I love New Super Mario Bros, by the way...it's so much fun! |

There is next to no reason why you should buy or use screen protectors.
The DS' screen is extremely durable, and unless you're playing Ouendan and Trauma Center every single day, you won't have to worry about anything. The only beneficial thing I can see out of them is that it makes the touchscreen tighter (which I'm assuming would be difficult for Ouendan) and thus giving you more grip. |
Of the games you mentioned the only one I played was Trauma Center, and my screen was getting scratched. I'm meticulously gentle with my Lite.
Furthermore, the touch screen gets dirty very easily. I had to spend about 50% of my game time wiping off the screen because it felt like the stylus was scratching the screen, when in fact it was just scratching my fingerprints/whatever was on the screen. Since getting my screen protectors i've had to wipe it off maybe once and that was when palmed the screen after almost dropping it. The screen is also now more responsive and the stylus has better grip. For less than 10 dollars, I see no reasons NOT to buy a screen protector. |
Personally, the screen protector isn't for the longevity of the screen's life,
but so i won't get any scratches on it. Rubbing the stylus on an unprotected screen will inevitably give it scratches. It's plastic on plastic ^_^'' I don't use a stylus on my PSP screen (and i hope anyone else doesn't lol), but i do have a Hori filter on the PSP as well to prevent scratches. I've seen some friends with horriblely scratched GBA/DS screens... The Horror! >,<''q |
The DS Lite screens can take a lot of abuse! I used cheap arse screen protectors on my original DS, but couldn't be bothered with the Lite.

Wow, it did handle that pretty well! But who's the say if there weren't
any touch screen problems after that? He should have gone to pictochat to meticulously draw something ^_^ |

That made me shudder. I can't stand when people purposely abuse electronics.. even if it's a 'test' or whatever. :/ |

Same here. I pressed a little too hard one time with the stylus on my regular DS, and I totally freaked out. Luckily nothing was wrong with it, but just seeing the screen like that...ehh! |

Although it was fairly impressive. |
I've used Hori on the old DS till the Lite came out (which I've also got Hori on), but there was little to nothing to see. Until I took it off that is.
I wanted to cleanse it before packing it away, and boy was I shocked. The clearness underneath was undeniable. I've not been careless with my DS, but if I want to play Ouendan every fucking day, my toy shall and will endure it. It's meant to be played, and that means every sadistic goddamn game I throw at it. Ruin your shit if you must, I could care less, just don't try to convince me that it isn't worth it. Using a stylus on any surface causes friction. It's just physics. |
This doesn't seem like it's been mentioned yet, but FFXII for DS confirmed!
|

Meh, I'd love to jump back into Final Fantasy again after my hiatus after Final Fantasy IX, but there's something about Final Fantasy XII that's just.....wierd, for a lack of better words. The thing is, I like things to change, but there are certain things that should just stay the way they are. Final Fantasy is one of them. I actually like the ATB system from the earlier Final Fantasy games, but the Real time RPG thing....I dunno. I guess I'll give it a try. It'll be alongside Final Fantasy III and Children of Mana. And I suppose I'll have to get the New Super Mario Bros. soon. Man, better start saving....
|
Not quite FFXII there, but good enough!
Wow, Square-Enix sure are backing the big N bigtime this time round eh? I'm so so so glad I decided to go with the 'cheap but looks special' DS over the 'high-tech media player' PSP late last year! Nintendo is back in the fray: E3 revealed about 15 must-haves for me already, starting now there will be a staggering amount of other good quality releases including Cooking Mama and Contact etc. etc... and now we have a SE triple combo?! And that's not to mention some great RPGs to come via Pokemon, Tales, ASH etc... and some other innovative concepts gone badder - Nanostray 2, more Brain Training games, Wii connection. OMG Nintendo, you really are at the top of your game. May wii be with you til the end of time! |
There's a new Tales game? This is news to me....damn, I need more money....
|
*crosses fingers*
C'mon Square! Final Fantasy Tactics DS!!! LOL, i can dream right? |
Anyone else feel like with the recent assholery revealed surrounding the Wii, that the DS has gone back to being Nintendo's final hope?
|
The DS was always Nintendo's saviour... Gamecube wasn't doing so great, if it wasn't for their portable, they'd be in a bit of trouble.
|
What kind of assholery are you talking about?

But I don't think it puts Nintendo back in the place of depending on the DS to make it through. The Wii will still be amazing, regardless. |
Final Fantasy Tactics DS - that is a thought. I just hope they go with a more mature storyline this time - I didn't mind Tactics advance, but I'm not sure I could handle the youger storyline twice. I needs me some political intrigue! I wants me another story so complex I need cliff notes! I needs a game so hard that one wrond move means you're toast! I WANT ANOTHER GAME THAT IS BEAUTIFUL, BRUTALLY HARD, AND WILL MAKE ME SPEND ANOTHER THREE MONTHS CURSING AT MY TV!!!!
... That felt good. |

My point exactly. I didn't mind FFT:Advance, but I was much more attached to the original FFT. And I stand by my opinion, if FFT DS were made like the PS1, the world would truly be complete. |
