the box... they're just as slick and minimalist as the rest of it, but that confuses me. Does that mean the game uses 1 controller, or is it 1 player? The nunchuk thing I understand, but that controller thing is kind of confusing considering all of these games theoretically would be 4 player games. All four of the ones we've gotten so far! |
oooooooooooo those are pretty saxy.
I must say, as the release date draws closer my anticipation is building. As far as now goes, i'm not going to bother preordering. They're supposed to have how many? 17 million shipped by Janurary, or Feb. can't remember. I'll just have to let my paychecks build up and hope i get money for christmas. I'll pick one up in the new year but it'll tear me up inside everyday i don't have one, and i don't plan on picking up a PS3 until at least 2008. You can imagine how that'll make me feel. Just wait till 2008 and by then, and PS3 turns into the next Dreamcast. |
Yo, guys, a very dandy development tool "LiveMove" has been announced. Article can be found here. Apparently it allows developers to program motion macros by simply imputting the movements in a couple times, and LiveMove does the rest.
Check out this video, complete with awesome demo "typing" game. Quite spiffy. |
This is a really great development, because that will drastically reduce the amount of time it'll take a developer to get used to the technology. This will (HOPEFULLY) allow developers to make better games earlier on in the Wii's lifespan; that was the DS's problem, basically nothing that came out for the first year was any good, then once everyone got used to the technology the games started getting better really fast.

In ur base exploding 3s. ='D
|
It's interesting looking at that to imagine which titles would stand out most on the shelf, looks like Red Steel to me. Happy Feet also has a cool box.
