Your hunch is also my hunch Mr Satan. And unfortunately, I dread something like the FFIX NA cover. I don't like it when characters are standing there for a pose. What is this, coverplayer? FFVIII was a bit more natural, as they weren't really vying for attention, even though there were 4 characters on the cover which took up the whole cover. Like I said, it will probably have Vaan all over Penelo or some shit like that.

You know what, the JAP cover for FFXII is what I want.

Craze Mar 31, 2006 02:41 AM

I thought all FF covers usually follow the Jap release? At least that's what I remember for FFVII and VIII. I wouldn't mind them putting the picture of Balthier holding Ashe though :P

As far as I remember, the Japanese covers have always been just the logo of the FF. The American covers usually use some sort of character art or some cheesy-looking character cut-and-paste thing.

Wrong. In the U.S version, the covers always had some kind of background behind the character (or characters). And the U.S version would be always tend to be more of the "flashy" type. Unlike Japan's white background and game logo only.

The only covers that had the same art cover was Kingdom Hearts II. Though, the U.S version is more or less an improved version over the Japanese KH2.

For those of you who have played the game for a good while now, how are you liking the music? How does it compare to the previous FFs? What I heared on the demo seemed forgettable...

Andrew Evenstar Apr 3, 2006 02:34 AM

The music is great, I'm about 20 minutes into it and there's not a song that I dislike. Its much different than other FF's but sounds very good still.

It's AWESOME a lot of Vagrant Story in it especially in dungeons and mines or caves. You can fell it all the time. I just can't wait for OST to come out. 50+ hours on my game time counter.

Spatula Apr 3, 2006 08:43 AM

So I take it that no other PS/2 game has touched your console since this game eh B4?

CuteChocobo Apr 3, 2006 10:18 AM

Well there are some great tracks, especially the few city songs, 1 battle song and the other orchestrated songs.

There ARE a few that I dislike, mainly due to the lack of melody and emphasis... but overall i might rate it a 8.5/10 FROM THE GAME. Until i get the soundtrack i might have a different opinion.

I will be complaining about lack of battle 'Victory Theme'... only happends once in a while *sad*

Spatula Apr 3, 2006 10:42 AM

Speaking of the soundtrack, does the music from the Symphonic Poem show up anywhere in the game? I love that Journey theme/ Road of Hope.

CuteChocobo Apr 3, 2006 09:29 PM

Yes it does, at some specific point in the game :D
I was soo happy to heard that when the FMV played with that song *glee*

*sigh* Soundtrack delay really sulks me.
Oh what I really love about this comming soundtrack is that fact that many original FF theme songs are remixed and reused :)

Mist Knock. Wait till you se Vaan's 3rd Mist Knock =) You'll fall from chair.:edgartpg:

Hello_Kitty Apr 6, 2006 04:21 AM

lol B4 Hunter, you really like Mist KNOCKS but it's KNACKS

Spatula Apr 6, 2006 08:29 AM

I have to say, "Mist Knacks" sounds pretty lame. Limit Break/Overdrive, that's where it's at.

Cobalt Katze Apr 6, 2006 09:21 AM

It also makes absolutely no sense. Unless someone can explain what knacking is, and what it has to do with mist to involve flashy special moves :D

Technophile Apr 6, 2006 02:23 PM

Maybe the name for it will be different for the US version since that's pretty damn engrishy.

B4-Hunter Apr 6, 2006 03:14 PM

So I'll just use "Mist Combo" name cause it's never one Mist attack =P My record is 21 and It was quite long... now I get to 11-12 =(.

Spatula Apr 6, 2006 03:15 PM

Please just change the name back to limit breaks or overdrives or something more appealing than, "Mist Knacks". The only thing that comes to my mind is "fart knockers". seriously.

Soldier Apr 6, 2006 03:44 PM

This is going to sound bizzare, but I find it pretty amusing. I had a discussion with someone last night in AIM about Shadow Hearts 2's ending (which I recently finished). Basically I was leary about the game having one of those "figure it out yourself" endings, which basically was devoid of any real resolution for the characters. Well, due to the late night discussions, I ended up having a dream that this very thread here was discussing FFXII's ending, with everyone complaining that it was a similar piece of trash that was too short and didn't offer any sort of closure for any of the characters.

So, for the sake of curiosity, did this omen prove true? Does FFXII's ending deliver on a proper closure (FFIX), or is it a "we have no idea how to end it so we'll just let you figure it out" type of ending (FFVII)? Keep it spoiler-free of course.

On that note, I'm also real curious about peoples' claims about how the main character basically becomes left out of the story. What exactly does this mean? Does he get no development? Does he dissapear from the storyline entirely? Or does it turn out he isn't really the main character? Again, please keep it as spoiler-free as possible.

Spatula Apr 6, 2006 03:45 PM

Is this spoiler material. I mean, hey it's the ending and all. >_>

Soldier Apr 6, 2006 03:48 PM

It's basically a yes or no answer. :/

I haven't scanned this thread until now, but that's an amusing name. I'm curious about what they'll change it to (if they do) in the North American version.
