I'm actually still playing VS now. I made an entry some time back, and Q was all over it like white on rice.

Also, LOL at VaNgrant Story. My awesome typo skills at work. I won't edit it, it's just funny that way. =D Sure is a great game.

Here's another picture of the Vaan figure by Kotobukiya. They're also making FF13's heroine, posted the pic in the FF13 forum.

I've noticed the articulation on most of the FF figures, starting out with the AC line, are not too bad, but where there's a joint over the flesh colored areas, that's where it sticks out like sore thumb. But then again, these look pretty decent for about 1/12 size figures. I'm not expecting anything with 1/6 size because that's a whole different ball game. I'd wish they'd come how cover the front leg sockets with perhaps a small plastic "skirt", but it's still looks okay. : )

This Final Fantasy was the most fun for me program years ago since I learned how to merge RTS strategy with turn based strategy. I'm really looking forward to seeing this game once it's finished since it looks like it will have a story deep enough to rival Final Fantasy Tactics - and we all know we were playing as the villain in Tactics because of how Ramza's parents spoiled him. I imagine we'll get to see some interesting political struggles in this game that will objectively show which victor will truly be right in their struggle for justice.

Speaking of FFXII, the official soundtrack comes in two and a half weeks :D. This' something to look forward to.

CuteChocobo May 15, 2006 03:07 AM

Hell yeah, hope they dun pull another delay quote :p

Hurry up and play Chrono Trigger, sir. :P

I prefer the stylisation of this game over everything between VII and XI - It's something new, and something pretty. Might be the first FF I've actually played and enjoyed since VI.

Haha, how funny, maybe I should have taken pictures of the SE booth at E3 and posted the figurines. :p FFXII was the only game I got to touch while at E3 and I played it for like 2 mins and died. It is exactly like FFXI so I'm interested in seeing how the rest of the game unfolds. I'm a little sad about the no random battles thing, but I'm sure I'll get over it.

CuteChocobo May 16, 2006 07:50 AM

Ohh dun worry about lack of random battles... your aggro range will pull you enough battles that you will get so annoyed by it at the end.

Still can't find the English trailer for FFXII :(

map car man words telling me to do things May 17, 2006 04:31 AM

So am I to assume SE didn't show the english trailer after all? You'd think it'd have surfaced in downloadable form by now if they did.

You effin' liar. You're playing Vagrant Story about as much as I'm playing Star Ocean 3. As in, not a whole lot as I sold my copy three months ago.

Played it and got that wild cave woman chick, didn't play much after. Sorry.

Oh shit, I got busted playing GTA: SA instead!

And after getting FFXII, I'll probably still put that one on the back burner. >_>

Eh, don't worry about it. Because sooner or later when FFXII gets close to the U.S release. I'm sure that you'll get to see some short english trailers.

English trailer, shit quality but you can make out the dub:

Sounds outstanding.

The accents add a neat little feel to the game. I wanted to hear Balthier's voiceover the most, but the voice samples on Gideon Emery's site satisfy my curiosity.

Fran sounds little iffy, but maybe it's just the quality of the recording. Penelo sounds far younger than I expected.

Cobalt Katze May 24, 2006 09:01 PM

Panelo pretty much sounds just like Rikku from that one line she said.

Overall I'm extremely pleased with the voices. The various dialects should lend themselves well to Alex Smith's translation. Of course, we have whiny hero treatment #whatever, but even the Japanese didn't like their version of the character's voice too much.

Magi May 24, 2006 09:16 PM

Wow, this sounds better then anything that they had came up so far, even though not all of them is quite there. ^.^ I think I can really get into this.

Rydia May 24, 2006 10:57 PM

The dub seems good even with the quality of that trailer. Vaan's voice was just as I expected and reminded me of Tidus, but I like how Ashe sounded.

Spatula May 24, 2006 11:01 PM

Hey! Not bad! For once I don't have to cringe over the voice acting. The accents do add quite a unique touch to them, and none of them sound too bad, actually, pretty damn good so far! Although Fran does sound somewhat like the witch from Wizard of Oz, from what I heard. >_>

Soldier May 24, 2006 11:46 PM

I really want to see the trailer, but someone just PM'd me, saying the video was played on G4 today. I'll probably wait for the G4 trailer to be uploaded, which hopefully won't be too long.

Casaubon May 24, 2006 11:48 PM

That was the G4 trailer in the link. It's just a crappy quality since they used a camera.

I really like pretty much all of the voices. Story looks good, even if they did steal magicite from FFXI.

Soldier May 24, 2006 11:57 PM

Oh, in that case (watches)

Even from the garbled sound quality, I could tell that the voice acting is phenomenal. I'm so glad they decided to go with accents again, considering how well it worked with DQVIII. Vayne and the Judgemasters sound especially incredible. And Ashe is definetely played by Karen (Shadow Hearts 2), but I'm not certain if Vaan is really played by Joshua Seth. Also, I'm pretty sure I heard Crispin Freeman in there (wouldn't be surprised).

Can't believe I have to wait until October. Dammit Square.

Is this release period even confirmed. I honestly cannot see why they'd hold up on this any longer.

Soldier May 25, 2006 12:52 AM

Seems so. The date was revealed during E3. Granted it's a month earlier than the original date (November), but still.

Andrew Evenstar May 25, 2006 01:57 AM

damn that trailer was awesome, i'm like 60+ hours into the game and that seems like a totally different game since I have no idea whats going on in the story.
