Moon uploaded it onto his server, along with every album in that thread.

Alright, thanks. I heard they were stashes somewhere but didn't know any better.
|
I would just like to reiterate that Jukka Eskola is awesome. =D I'm also really enjoying the John Paul Jones albums.
People need to post more shit in the other thread, myself included. Edit, two new albums up. Indie-slash-something. =p |
|
Son of a bitch! I was JUST about to start uploading that Slip album. I've been listening to them for like a year now but I didn't have my Mac hard drive with my music on it. Since I've been on a Guitar Hero kick lately, I was gonna upload it this morning and then I saw it posted and went :(. "Even Rats" was one of the bonus songs on the first Guitar Hero back in 2004, which is when I first heard of them but didn't actually own the song until it was released in 2006 on that album. VERY VERY good upload.
|
Cool. =D You wouldn't happen to have any of their older stuff, would you? I'm interested in hearing what their jazz phase was like. Even demonoid doesn't seem to have anything. Maybe I'll buy some stuff and upload it.
|
Actually, I DO have some of their older stuff. I'll upload it later on this evening when I get back from work.
|
Damn, I bought Does right after I posted. XD But anything else would be fantastic! Let me know if you don't have the aforementioned album. The instrumental stuff is nice, but some of the jam stuff is sketchy.

Also, yeah, uploaded Talib Kweli if you didn't already notice. Also in my 'gurnl. Look! |
I grabbed Eardrum back when it was released, but good stuff nevertheless.
Here's Does. I would steer clear of the vocal tracks, unless you can tolerate the vocals, which are very rough compared to the newer stuff. |
For electro fans who somehow haven't heard (or don't have) Ladytron's sexcellent album, Light&Magic.
Ch-ch-check it out. |
Why don't you just copy and paste your journal entries into the exposure thread, Guru? A few more people would see them then.
|
This is the first I've heard of Minus the Bear. I never really heard much math rock, but I dig the stop-start stuff. I'm just not too fond of the singer's vocals. A few more listens might help it sink in.
I went back and got those Nick Drake albums, too, Knk. I had heard Pink Moon before, but I really liked a lot of songs on all three albums, so thanks for upping those. (And of course thanks to Moon for archiving.) I'll have to pick them up the next time I get some cash. |
If you're going to buy the records, the best way is probably a the Fruit Tree boxset, which has all three albums plus an outtakes record and a pretty interesting booklet and can be found secondhand for about $35, which is almost cheaper than buying the three albums by themselves.
|
So the remasters aren't anything to get excited over, then? I see some news for Fruit Tree being rereleased as a limited edition, but none of the prices I've seen are under $50.
(If you meant vinyl, I don't have a record player. :( ) |

If you're stuck with CDs the remasters probably are the way to go then. |
I just tried to access Moon's website, and it seems to be down. Have we been downloading a bit too much? :p
|
He had something like a terabyte of bandwidth so I doubt we overused it. Maybe they finally wised up that it was a huge orgy of illegal goodness? I hope not...
That would just suck. |
That it would. Hopefully he can get back to us on this reasonably quickly. I'm kinda anxious to find out what the deal is.
|
I put up some hip-hop and indie/acoustic stuff. For the hip-hop fans, the kind of rap I'm into is stuff like MF Doom, The Roots, and Talb Kweli.
|
After some pouring of access logs, I found out what happened. Sometime on the 16th, 274 unique users were downloading contents from my albums folder. At the same time. This resulted in the use of 1.1 TERABYTES of bandwidth within a period of about 5 hours.
Needless to say, my webhost suspended the account until I could get this shit under control. It turns out nearly all the connections were by direct request from my albums folder, which means someone shared the link with a high visitor site and the visitors proceeded to rape my server with orgasmic fury. The solution: turn off indexing in my albums folder. All the links should still work; you just need to know the link to it. Kinda defeats the purpose of hosting them in one place if no one knows exactly what's there, but if y'all have a better suggestion, I'm open to it. |
As long as you know what you want, it's not exactly rocket science to figure out how to access it. Then we just have to keep the MEC thread itself indexed.
Or maybe it is rocket science. XD I can't figure out some of the links for the new stuff. If they're all in the same format, it should be easy. =) |
I just realized after spending all that time uploading that sendspace has a per-day limit on downloading. =/
Well, if I may make a recommendation, get Bonobo first, then come back for D&K. |
I decided to trun indexing back on for the albums folder, and all MEC contributions are now uploaded. Feel free to replace your dead links and download away!
Just no sharing the link to the folder this time with other sites <__<. |
