Virtually, yeah. But I seldom notice.

And oh, Chapter 6.
Spoiler:
ZOMG LENNETH WENT BACK IN TIME ZOMG. Hrist, Lenneth and Brahms join the party. Will now level up Ally to 99). Also, what's the AP input of Nibelung Valesti (like how much + to AP after one round) and Bloody Curse?

Also wondering how to get the Conqueror's Armor and how to get that much gold (800,000/piece) in the shortest time possible.

Xellos Oct 23, 2006 02:27 PM

Money won't be problem. Mobs at this point drop shitloads. The materials weren't that hard as I recall. I don't think any of them were SG materials. I honestly don't remember the specific items you needed for that armor.

There was one specific item I recall that was annoying to get. I think it was Ice Pearl or something like that?
It only drops from a mob that when you defeat it it doesn't respawn until you rejoin the dungeon. It's in Yggdrasil and it's the enemy type with 4 arms, and to get that item you have to slash off his upper left sword (not arm) it's annoying as hell to get. Just keep trying and if you screw up, escape and try again, so you don't have to leave and rejoin to get him to spawn again.

Heh...so I released all my Einherjar. Got SHITLOADS of stat boosts, and gave pretty much everything to my good friend Arngrim. His regular hits do 50k now heh. Those arent't even his strongest move "Dead End" I don't like these "ultimate" moves, because while they do a lot more damage, they also have horrendous charge times. Dead End takes like what 4 seconds to charge? fuck that.

If I fight some dragon and give him the skills that do more damage to scaled enemies and dragons he'll probably do like 100k and his Final Blast probably does like 600k. Oh yeah i'm happy. His Final Blast took half of Iseria's health away.

Duminas Oct 23, 2006 03:16 PM

Having a ton of trouble with the final boss (more like "dead in two hits" trouble), so I'm wondering. At this point (I do not have the Seraphic Gate open, nor do I wish to go there before clearing the game), where would be the best armour? I'm also level 52 across the board, which probably isn't helping matters.

I really hope Crell Monferaigne isn't it. =\

Xellos Oct 23, 2006 03:30 PM

Best craftable armor yes. There's a number of armor pieces you can get that are better then the crell ones, there're spread all over. If you haven't already, check out the equipment of the last 4 characters you got. You know the ones I mean. They came with very good equipment.

Also, learn and equip the skill toughness, which doubles your current HP in battle. Then equip the sealstone that has 200% health regen, and equip a trickster imprint. With that Alicia's heal will heal all other characters. the amount it heals is decreased a lot, but with toughness and 200% health regen it's more then enough for the final boss. Throw in First Aid and maybe even Survival and you'll be pretty much unbeatable.

If your wondering why everyone is doing very crap damage to the final form, it's normal. Only "she" can do normal damage. It helps to use sap guard on him, and maybe even might reinfoce.

Forsety Oct 23, 2006 07:02 PM

His attack vision for most of his skills in the final battle is a small cone, it's pretty easy to wrap around him to refill your AP and go crazy on him.

All I used was toughness+survival on Alicia, level 48 and had no trouble at all. I seperated her from the group also, though, because they couldn't hurt him anyway and they just kept giving him opportunities to cast spells.

Xellos Oct 23, 2006 08:49 PM

That's true but they still give extra hits to the gauge so i found it better to use all their soul crushes and use alicia last.

TheXeno Oct 23, 2006 11:36 PM

I just picked this game up. I must mention that I have never played a Valkyrie Profile before. I'm having a blast with this game so far, excellent battle system, good voice acting(meh on some of the character designs Harry Potter?).

So I like the game and I have a few questions for you pros. Is it worth it to level up and release all the warrior spirits? I'm a only a lvl 6-7ish and I talked to one of the "spirits" that reincarnated and she gave me an item that lvled one of my characters all the wat too lvl 18. Also is it worth leveling up all my main characters (non spirits).

Xellos Oct 24, 2006 07:53 AM

Sigh. Not that again. Every single mage with glasses is based on one character now? When VP1 came out Harry Potter wasn't even that popular yet, I mean it came out like 2 years after the first book. The only similiar thing I see is that they both have glasses. (!)

Having a bit of trouble...

Spoiler:

How are you supposed to kill the trolls in the Forest Ruins, when they regenerate, deal 400 dmg to your party every time they attack, and have 7800 health?

Without leveling to ridiculously high levels.

Currently Alicia is level 24, all my other main characters are around 20-22.

Duminas Oct 24, 2006 06:52 PM

In regard to Inflammable:
Spoiler:
Try to inflict Frailty on them. One of the accessories you can get off enemies in that area will cause your attacks to sometimes carry the effect (Frailty stops HP from being restored by any means). In addition, Rufus' spells Sap Power and Sap Guard can be of immense use there.

Do you have any Great Eagle Hearts yet? Those bolster attack power by 15%, and are quite useful in place of the Power Bangle, which you don't have access to yet.

Xellos Oct 24, 2006 07:19 PM

You should be able to inflict frailty automatically if you do enough damage to them. Not quite sure how much though. Trolls early in the game are one of the most annoying mobs in the game.

Just try to boost your attack power a bit, and equip weapons that have soul crushes. If you manage to get some soul crushes going he should be dead, or heavily damaged, and he'll get frailty. His limbs can regenerate but he won't heal his main health anymore.

worst case scenario you can equip skills that do extra damage to them. Not quite sure what they classify as though...beast?

Duminas Oct 24, 2006 07:20 PM

Giant, actually.
At least, Giant Killer (did I get the name wrong?) does ridiculous damage to them for me.

The other enemies in that particular mob are much worse, though. You need to deal with them first.

Xellos Oct 24, 2006 07:27 PM

Oh yeah, besides what I just said, the most effective method I found in killing them is one simple sealstone. The no guard one. With that you'll be doing full damage to them, since they won't be able to block anything, and boy do they block a lot. I think you find that sealstone in that very dungeon too.

Throw in a 120% attack sealstone, and equip fist of iron, and maybe giant killer and you'll kill them easily.

Imflammable Oct 24, 2006 11:06 PM

Thanks for the help, I'll give it a try...

Are Flamberges available this early at the game? Because I remember Dylan using it quite frequently. The weapon itself causes Fraility and is quite helpful.

Also I usually aim for their sides with the weapons onto them. Like said, cast status-changing spells for good effect as well as appropriate equipment already said.

Xellos Oct 25, 2006 10:22 AM

Hmm I found out what always caused frailty for me. It's Arngrim. I always used Wild Break with him and appearently that is what causes frailty. I never even knew certain attacks causes status effects hehe.

Single Elbow Oct 25, 2006 04:51 PM

Does it? Now I'm curious. I thought it was the weaponry/spells (like Prismatic Missile for example) that caused status effects, not attacks.

Also at Chapter 6 levelling up the new ones I got to about 55 or so.

Xellos Oct 25, 2006 08:32 PM

Well I knew about prismatic missile, but mages suck in this game, and prismatic missible is completely random. I seriously miss the VP style mages where they were pure pwnage. Greater Magicks in that game were a must.

Single Elbow Oct 26, 2006 11:38 AM

Except here every mage has great magic but only 2 wands that really mean business. And not in the main game either.

Spoiler:
So after defeating the Homonculus Lezard and Silmeria (Lezard was a pushover. Silmeria heals EVERY move so instead of dealing might reinforce or some equipment that will massively boost attack power and kill her in one round, I just pushed her over the edge. Bam, transfer effect. :tpg:

So apparently Ally's about 95, Rufus is 93, Arny's about 87 while Lenneth is about 60, Silmeria's about base level (which completely blows) and Hrist and Brahms digits below 60. The pack on my einherjar is median 60 so it should not pose a problem when I release them by the last savepoint. I decided to let Alicia stay at 95 for now for full Seraphic Gate abuse.

Story got cheesy but it's nice to have the three sisters again. I wonder how it will end up? :tpg:

Moving along, what I need for my Conqueror's Armor is just Deep Doom (probably Rotting Zombies in the last dungeon) and Sage Quartz (which is found on Bifrost [UH. NO] or the Ravine Caverns or something). Man, I really want that armor so bad...

And for those who have finished the game or saved at the very last save point...
Spoiler:
How will I manage at the Gate? Ally's 95, Rufus' 93, Arny's 87 with a high 1605 ATK while the sisters and Brahms could use little more time. I just want to get the Angel Slayer and was wondering how will I get through it? Also is there a shop deep in the dungeon for weapon customizing? And what sealstones should I have and acquire before traversing the dungeon? Strategies for survival?

Spatula Oct 26, 2006 01:05 PM

Speaking of the Ravine Caverns, how do I get back there? Is it alright to go into the elven forest and get through that stone wall again? Will there be any bad effects for this? As well, I doubt that we'll have a time limit again for that stage?

Unfortunately, you have to backtrack all the way through since Asgard has a different entrance. Fortunately, Ravine doesn't have a timer (and you know the reason what happened to the character).

So going there will be easy.

Spatula Oct 26, 2006 01:28 PM

The entrace/exit of Asgard (where the save point and merchant) leads to Midgard, which was where the original exit of Bitfrost was. So therefore I take it that you enter through the stone wall.
