http://www.cheatsync.net/SVCapture.html

Just follow the instructions for 2.71 SE-C, but instead of just

[PSP_DRIVE]:\seplugins\vsh.txt
[PSP_DRIVE]:\seplugins\game.txt

also create a file named pops.txt with the same contents (ms0:/seplugins/capture.prx). Don't forget to enable your plugins from the recovery menu. That's all there is to it.

Oh, you might want to change Overwrite = YES to NO in the configuration file (capture.ini) if you don't want to overwrite older screenshots between sessions.

Hope this helps. Looking forward to some screenshots and custom game icons and backgrounds for your converted PlayStation games. ;-)

If I'm already in 3.03, I can't do any of that psx shit , right? =/

Guess'll have to wait a little longer X.x

Ha HA! Badass! You just netted me a new av/sig combo! I was having trouble with the brightness at first, until I finally figured out how to change that (even though it's still slightly off). Thanks a lot!

I managed to make some pretty sweet PSP wallpapers from the Gitaroo Man Lives! loading screens –

Are you talking Non OE-A!!? You're gonna be out...

FOR A WHILE!!! X_X

eprox1 Jan 5, 2007 10:24 PM

Well, he can still technically play PSX games, right? He just needs to buy them and transfer them over with a PS3...:(.

BIGWORM Jan 6, 2007 12:17 AM

Yeah, and those are the "official" games you buy from the store, not the ripped/converted ones like Klonoa: Door to Phantomile, that's on my PSP right now. =D

Just get 3.03 OE-A. I have 3.02 OE-B and its awesome. Sup UMD Auto-Boot Off, oh wait is that my PSP and PS3 playing together?

LS Jan 6, 2007 01:47 AM

Okay this might be very stupid question, But i heard you can play psx games on your psp? if so how

especially the one where you hook your usb into your computer, and the other way of loading the thing in your memory stick

I am confused bout this whole thing and if there is a chance would someone link me to an instruction on hwo to downgrade a system software of 2.81 if its available.

Radical Jan 6, 2007 02:25 AM

I don't think you can downgrade from 2.81 at the moment. As for PSX games, I'm not sure if you can play pirated e-boots if you don't have 1.5, 2.71SE, or one of the OE-x 3.0x's.

Sepharite Jan 6, 2007 03:09 AM

The highest downgradable FWis 2.80 so you're out of luck for now. But if it were to be released, http://pspupdates.qj.net would be the first to post it.

And no, if you don't have 3.02 OE-B (not the Sony FW, its custom developed), 1.5, or 2.71 then you can't play homebrew.

To legally do this, you need a PS3. To illegally do this, you need one of the OE-X firmwares and some conversion tools for PSX ISOs. Check out PSPupdates for more information, as usual.

LS Jan 6, 2007 04:19 AM

:( first i have to wait for a 2.81 downgrader right?

I will not become memory~

BIGWORM Jan 6, 2007 01:29 PM

K. My friend's friend obliviously updated his PSP to a 2.81. I remember him bragging about having a 1.5 and me having a 2.80, now it's the other way around. The PSX ISO conversion tool I use is PSX2PSP. It allow custom icons, gameboots, and titles. I still haven't gotten down the compression method though (runs through DOS). I'm just lazy, so I'll figure it out.

Latest version (7.1 or whatever) of PSX2PSP allows compression, it's in the options menu.

Sepharite Jan 6, 2007 02:57 PM

Isn't Popstation the exact same thing as PSX2PSP? And there's a readme that comes with Popstation - explains everything.

Thanks, I had an earlier version that didn't have the options tab.

PSX2PSP is a GUI for Popstation, so you don't have to type out stuff.

This is a stupid question but I lost my recharging adapter. I only have the half of it, the one that plugs into the PSP. However, I found my laptop charger that looks exactly the same and has the 3A/125V. I believe the PSP is 5A/125V. That's less, and less couldn't harm my PSP can it? It'll just recharge slower? I'm not desperate though, I'll buy another charger soon if it's not possible - probably one of those cheap 3rd party ones; I heard those work perfectly.

Krelian Jan 7, 2007 11:05 PM

If you're really that paranoid about it, I'd say the safest bet is to go get a USB power adapter for it. I lost my official charger in November 05.

Ken Hikari Jan 8, 2007 01:04 AM

Well, I'm digging the fact that I can play FFT finally now on my 3.03 OE-A2 PSP.

I've been using this awesome program called "PSPDocMaker" which allows you to make a game manual for the PSX game you are playing, aka like a players guide.

However, I copied a FAQ from the web onto a text file, and loaded that into this program. It was working just fine a while ago, I was able to read the faq in game, under the game manual options when hitting start in the PSP PSX Emulator.

However, after scrolling through a couple of pages of the FAQ, it suddenly booted me out, saying that there wasn't a software manual available, even though I was just reading one.

Now I can't get it to work right anymore.

Anyone know what I might try doing?

If the charger is too powerful or is not compatible with the PSP's AC adapter, the PSP will automatically recharge or not, causing no harm to the actual unit.

BIGWORM Jan 8, 2007 03:16 PM

I'm actually glad to have my OEM charger. It charges WAYY faster than a USB charger/data cable unit.

Sepharite Jan 8, 2007 09:09 PM

I got a MadCatz USB charger and it's been 3 hours already; and only 30% recharged. It usually takes 5 hours to full recharge (partly because my battery is almost dead?). Meh, I guess I'll have to leave it overnight.

Pietek, someone told me if you use over 5A, then it could overheat, burn, and possibly burn my house down. :tpg:

Pietak Jan 8, 2007 09:30 PM

I used over 5A, didn't recharge, light did not come on at all.

BIGWORM Jan 10, 2007 05:08 PM

Interesting. Mine's an older PSP (originally a 1.5fw)--it takes maybe about an hour, hour and a half at the most to fully charge...and that's while playing Tekken on it. Weird. =/ I think my data cable/charger is Pelican. You'd think I remember seeing I bought it 2 weeks ago.
