I've figured it out-- cloning. It's all the rage right now, from what I can see. Put a Pokemon on the GTS, shut the DS off at the right moment, load it up and boom, it's up on the GTS and still in your party/box. Sounds risky, though. Putting up your Dialga and failing... might get stuck with something crummy.

Oh, and for a little update, I've started moving along. Just got my third badge and rushed down to the Safari Zone, currently at 55:00 exactly. Current party:

I have learned an annoying fact today: While transferring Pokemon from your Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald/F.Red/L.Green carts, if you select a Pokemon that knows any Hidden Move (HM), such as Surf or Fly, you'll be prevented from sending it over.

The solution is fairly simple: Travel to Lilycove City and find the Move Deleter. Remove the Hidden Move, then store the Pokemon again. Once they're caught in Pal Park, they can relearn Surf.
It's a stupid process, probably designed to prevent cheating. I'm not sure why this rigamarole is necessary since Hidden Moves can't be used unless the owner has the corresponding badge. It's not like you could acquire a Pokemon with Surf over the GTS, then travel to forbidden areas.

Nobody told me all this, so it took me several days to figure out what the game meant when it said my Swampert knew a Hidden Move and couldn't be transported. I thought it was saying that the moveset was no longer possible, and therefore illegal, in D/P.

^5 Crash. It tells you in the instruction book. Also, good job not realizing that "Hidden Move" means "Hidden Move".

Well, it is possible to get HM moves over the GTS though. My Piplup came with it.

Argh, so you absolutely have to transfer all of the legendaries from the other games...(without Wi-Fi) I mean--Does anyone even have Deoxys? Should I just trade my legendaries from my Sapphire and Leaf Green? Or should I just use Wi-Fi?

I have the starters from G/S (I need the starters from FR/LG, have Charmander), so if anyone needs them, just give me a holla'.

Also, EV and IV stuff is confusing...I'm probably not going to bother.

The "GTS Trade Evolution" glitch is supposed to be:

1. Deposit
2. Complete any GTS trade
3. Withdraw
4. Evolve go =o

I can never complete any trades on GTS though so lol @ that.

I have a fresh Deoxys on my FireRed game, along with Ho-oh and Lugia. All untouched so far. I can't transfer 'em over yet though, cause I can't use Pal Park yet.

Patience is rewarding-- got me a Ditto (with its Speed boosting hold item) and a female Combee for just a Carnivine (caught five) and a Leaf Stone (mined three). Doing very well for not even owning the fourth badge.

EV training is easy once you learn how to do so, it's the IV stuff I don't understand. Regardless, I'm still EV training my team without the added bonuses of IV.

All the explanations for the IV-thingys are really confusing and none are simplified for the dum-dums out there...I'm amazed I even learned how to work EVs.
