Sealstones alone will make your veins pop. Equip Descaling Might and Dragon Slayer plus boost it up with ATK up items or so. This will help bring down both Bahamut and Tiamat in about two rounds or less. Now get a couple of ATK up sealstones (Like previously mentioned: Sword Blessing, Yggdrassil's Blessing, Desperate Soldier's Law, Sharp Sword Sealstone-thingy or if possible, as much as you have) and pray that you can finish them off in 2 - 3 rounds maximum without the trouble of losing entirely that bonus gauge. In my situation, I had to use Freya (With Heavenly Punishment - sets the Soul crush bar at 100 provided that every attack hits {It's about 14 hits; +10 increase in bar per hit} while at her final somersault everyone attacks in to get good damage), Hrist (Gungnir), Arngrim (Before Tyrfing, Sword of the Meek), and Rufus (Everything goes here but it's either Soothsayer's Bow or something else; I used Mistletein). For Tyrfing, it's a couple of pages back. Just attack him and hope that your sealstones and ATK items would being his HP slightly far to "L" because if it isn't, Tiamat will heal. Bad thing. And oh, if you are unsure if the ATK will go beyond L (due to good damage dishout), just cancel the last person in line. Usually anyway. For Bahamut, same strategy; just make sure you won't get hit that much or the bar drops. He has higher HP but I noticed he never heals (I think). --- Concentrating now on getting Perfect Release weaponry. I suppose for Heavy Warriors - Tyrfing; Light Warriors - Helgi's Sword (Dainslef is only one weapon but it blows. Might as well get Levantine due to 1000 MAG. Just boost the MAG respectably; Archers - Soothsayer's Bow and Mages - Holy Wand of Telos. Hell, I won't even bother with the other equipment. Maybe. -- Or for harder progress in SG, I suppose Sheated Power's Wrath will do with Yggdrassil's Blessing, Sword Blessing and either Six Elements' Blessing / Lifeforce Blessing. Hell, Lifeforce Blessing should be good when combined with Metabolizer and First Aid. Maybe. |

Yes Lenneth is Valkyrie.
And if Treasure Search shows a little floating red orb when there's a treasure chest in the area, then yes. |
And what's the best party?
|
Whatever you prefer it's not a bit difference. I always keep Arngrim and Lawfer and usually Mystina.
Arngrim you get right away, Lawfer in chapter 2 or 3. Mystina in chapter 5. |
Is vp1 ost better than vp2?
|
I had meant to ask this a while back. But does anyone here walk with the joystick through towns or dungeons or wherever, just to observe the beauty of the backgrounds and stuff? I do. I don't do it excessively, but I take the time to look around and look at all the 3d models of shit in houses, and notice all the little nuances that the game makers put in for aesthetic value. Really pretty game...
Anyway. After a "respite" (as Lezard just said in the cutscene in the lost forest) from this game, I'm coming back and playing it through again with one star for my previous playthrough. I haven't done the Seraphic Gate yet... but so far, since I kinda know what's up with the story, cutscenes are a bit more interesting with that hindsight. I have a question for people who have played 2/3 of the game: Spoiler:
|
How long does this game take to be finished?
|
Oh, Valkyrie Profile. Both of them. So lovely.
I personally liked the second soundtrack better than the first; while "Unfinished Battle with God" had a great sound to it, Lenneth's soundtrack as a whole was kind of grating at times because of the constant metal. Silmeria's soundtrack, while subdued by comparison, I feel is a lot more appropriate with the feel of the game. Also, whatup, Xellos. :D |
That's a nice thing for me to know ^^. Hope i'll like the vp2 ost as much as vp1 one, or even more ^^.

Just started playing it. It's a neat game so far. I'm currently stuck on Chapter 3, the Crawsus Forest Ruins. Damn, I need to know what to do, I know it's something about putting certain Sealstones on Dais'. I have Zunde (level 39), Adonis (level 40), Alicia (level 39) Lezard (level 40), Dylan (level 40) and Mithra (level 38) as my main characters. I haven't bothered to use the others, because at the time I got them they were too weak in comparison to my other characters. I was wondering, what EXACTLY do you have to bloody do? It's bloody damn hard, the puzzle, not the enemies, the enemies are dead easy. Especially with Lezard's Spiritual Thorn/Chaotic Rune spell.
|
If I remember correctly it involves just swapping the two sealstones with the other two dais that are hanging around. There are a couple empty ones at the end of a few of those paths.
Also, you might want to consider levelling up Arngrim and Leone for some <3 action later on. :D |
I should've beaten this the first month I got the game...So!
There are a few things I need to know. I'm already at the Tower of Lezard Valeth. Nice storyline, etc. Just wish there was more to it >=/. How much should I level up? My people are almost at 50. Certain Equipment. Certain characters to use on the final boss. Also, I noticed some things on the skills menu. I barely have anything for them but I manage to go this far o.o;. Are there a few skills I need to learn to survive whatever bullshit death attack they cast on? EDIT: Im at the Transcended Being-Lezard battle. I took a look at a sloppy gamefaq but no luck. When that damn seal is broken I can't even get a good hit since my AP is low and when i charge it up, It goes back to being protected -_-. |
Generally one of the best skill combos I've used is to equip everyone with First Aid, with the Lifeforce Blessing sealstone held. What it does (most of the time) is that it fully recovers damage taken from an attack (50% recovered from First Aid, doubled from the sealstone.) In conjunction with Survival, it makes your team very hard to kill. Some of the attack skills (Triple Edge, etc.) are nice but if you're having problems there's lots of options.
You don't need to completely beat down Lezard to get his seal to break; just enough for him to fall down (which should only take abour 40 AP.) If you're positioned between Lezard and the crystal, you could turn around and then blitz what you have left. Alternatively, notice that Lezard's attacks also hit the Crystal in the middle. So if you just draw his attack range to hit the crystal too, you'll whittle it down that much faster. |

You know, I didn't get what you meant in the first paragraph til I went and started to equip a few things. I never knew there was more to that equip system =/.. So I'm here wasting 3 hours leveling up a few things to obtain the skills. Heh.. I really miss how easy it was in VP1. So far I'm working them up to lvl 50. So I went and decided to visit the SG and got my ass handed to lol. |

50 is absolute suicide.. I think. I went there at level 70 and still reel from the attack. Level 99 and things are just a tad bit easier. Just remember that sealstones are -very- vital for success, as well as equipment and strategy. It's just that the final boss located at the bottom of SG takes a long time for me to defeat (hit-and-run tactics lawlz). |

If I remember correctly, I was able to handle at least the first level of Seraphic Gate somewhere in the level range of late 40's to mid 50's; as long as you can get past the archer who's guarding the entrance, the first level is very managable with a properly equipped party. Lezard's Tower is probably a good place to level up anyway, since a lot of the enemies at the upper levels will occasionally drop powerful weapons/equipment.
Personally, I find that mages are a bit too inefficient in most cases late game; for enemies like ghosts (that you do encounter in Seraphic Gate) it's usually just faster to equip innate elemental attacks (like an archer's Aiming/Rising Wisp attacks) or to have Ghost Buster skills on. |
Beating Dirma is ridiculously easy. Just send in your toughest unit alone, and maneuver carefully.
|
Slight off topic, but does anyone know if anyone has scanned the Visual Profile 2 art book? I found scans frm VP1's artbook, but not the 2nd one.
And is there any possible way to get those books anymore? |
Any idea what to do with status boosting items? I don´t want to waste them on Characters that will leave the party for good (already checked that out) or Characters I`ll most probably not use towards the end of the game. Alicia and Rufus may be a good choice, but I think it´s not necessary to spoil them too much, so I saved most of the status boosters until now (Chapter 5). Any recommendations which einherjar I should definitely keep for the rest of the game?
|
Up to you really. I gave them ALL to Arngrim. He was hitting for 50k with his weakest attacks. Was well worth it giving it to just him. Just make sure that you give heavy swordsman the best swords before you transfer them. They will give 99 of those +5 strength ones each.

Hmm, I´m the first time in Asgard right now (approx 50hrs of playtime, Level 33 average) and the way up to Yggdrasil is a real pain. It´s not that I´m seriously underleveled, fighting is not a problem most of the time, but now it happened to me twice, that my party was slain instantly. The first time one of the ghost-like enemies erased my entire troup with transfer ailment at once (which means game over), the second time one of the Giants (they usually aren´t that strong) dealt way too much damage thanks to a critical hit, and my party was gone. Unfortunately, this always happened after one hour of treasure-hunting and leveling. So I´m in for a third run tomorrow, this time I´ll leave earlier for the savepoint, that´s for sure.

Yggdrasil is godforesakenly awful. Christ, getting the treasures there bothers me though.
But the next dungeon is awesome. |

But with the insta-transfer...that just really sucks. |
