All stuff I do not want to do or have not been able to do (50 hours of brawling, 5000 KOs, beat 100-man brawl with everyone.. etc etc).

I ended up smashing some of the decent ones with the hammer. Basically, the ones you mentioned.

Plus, if there was a hammer behind it. I smashed it. So I wouldn't lose a damn thing.

I forgot I had that USB thingy. I've been connecting to my router and
so far based on several matches with Tritoch the connection was pretty smooth.

I noticed maybe a quarter of a second delay between inputs and them being carried out sometimes, but that actually made planning a bit easier. A split second sometimes is all that it takes.

Oh and what the flying fuck is up with Toon Link? Fucker beat me twice when he Challenged and Appeared

Lacerta Mar 11, 2008 02:11 PM

Kind of a shame that Fire Emblem and Mother are not in the Masterpieces list anymore, but then again, the Mother demo would almost expire from just reading through the text.

Some of these demo times are pretty funny though.

Has anyone had the chance to see the hilarity that is the Mr. Resetti assist trophy? I would've enjoyed it more had I not been playing an All Star challenge at the time >_>

Oh, also, can someone throw me a bone in what they're actually looking for in terms of 100% completion for SSE? Is it just picking up all the possible trophies in a stage? Because for some of them, I'm damn sure I got em all, yet I don't get that nice little flag on my map.

I hate him. I died because I was too busy reading the text (and I was the one who used him, even!)

100% Completion in SSE is opening all doors, finishing all stages, breaking open all orange cubes, and picking up any trophies that are lying in the stage that are one time.

A flag means you are incomplete, a crown means you are 100% complete (for the stage).

I had him pop out of a trophy I picked up during an Event Match #31 (The Ultimate Bodyguard, where you as Marth defend Zelda from 2 Ganondorfs). After a minute or so of his babbling my thoughts were best summarized as "OMG WILL YOU F***ING SHUT UP!!!!" :annoyed: I think I lost that attempt. :><:

By the way, for anybody interested, me and Audiophile are trying to get a group together to tag the game's music here.

For the number accumulation ones? Considering they'll just be unlocked eventually through some playtime, I don't see how it's a good idea to smash them for 'em. Some of the really hard stuff will require those hammers. There is only a limited amount of those things and all.

That said, I am going to order the official ethernet adaptor for the Wii from Nintendo and pick up a small switch and see if that helps anything. At the very least, it'll negate my WAP as the potential problem.

Sousuke Mar 11, 2008 04:31 PM

About the Challenge wall... I grabbed one of my hammers and just randomly picked a window, and... Well, heh. I wasn't allowed to break that window, apparently. The hammer wouldn't work. Now I know there are windows like this, but I found it amusing that the FIRST one I chose was one of those unbreakable ones.

My friend code.

I added a bunch of people from the wiki list, and I can't seem to log on to my wiki account. Let's play, bitches.

You probably ended up picking one of the hardest challenges then (those are ones that cannot be broken). How lucky? Unlucky? Who knows!

Jurassic Park Chocolate Raptor Mar 11, 2008 04:51 PM

So which ones can't be broken? I had assumed it would be things like unlocking all characters, because you can't really go have All-Star Mode if everyone isn't unlocked yet.

Don't tell me it's stuff like the kill 5 people in cruel brawl one, because that one can eat a large variety of penis.

Chaotic Mar 11, 2008 04:53 PM

I tried that one. Failed horribly. And Skills, in retrospect, that was a bad fucking idea. :tpg:

But if you do attempt to break an unbreakable hammer, do you end up losing the hammer?

One of them is Beat Boss Battles on Very Hard, I think.

Basically stuff that is V. Hard & Intense?

The 5 people in Cruel Brawl is easy... it is the

Spoiler:
10 people in Cruel Brawl

that made me angry.

So any tips on how to easily beat the crap out of those alloys in Cruel Melee? Using DK totally doesn't work. :(

Getting very lucky with Ike!

I've seen a video on how to do it with Kirby/Ike/Marth/etc without getting too badly harmed, but it is totally cheap.

It involves doing this (video inside):

Easiest but Cheapest way to beat Cruel Brawl (works with various others):

I am slowly working on the Collect all Stickers and Collect all Trophies challenges.

Very slowly. For I have little desire to fight the SSE bosses waiting for those trophy bases >_>;

Josiah Mar 11, 2008 05:17 PM

Yeah, that's pretty much the idea I came up with on my own, but with Pit. Got 8 or 9 that way. (Go fig I only needed one or two more without knowing for sure to unlock something else. :><: )

As for the last event battle, I managed that on normal with Ike. His Counter works wonders sometimes against a Giant Mario.

Remind me how that works? Can you just nail them with it as soon as one happens to appear, or do you have to get their health bar down a ways before chucking it at them, or what?

...And someone please tell me the highest challenge for combined distances of Home Run Contests is 37,500 ft. I think I'll die if it's something like 50,000.

Oh, I remember doing that with Roy in Melee. I actually manged to get 21 KOs one time just based on the knockback from his Up+B.

They have to be almost dead, otherwise it just gets absorbed and nothing happens. The same is true for various enemies in SSE.

Chaotic Mar 11, 2008 05:46 PM

I'm probably gonna cry trying to get the boss trophies. :tpg:

Well, I managed to try out that little trick. Got 7 KOs using Fox.

Lacerta Mar 11, 2008 05:53 PM

I almost had one for Diddy & Fox's boss but I dropped the base (you kinda have to unless you just want to fight with your B attacks only), and when I turned around to do a hit, it ended up wiping all of its life out, denying me my trophy attempt.

Sousuke Mar 11, 2008 07:04 PM

As for using the hammers on the Challenge Wall... You don't lose the hammer if the window is unbreakable, thankfully.

You want a pain? Try my attempts at Jigglypuff. Both times the fucker got the smash ball and promptly wasted it, and both times I was killed by a bullshit method.

The second was ESPECIALLY humiliating. I was Falco, and had just done a back-A in midair to hit Jiggly. I was falling to the bottom platform, when a fucking BOB-OMB APPEARED RIGHT UNDER MY FUCKING FEET.

I hit it, it exploded, I died. THAT was a pure rage-quit right there.:mad::mad:

Chaotic Mar 11, 2008 07:24 PM

So DN has Toon Link story, losing twice.

Griff has a Jigglypuff story, losing twice.

I have a Wolf story, losing twice.

Mine is more embarrassing since I ended up just getting KOed by him normally... When he had just the same amount of health as I did. :tpg:

Also, does anyone know if there are extra options in Brawl mode? You know, being able to decide what stages end up on random... Or even just turning Friendly Fire on. It honestly sucks not being able to hit your teammate. T_T

Jigglypuff got me at least 4 times. Almost all (but not quite all) of them was simply the result of absurd unluckiness/stupidity. Wolf's side-B off the edge to my death/dragoon ship death/assist trophies etc. Anyway, I got the bitch eventually.

I unlocked some extra options by playing a bunch of brawls and friendly fire was there. I don't know if you can choose which stages appear in random, but I have to assume it would be included since it was in melee (although I'm not sure how you unlock it).

Sousuke Mar 11, 2008 07:49 PM

One thing I miss is being able to tap 'down' to make yourself fall faster. They should've left that in... I find myself doing it all the time because I'm falling too slowly, and NOTHING HAPPENS. D:

As for the random switch, I think I unlocked something like that. I saw that I got 'Random Stage Select' or something while playing regular Brawls, but I haven't actually checked out the option yet.
