It's pretty much been that way with FF soundtracks since the beginning.

Seriously? Cool thank for clearing that up ^ ^

The Square Enix conference at E3 is about to begin but in the meantime it looks like we're going to be seeing an FFXII line of figures from Play Arts/Koto:

Square's conference is today? What time (EST)? Crap, I didn't know about this.
Anyway, one thing I'm really looking forward to is an english preview of FFXII. I hope we get a chance to hear the voice actors in action, especially considering the Vagrant Story-level dialogue. I also hope for a release date earlier than November. |

I'll be damned. Well, at least it's not the same month as the PS3. My wallet is in Square's debt.

Some other announcements from Square including FFV & VI for the GBA.
Double Post: Hefty long trailer for Final Fantasy XII being shown, all in English. Quote:

Perfect, exactly what I was hoping to see. Hopefully a direct feed trailer will surface soon.
Are those weapon replicas to scale? Has a price been mentioned? |

So....anyone still remember FFXII? Have there been any details at all about the english version? How long until the trailer is online?

That's twice I've heard the word "haughty" to describe the localization. What does that even mean (the placement, not the definition)?
Aside from that, hooray for multiple accents. LOTR ye old english like what. |
I've been seeing "October 2006" as the release date on gamespot, but seriously, if SE pushes it back any further, what gives man.

sorry if already posted
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lAiKg...asy%20XII%20E3 its not a trailer but is the battle system in English with some random music in the background lol |
Holy cow that battle looks extremely fast paced, I don't know how to keep up! It's quite the contrast from seeing the Japanese playthrough where Vaan and his gang fight the fire bombs. That seemed to take its sweet time.
As well, this clip might have been posted, but it's a 3 minute in game Japanese play through. What seems interesting is that Penelo can be used to lead the party in this segment, with Vaan following behind. |

Ah! This is what I've wanted. It's nice to be able to switch your "main" character, not in the story, but for the game play. Sometimes I get sick of looking at the same person whom I'm controlling over and over. Xenosaga allowed me to do that, since I didn't like Shion much. I'm glad it's taking a somewhat similar approach here, and getting all the other characters to follow suit.
|
Well, you still see everyone in the active party. The game just allows you to control which of the three (or four) characters you get to move around.

The only other RPGs I've played that has enemies on screen without switching to a battle screen are Vangrant Story, Zelda type games and Dark Cloud 1 and 2. Perhaps there's a few more I've played, but I can't recollect on to of my head. In short, after seeing those clips, I'm more than inclined to definately try out this "new" battle system. I've been hearing from other GFF members who've played the Japanese version say that it's somewhat akin to FFT, which makes it even more interesting. |

Sure was a great game, wasn't it? |
