I like how there's still no one team that is a mortal lock for, say, ANYTHING, aside from a playoff berth. Even the friggin' Bruins could still make the playoffs...it's just really improbable.
I can't imagine the Penguins getting into second in the East. The Devils have a game in hand on them, and they play 3 teams who are sub-.500, while the Pens play 5 games, only 1 (tomorrow, against the Bruins) which is against a sub-.500 team. It's still likely (about 30% so thanks to some guy's simulations)...hell, they could get into first still...but right now I'm hoping for fourth at the best. (New Jersey's schedule includes two games against the Flyers, who have nothing better to do right now than play the spoiler. So, here's hoping!) |
Wait, what? Sub .500? We're 35-35-6. .500 on the nose, BEEYOTCH. That's right. *crip walks*
Also, we can call it. Boston not in the playoffs. The dream is over. As such, for the length of the NHL playoffs, I'm a Pens fan. The colours are close, and they have that talent thing going for them. However, come next season, mortal enemies again. |
Not to mention they have Georges Laraque, who made Donald Brashear his bitch last night.
|
His bitch? Come on, that was a pussy fight. One punch tossed, no winner.
However, yes, <3 GL. |
Well he did throw him to the ground. You have to give GL some credit for that. Cmon now.
|
And Brashear isn't some punk bitch, either. Laraque landed a couple right in his face and then drove him into the ground. Black on black violence was never more entertaining.
|
Oh come the fuck on. It was a stupid fight. They were two of the biggest heavy weights in the league. And Brashear got hit ONCE and then LaRaque just took him down. And Brashear IS a punk bitch. That's why McSorley up and sticked him, remember?

lol. The best part is how Garth Snow comes to the rescue. |

No, the best part was how he tapped that monkey upside the head for being all ig'nant and shit.
|
Dude, Garth Snow was fuckin' tough as nails. I doubt there was a goalie playing in the league at the time who could've taken him.
I mean, sure, he sucked as a goalie, and so far he's a pretty bad GM, but he could throw punches! He was the one bright spot during some of the seasons where we just kept losing. Even if we were down 6-0 his antics still made the games fun to watch. =D |

The scoreboard looks awfully nice from there I bet. |
Who's ready for the playoffs? I am! |
|||||
Oh yeah. We're ready. LOCK AND LOAD. |
|||||
I remember seeing that save on TV, FreeHooker. I am really worried if the Red Wings face Vancouver in the playoffs, because I have a feeling Luongo can go crazy and just shut a team down in the playoffs this year.
|
Luongo is the Jersey i'd pick if I won some kind of free jersey contest.
|
Wearin' mine right now. :D
If I did, however, win a free jersey contest, I'd have to go with Thomas Vanek. |
Well that was fast. Ottawa's already up 1-0.
|
Make that 2-0. A shaky Fleury and bad penalties aren't making this easy for us. Here's to a better second period.
|
Hopefully the refs don't keep calling penalties like this. These are kind of uh... light penalties. Not playoff penalties. That's not the kind of stuff that should decide games.
|
Crazy start to the third: Two goals in the first couple minutes. Hopefully the Pens can roll on and make a comeback. We fucking need it.
|
Yeah, no. 6-1 w/ 7:55 left. Not happening.
Additional Spam: Well it's raining penalties for the Sens late, and it's 6-2. Not happening. Additional Spam: Crosby scores on the power play with 49 secs left. Not happening. Additional Spam: Ottawa wins, 6-3. Up in series 1-0. Penguins WILL win game 2. |
Yeah, Penguins had a terrible start, but the series seems to be even now.
Not getting the Nashville/San Jose game on TV, but I see San Jose is winning. Almost time for the Vancouver/Dallas game to start. |
Scott Hartnell kneed Jonathan Cheechoo in the second, got 5 minutes for that and got an ejection. And will probably miss a game or two.
Additional Spam: Ahaha, Brian Engblom. Saying Ristmiller (San Jose) won't sleep well tonight after giving the puck away that led to the game-tying goal. Oops. Ristmiller JUST scored the game-winner. |
Anyone else still up watching this Dallas/Vancouver game? Going into third overtime now. Vancouver is letting up a lot of shots, but the defense and Luongo are keeping them very much in this.
|
I totally forgot the playoffs started tonight, and when I went to go check the scores on SI, it said that OT was starting in this game. Super cool. :)
I don't watch any of it during the regular season, but nothing beats playoff hockey. |
