I saw the secret ending on my friend's iPod, and although I haven't yet played KH2, that ending has got me pumped for KH3. It's so sick.

Remember with the final level of Glide, as long as you hold the button down and don't let go, you will keep floating. (Unless you hit an up ramp.) Practice around the town abit till you get the hang of what the above player did. The player is also using Aerial dodge to speed his way to the posters spots.

Um. Holy crap. I need to go ahead and master all my forms then...wow...

I actually had problems while controlling Riku during the last battle. Maybe five or so attempts before I finished it. I tried to time the battle so that when it was his turn to fight, he entered with a full HP bar.

I actually hoped you'd be able to switch between the two every now and then during the battle for various parts of the fight. Woulda been cool, I thought.

Rydia Apr 11, 2006 09:34 PM

I thought using items would still be possible, so that made the battle a little more interesting. He seemed to have awkward movements while attacking as well.

I'm at Twilight Town the second time now and I'm having a terrible time with those Beserkers : /

Well they had to make it so kids could enjoy it too... and I like the fact that KHII has a fixed camera system... after playing KHII and going back to the first I find the camera of the first very annoying...

Are the challenges in Jimmi's Journal different/harder in Proud than in Standard?

I heard a rumor from someone who has the Brady Guide (its in the spoiler, just in case someone doesn't wanna read it. regards tournaments)

Spoiler:
Supposedly: Getting 100% on Proud grants access to a special Paradox tourney that allows you to fight every main boss from KH, the new fights that were in CoM (the XIII people), and many of the main villians from KHII. He says that the Guide hints at this hidden tournament.

Can anyone confirm/deny this?

rpgcrazied Apr 12, 2006 05:24 PM

i seroiusly dobut it, would be cool tho :P

Interrobang Apr 12, 2006 07:39 PM

No. All you get is a different ending image. The one that's already on the case.

RYU Apr 12, 2006 08:43 PM

any hints to how to defeat Sephiroth on Proud mode???

Tortalius Apr 12, 2006 09:15 PM

does the king only save your ass in a few specific battles because i've never seen him appear when I die.

kupomog Apr 12, 2006 09:23 PM

Kairi Li provided a list earlier in this thread (it's spoiler tagged).

For those of you that want to complete the journal but don't want to go through all the Atlantica songs again here's something I found out. Just start the song like you normally would but once it starts, pause the game and quit the mini-game. In the journal there will be a micky mouse symbol next to the "try so and so song again" bit.

It's nothing earth-shattering but it beats doing these songs a second time.

That would be the only reason I would consider completeing the journal because you can get the special ending just by completeing Proud mode anyway.... heh

Spoiler:
I was barely able to beat him at level 85. First you want to set yourself up with high defense armor and high attack rings. Load up your items with Elixirs as well. You also need the once again skill along with aerial recovery. MP haste and Ultimate Weapon are also a must.

The key is to use Reflect on almost a constant basis and hope you catch him with some reflect damage. Some of his attacks will reflect back almost an entire bar of his health worth of damage. Always watch for the reaction command as this will allow you to unleash an HP bar worth of combos on him. If he catches you on the ground and launches you up in the air, do an aerial recovery and you'll be able to break his air combo and start one of your own.

When he starts using that pillar of fire attack, you actually want to try to get into it and reflect that damage back at him. You'll take a bit of damage yourself, but I was able to right next to him when he did it and I reflected back about 3 bars of health back at him from a single fire pillar attack.

The Elixirs are for when he uses Sin Harvest. From what I've seen, its completely unblockable. When he uses it, do the reaction command then use an Elixir asap and start spamming Reflect.

Cirno Apr 13, 2006 01:33 AM

Nice strategy.

Spoiler:
Reflect, eh? I'll have to try that out next time I play. I managed to get him down to six life bars at level 61 with Oblivion equipped. I blocked most of his attacks and just waited for him to come at me, rather than give chase.

Sephiroth's fire pillars always ended up killing me though. No matter how far or how good I was doing, those would end up soldering my ass to the floor.

Where the hell did you hear that? There's no such thing. Whoever told you that is making it up. Not even the Ultimania has info on it, so its bogus.

Yeah, for anyone that is having trouble at specific points in Proud Mode...remember Reflect is your friend. It nulls any type of damage, and if the thing attacking you happens to be standing near you it usually gets a nice helping of reflected damage for their trouble. Once I mastered the use of Reflect, the game became extremely easy even on Proud Mode.

RYU Apr 13, 2006 09:34 AM

Thanks Cetra for strategy
Spoiler:
I'm now on L 65 also I got Ultimate Weapon, and I'll try to make L 99 but you can give me better armor & ring names to used when fight Sephiroth

Inhert Apr 13, 2006 12:02 PM

(strategie to level up REALLY fast)
Spoiler:
first you need to have beaten the world Pride Land for the second time. You need the gullwing keyblade (talk to YuRiPa in Hollow Bastion to get it) and the ability exp boost(not sure about the name but you get it). Now you need a good magic attack, if your magnega kill it one shot, it's the best or take thundega.

Go to pride land, de-equip any healing ability or item from goofy and donald, go into a fight and let you get hit, because you will need to have your hp bar in red and hear the REALLY annoying sound that it do. Why? because the exp boost and the gullwing keyblade ability only activate when you are in red hp.

When your hp is in red, go on top of the pride rock (where you fight scar) there will be tons of monster there (those little yellow monster that you see for the first time in Mulan world in the mountain) Now it's time to use the magnega and you will kill them in one shotor you can kill them with the keyblade (it take more time but it's the same thing) each single monster will give you 100-160xp(sometime just 50xp) in one run you can do about 30000xp. so just exit and re-enter to kill them all again and repeat till you're lv99.

Last time I did that, I did lv50 to lv75 in about30-40min. so if you cen kill them one shot with magnega 2h-3h max and you are lv99^^

I heard about this from a friend the other day as well. I take it the amount of EXP is the same for Proud Mode as well?

Sin Harvest is interrupted if you can jump and attack Sephiroth right as he goes "Sin....". Theres a window of about 3 seconds to hit him.
After he ends his little saying with "angel", its too late

You'll need High Jump Level 3 and the Aerial Dodge (where you can jump slightly higher) at lv 3 to hit him.

I just tried spamming reflect though, holy hell so THATS what reflect does X.X

Hantei Apr 14, 2006 01:42 AM

Just picked this up the other day, pretty cool. Just started day 2, I found it interesting how they went back and redubbed the old VO for Aerith and Leon from KH1 with the new VAs. Gotta say I like the Leon's new VA a lot more than KH1's. The new guy definitely gives more life into his performance, than David Boreanaz did. And from that little bit I heard, Mena's Aerith didn't sound too bad. But then again, it was only one line.

Oh and got me a Limited Edition strategy guide, my cover ended up being the white one, sweet!

http://img81.imageshack.us/img81/9018/kh2le6qv.jpg

Oh and it looks like they didn't reanimate the mouths. Kinda unfortunate cause I thought they were gonna do it, since they did it for KH1. But nevertheless the lipsyncing is well done. Haha, also the chubby kid looks (the one with the jersey, forgot his name) like he's drunk or something whenever you chat with him in town.

Soldier Apr 14, 2006 02:16 AM

They did reanimate the lips, at least as far as I can tell. And yes, I also noticed Pence's rather sluggish expression. :/

How much art is in that limited edition book?
