I'll admit I'm not a huge Final Fantasy fan, but I really want this one. It just seems a lot more mature than previous installments. I'm surprised everyone is talking about FFXIII when all we saw of that was a tiny ass trailer, and here we have what looks like an excellent game coming out later this year.

Really, if I wanted to complain, I could find something wrong with most of the voices, especially when compared to the excellent Japanese cast.

But as it stands, the quality and the way they actually sound like they're talking normally as opposed to reading out lines like American VAs usually, far exceeded anything I was expecting, what a wonderfully pleasant surprise.

Some lines are still hard to make out, but I think that's the best we'll be getting for now. Also, I'm pretty certain Crispin Freeman is playing Basch, which would absolutely rule (kind of good, kind of evil. that's freeman in a nutshell).

Thank god we have an "alive-voiced" Ashe rather than the sleepy Yuna. She was always... "oh..let's...laugh...together...let's make this...journey...full of laughter.." or some trite shit like that.

Im still not convinced about Fran's voice its sounds too childish if you know what I mean cos the Jap version is more like a mature Woman than being a teen :/

I like how past FF is already confusing to some people with pretty straight forward dialogues. Now we have characters that talks in pros. :/

The more I listen to Fran, the more of the image of the witch from Wizard of Oz comes to mind. She's got that somewhat scratchy voice to it.

You guys got your bunny girls wrong. The one with the witchy (witching? witcher?) voice is a different character, not Fran. Apparently she's the manufacturer of Nephicite, if I'm hearing the lines right.

Well I did see Fran's mouth move and "speak" while some voices were present, so either someone else was talking and she was chewing gum, or another character just happened to talk right before/after her that gave the impression, OR it's really her voice. =/

As well, finally got to try out the FFXII demo and I thought it was quite alright actually. It pretty much played out as expected from watching all those in game movies, so that's okay.

This game will be better than FFXIII. I'm 70 hours into the game and it's one of the best Final Fantasy games. I'm glad you're going to get the game, you will enjoy it.

FFXIII looks like a devil may cry game, i hope it's different or the change it.

He probably means the playable demo that came with Dragon Quest VIII.
The playable sections had no speech and the trailer had japanese dialogue with that awful american trailer narrator.

Yes Q is right.

For the first paragraph, it was for the English trailer.
The second was for the FFXII demo with DQVIII.

Also, the way that the English narrator says, "In the world of Ivalice, where, magic was commonplace...and airships plied the skies..." or something-a-rather was way over done. It was like watching a trailer for Spirits Within, or something. It wasn't annoying, but it wasn't very captivating.

I'd go so far to say that I'm looking forward very much to XII after playing the demo (which I found very fun, despite the comments posted here regarding said demo), but to say that X > Y at this point would be rather.... too quick to judge.

Sorry to say, but there will NOT be any japanese voices in the U.S version, so you really need to get over that fact. And besides, it's not as if you can do a more better job scouting VAs than Square Enix (which I don't think you can at all). Also, that's now how she says it <_<. If I heard that coming from you, I'd laugh my *** off (seriously).

Are you all professional VAs or something? I'm asking because I didn't hear anything wrong with the voices. So maybe it's just my untrained ear. I watch a lot of anime, and play a lot of video games and I found the English voices in that trailer to be perfectly fine. Far better than previous SE titles.
Couldn't the same thing be said of all the people who seem to already be worshipping it?
