My list doesn't take into account conversion rate, which only Microsoft has the numbers on.
Also, since it's going on conv. rate only and not sales, you could still see popular games getting canned if enough people downloaded the trial (but not full version). Unlikely, but going purely off their statement for delisting eligibility, it's possible. EDIT: Copy+Pasting the top 10 list also serves to show how pointless basing delisting off metacritic is. Who cares what websites rate games if the consumers are enjoying them. Stupid. |
Keep in mind that stuff like the auto demo download option would do nothing if not artificially drive down conversion rates.
|
Well, you know, maybe they set it up so the auto download registers differently from a --
Who am I kidding, if they have to go in after the fact and delete shitty games they definitely didn't have the foresight to make the autodownload not affect a metric like conversions. |
Here is a cleaned-up and more focused list, for anyone who cares, which filters out games younger than 6 months and games with no conversion rate (free). I have conversion rates for all 2005-2006 games in an excel sheet somewhere, but beyond those, it's up to Microsoft to release the numbers.

Gamescore blog is insisting that you'll be able to redownload the titles after it has been delisted, if you already bought it.
While that's one of about a potential dozen concerns addressed, the whole thing is stull absurd. |
They only mention redownloading through the Download History, which just sounds like a canned response that nobody actually thought through since we all know using the download history isn't a viable solution. I doubt they've honestly gone out of their way to think through it enough to actually give you an alternate way to redownload them.
|
I too, agree with that sentiment. Especially since other downloaded stuff from the history that's been removed from the marketplace is no longer available to be redownloaded through that list.

Guh, I haven't even taken advantage of Live Arcade yet. This just makes me reluctant to ever do so.

So guys, I'm looking for fun 4-players games to play with friends locally and I'm a little lost since most of the games I found are for 2-players locally and 4-16 in live.
I already have: - 3D Ultra Minigolf - Bomberman Live - N+ (best multiplayer so far) - Eets: Chowdown - Dead or Alive 4 - Perfect Dark Zero What am I missing? Any type of game is welcome as long as it's fun in multiplayer. |
Since you said any type of game is acceptable, I will go ahead and suggest Rock Band. It is four players local, and fun, assuming someone is willing and able to sing, and someone is able to play drums.
|
We kinda thought about Rock Band. We used to play guitar freaks a lot in the past, even a friend got the drums for guitar freaks & drummania V2. The thing with rock band is that none of us speak good english so we would be mumbling the song's lyrics and making up words. Second thought, that would be pretty fun I guess.
Do you need to sing the actual word or just the right tone? |
The latter, you can hum along if you so desire.
|
If anyone still cares, it appears Mr. Driller has been patched. For all of you who didn't beg Microsoft for a refund, get online so I can find some opponents.
|
I wouldn't really call it begging. I was off that phone in 10 minutes. Most other people who got refunds didn't have a lot of trouble with it either.
Be sure to tell us if it actually works now if you do find a game. I think Mo0 still has it. |
I played a bunch of games with Tritoch before I posted with no problems. I just bought the game over the weekend, and thus far I haven't found anyone else online, probably because news about the patch hasn't been widespread.

Aces of the Galaxy & Roogoo This will be the second week in a row that has given us a double release, what do you guys think about that? Perhaps this is why Microsoft are delisting games, you know? for listing more "crap"!? Aces of the Galaxy is a space shooter (if it wasn't then that would be a stupid title) that supports both local and live multiplayer, which is cool if you have friends to play with (if you don't... ah well) and judging by the screenshots it looks like it's going to play like StarFox. Here's a few of my fave screens: Spoiler:
Roogoo however doesn't look good to me at all: Roogoo (Xbox 360) |
I'd be more optimistic about Aces of the Galaxy if I had heard of it before this weekend. Good games don't usually pop up out of nowhere. Still, I'm curious to try the demo.
|
Aces has been announced for a while. I've been looking forward to at least trying it for months. Hopefully the co-op works and the game itself is a bit of fun. I haven't read early impressions anywhere yet, so hard to gauge.
|
Having just tried the demo to Aces I can say that it's fun. You get 2 levels - I actually got a 5 star rating on level 2 with a score of 2,358,624 (which is pretty good for me). The one thing I noticed that's not up to scratch is everytime you do a barrel roll the framerate drops a little but apart from that, it's almost as good as StarFox.
After playing the demo I think I'll be grabbing this one on the weekend, I hope multiplayer works ok too, I've never ran into any trouble with multiplay XBLA games thus far. |
Xbox 360 Discussion. Thermal paste, the delicious and nutricious snack of the future.
Ok so heres the problem.....
I got GTAIV eager to play it and i put it in, started it up and then started playing it and it was fine, Then after a few hours it crashed. I thought "ok i heard this can happen it's alright" so i restarted the Xbox and started playing it again and the crashing became more frequent and more often to the point i had to get it replaced. Once i did i thought it would be fine now but soon enough it was playing up again crashing all the time and i can't work it out, My Xbox is less than a half a year old and in perfect condition and the disc hasn't got a scratch in sight so what's wrong? All your ideas are welcome!:D |
Try clearing your hard drive cache I guess.
With the Xbox 360 Hard Drive attached to the console, follow these steps: a. Locate the System section of the Xbox 360 Dashboard. b. Select Memory, select Hard Drive, and then press Y to view the device options screen. c. On the Xbox 360 Controller, press the X button, press the X button again, press the left bumper, press the right bumper, press the X button, and then press the X button again. d. You will be prompted to confirm system maintenance, select Yes by pressing A. source |
We have both a thread on 360s and a thread on GTA where this could have been asked. Merging with the former, since it sounds like your 360's at fault.

Are there new controllers with improved d-pads coming soon? Apparently so:
Quote:
About bloody time too. That said, the article linked includes photos which don't look all that different to me. I really hope they sort it out as the d-pads on the 360 controller are terrible. |
Sounds like the shape and position (which were the problem) are not fixed, now it'll just use more directions. Which to me would by all accounts translate as even more innaccurate for games requiring 8 directions or even less.
