You know, at least this Versus fuck has the most realistic hair out of the emo-Cloud hair styles. Finally the graphics got good enough that they don't look completely out of this world.

I'm shocked no one has listed all of the damn Final Fantasy games with their preconceived ideas of what each game represents.

"Ooo! Final Fantasy 5 = BATTLE Setting! Final Fantasy 7 = Medievievl Punk! Final Fantasy 13 looks like it's Super Punk! ^___^"

Seriously, Final Fantasy fans, that is the most obnoxious thing you can do. Name yourself Cloud17822 before you do that shit.

I hate myself for liking the style that Nomura clearly does. Please, someone, kill me, but I love that FFVersusXIII fuck's outfit. .___.

Still, wish there was something a bit different, as that's prettymuch been the outfit of choice for over 10 years, now.

Here's some new scans. Which's based on the Cloud DVD which released last December

You know, I do have to admit, I am very happy that the blond guy seems to not be a pretty boy.

Or at least a realistic pretty boy.

Zeta26 Jan 5, 2008 07:52 PM

lol So Cloud of FFVII is then?

Nall Jan 5, 2008 10:18 PM

Sometimes I'm amazed at how good Square's 3D department is. Check out the corduroy on Mystery Man's jacket. If regular gameplay looks nearly as good, we're in for a treat. Square's White Engine is supposed to be pretty powerful, so the line between FMVs and normal graphics might not be too far off.

Zeta26 Jan 5, 2008 11:56 PM

Well, it's thanks to also PS3's Blue Ray "High End" graphics. Which stuff like this can't be performed on the PS2, 360 muchless the Wii.

Inhert Jan 6, 2008 05:30 AM

It's not because you have a game on a blu-ray disk that magically the game become HD >.> The 360 could really well run FFXIII. Much like it is running DMC4, Assassin's Creed and other next-gen title that are multiplatform...

(can someone just shut this moron now? god...)

Grilled Carrots Jan 6, 2008 05:41 PM

Heh, no need to start a retarded discussion, Blu-Ray has nothing to do with the "HD capabilities" of a console... but at the same time, ports are the worst possible example to measure the capabilities of two consoles.

Besides, we are talking about an exclusive title for the ps3.

Zeta26 Jan 8, 2008 11:15 AM

True that Blue Ray isn't the main factor. As it's mostly due to Square Enix's exclusive White Engine that's on the PS3 that makes this photo-realistic HD graphics.

Personally though, I think these games are shaping up to be more better than Lost Odyssey. Dispite only having seen a few trailers.

Excellent. Industrial Light & Magic, eat your heart out. Square's White Engine is here.

Dark Nation Jan 8, 2008 10:09 PM

Strange, when I click the thumbnail, nothing comes up.

Anyways the graphics are nice to be sure, but I would definitely NOT say Photo-realistic. You can even pickout where the seams meet on the sword's texture mapping that the big ugly is holding. The skin in particular looks artificial, much like the character models in Doom 3, they have that forced 'wetness', which shows up here on the skin. Above all, the most obvious reason its not photo-realistic is the "Jaggies, as there is still a degree of Anti-Aliasing that needs to be done to the render.

I still cant believe this game didn't made it into OPMs upcoming games of '08 issue, made me think that it got delayed or something.

Slayer X Jan 8, 2008 10:27 PM

None the less. It's going to be the cover story of next month's EGM. Therefore there should be about 8 pages of details on the game. Can't wait. Especially after their Street Fighter 4 cover story.

Zeta26 Jan 9, 2008 02:01 AM

For EGM or any other game magazine it'll just be the same, which they'll report on what we already know. Like info on the past trailers and recent. And pics we may already have seen as well.

Graphically the game still looks preeetty and Lightening still looks cool as ever. The new girl in Versus is good looking.

Other than that... Not much to say about the GAME itself....

Zeta26 Jan 17, 2008 01:17 PM

Here's one for Versus XIII.

Final Fantasy XIII/13 ~ FF-XIII.net

So called track from Versus OST is release on the net, from Yoko's new VGM compliation album. BUT.... (Look Below)

Regarding the album itself, Yoko has handpicked a number of tracks and will be performed by an overseas orchestra.

EDIT: According to NEOGAF, its fake. Its a piece called Makubex from Get Backers anime.

SouthJag Feb 16, 2008 06:57 PM

And they're right. I'd recognize that theme anywhere, and it is "Makubex" from Get Backers. It'd be a cool FF theme though.

Hachifusa Feb 18, 2008 06:42 PM

How are the games in the Final Fantasy XIII franchise all related? Are they all completely separate stories?

Inhert Feb 18, 2008 06:47 PM

we don't really know how much they are connected, but FFXIII and VsXIII are suppose to have some connection in term of mythology or something and maybe a similar universe. they seem pretty different and seem to all have different storyline, but if they have group them together there must be something that tie them together.

Slayer X Feb 19, 2008 06:25 AM

XIII is about a thousand years before VS XIII I heard. That way the player gets to see what effects they had on the world and it's future after XIII. Also it allows them to sequelize the game while maintaining seperate storylines for newcomers who miss XIII.

Or sao I heard back a year ago in EGM's cover story on the XIII franchise. It could all be wrong or have changed by this point. I don't know.
