Oh, and Dark Nation, did you post that in niki's thread? You need to post your latest album in niki's obscure VGM thread.

If you refer to Otonoishi, I did not! ... but I will! =D

Paco Nov 15, 2007 02:11 AM

Hey guys. I know it's a day late or so for a reminder but remember that all music posts go in the appropriate thread.

wvlfpvp Nov 15, 2007 08:23 AM

I don't see why you can't upload a doujin album to both the obscure VGM thread AND the MEC.

Paco Nov 15, 2007 10:47 AM

Oh, that's not what I meant. I meant that it got posted in this thread and not in the posting thread. I should've been more clear about that, my mistake.

Did I post that here? Ahh well I guess I didn't even realize. Woops!

Just out of robo-curiosity, has anybody dared to listen to the Anal Cunt album I uploaded?

wvlfpvp Nov 16, 2007 10:50 AM

I have it on my mp3 player. Track names make me giggle (but then, it's Anal Cunt)

"You Look Adopted" :tpg:

knkwzrd Nov 16, 2007 01:34 PM

I have the entire Anal Cunt discography. Great stuff.

Paco Nov 16, 2007 01:53 PM

I used to have it too. I nabbed it off OiNK back when before they got SHUT THE FUCK DOWN and when they still allowed entire discography torrents. I have no clue what happened to it but the two albums of theirs that I heard were solid.

Finally got around to listening to these--great contribution!

wvlfpvp Nov 16, 2007 10:34 PM

So I've now heard two of the Diablo Swing Orchestra tracks as randomized by my mp3 player and I have to say FUCKING AWESOME HOLY SHIT.

Tagonist Nov 17, 2007 05:28 AM

Anal Cunt: Yeah, it's something one should have listened to, just to know what it is. The nomenclature and everything is nice enough (naysayers would call it "immature" and "desperatly trying to be provocant), and I readily recognize the effort that's going into playing stuff like that...
But... personally, I like music that sounds diffrent when I push fast forward on my CD-player. :P So that puts AC right next to Dark Funeral on my list of "Bands you can listen to in fast forward or backward without actually missing the point".

Diablo Swing Orchestra:
Awesome stuff. Goth-Metal (which does neither take "goth" nor "metal" too serious, which is very important) and Swing-ish styles aren't really something you'd expect to hear mixed together.

nanaman Nov 17, 2007 09:43 AM

I'm glad you guys liked the CDs I posted :) But that's no wonder, cause they're just that good :D

To you who haven't heard Dream Theater, I recommend the CDs sprouticus posted, they're are one band you just gotta listen to.

Also, I'm just about to post an album made by the genius Arjen Lucassen, IMO it's one of the best albums out there. Check it out!

I'm glad you agree ;)

I'm going to try to post one album a day until I exhaust my collection, which is pretty expansive. I have most everything except their debut album and a few bootlegs.

nanaman Nov 17, 2007 11:18 AM

Well, it doesn't matter if you haven't gotten their debut album IMO, if I'd say it myself I don't think their debut album is that very good. Ok, there might be some people that would like it more than I do, but I just can't find it as good as the other albums.

Wall Feces Nov 17, 2007 11:36 AM

I have heard it's lackluster, but I wouldn't mind hearing it, if anything just to have it in the collection and to hear what Dominici sounded like.

Falling Into Infinity is extremely blech as well... The only dull spot in my DT collection is that album. I don't plan on uploading it because it's not very good, and the best stuff from that album can be found on their live stuff.

Also, great timing on uploading Ayreon. I've heard alot about them and have been looking to get into them. I'm going to download it as soon as I get home from work :)

nanaman Nov 17, 2007 04:34 PM

Just so that you know, Ayreon is not a band, but a project led and written/composed by Arjen Lucassen. The artists he has "recruited" for the various projects are many, like James LaBrie for an example (personally the Human Equation is where I think James LaBrie has done his best on any album ever) ;) And you could find other known musicians like Bruce Dickinson (Iron Maiden), Mikael Åkerfeldt (Opeth), Russell Allen/Michael Romeo (Symphony X) among others in his many CDs of the Ayreon project. You can check the complete list here.

Wall Feces Nov 17, 2007 05:26 PM

Yeah I did some reading up on them while at work. This CD is really marvelous so far. I DEMAND MOAR!

Skexis Nov 19, 2007 04:33 PM

I listened to Powerglove.
And then I shed tears of pure joy.

Wall Feces Nov 19, 2007 05:16 PM

I can't wait to get home so I too can partake in the glory that is Powerglove. It sounds mindblowingly epic.

nanaman Nov 19, 2007 06:29 PM

I will be giving Powerglove a try, even though I hate most power metal. It sure sounds interesting.

For more awesome, check out the free songs on their site:

Index of /music

Tetris, The Decisive Battle and Mute City are made of awesome (although I prefer Machinae's version of the latter).

nanaman Nov 20, 2007 11:58 AM

Well, I'm doing some requests on the old thread once again, hope you guys won't mind again!

These are the ones I want now

Atheist - Elements
Autechre - Incunabula
Ayou - Aoi
Asako Toki - Debut
B-Tribe - Sensual Sensual
Bark Psychosis - Codename: Dustsucker
Bernard Herrmann - Taxi Driver
Bill Hicks - Rant in E Minor

That'll do for now :P

I might be adding some more great music for download later tonight, so stay in tune for that!

http : / / 67.55.54.146/bkup/NAME OF THE FILE YOU WANT

will almost always get you a file from the old thread. Just use Artist - Album format and throw a .zip or .rar at the end at it will probably show right up.
