But I heard it won't make it overseas, that's another drawback. If anything, I'd love to play Tiger Woods 07 on the Wii.

FatsDomino May 13, 2006 12:28 PM

I have a feeling that Nintendo would try to get their first game from Tecmo in fucking forever over to the States. Fanboys will eat it up that some DOA characters are in it. If not and it's still an awesome game then importing shouldn't be a problem if Nintendo is smart and doesn't do region locking.

I'd rather play arcade golf than sim golf. Same goes for most games actually. I fail to see the drive behind realistic games unless it adds to the mood or atmosphere i.e. Resident Evil 4.

I do hope they upgrade to at least a gig, having around 700 megs for extra content and 300 megs for game saves and VC games should work out pretty well. But I have to wonder why the flash memory isn't removable, you're pretty much forced to get a memory card if you want to take your saves over to a friend's house now.

And that looks awesome, Infernal! =D

Pangya looks like some fun arcade golf. It's a shame it won't be going online but if that means for a better offline experience then so be it.

http://www.pangya.com/english/

It IS an online game.

FatsDomino May 13, 2006 03:22 PM

No, no, no, no, no, no, no. For Wii. I'm talking for Wii. I'm fully aware the original PC game is very online based.

Luxo May 13, 2006 03:43 PM

Only one "No" would have sufficed. =(

FatsDomino May 13, 2006 08:23 PM

Yes, but it would have not been nearly as fun to say out loud. =D

Wall Feces May 14, 2006 02:42 PM

Do you read all of your posts out loud before submitting them? :tpg:

FatsDomino May 15, 2006 02:31 AM

A good deal of them I most certainly do. =)

If I remember correctly, I believe I read somewhere an interview with Nintendo where they said the same opening accepts and ejects both regular DVDs and small GC discs. Apperantly Wii's slot itself knows how to take GC's discs in despite the fact that they're a lot smaller than the slot itself.

-EDIT-

Here's a list of games that EB and Gamestop are stocking up on. The earliest release date I found on there was 11/01/06. I wonder if this is any indication to Wii's launch date. I was hoping we'd recieve it some time around November. Also, the games are listed as $59.99 for pre-release price. WTF?

Protom@nNeo May 16, 2006 04:55 PM

So the other day a buddy and I were talking, and I was saying how a 3d Castlevania would be awesome on the Wii and essentially a no brainer. Then today I read this from Magicbox "Castlevania producer Koji Igarashi said that Castlevania does not fit with Wii, because the Wii market is for people who want to have new experience, these type of people do not have time to play lengthy games like Castlevania; also he does not have a good idea to make use of the Wii controller in the game."

Dammit!!

Technophile May 16, 2006 05:32 PM

Looks like the Wii banner for games' covers has been revealed. This was on another forum with no source so I'm not sure how official it is...but here:

FatsDomino May 16, 2006 05:38 PM

I hope that's not it. I enjoy cover art. I don't enjoy giant company logos or design blobs that cover said enjoyed cover art. The DS is okay but the cases are pretty different anyway. I hope Nintendo leaves it to a corner or something.

Neogin May 16, 2006 05:47 PM

I hope not either. It looks pretty...ugly, :/

Oh, and in other news, I read this at BBC and Joystiq..

Sony has now backed up the Wii, stating that most consumers would buy the Wii as a second console, after getting the PS3.

So, if the Nintendo Wii was the 2nd console choice after the 360/PS3, wouldn't that put them at the top? Yeah, it may never happen, but judging from what Moore and Harrison said, it's possible.

Soldier May 16, 2006 05:48 PM

In Zelda's case, it's going to be far worse. Expect additional labels and logos to make it perfectly clear to the idiotic parents that they're buying the right version for for their kids.

::still gets the wrong one::

Wall Feces May 16, 2006 05:55 PM

It's not too bad... It's far more intrusive than I would like it too be though. Make it smaller and I'll be happy.

Ok so let me get this strait. Microsoft is all like "Sony ur a fag, people would rather get a Wii than a PS3" and Sony is like "FU MS people would rather get a wii than get a brickbox360" and Nintendo is all like "Hay guys whats up?"

Fucking soap opera.

In other news.. anybody have any ideas what's behind the mesterious panel on the front of the Wii? I hear that it might be some sort of 3d projector, but I guess we will have to wait and see. I bet they planned on releasing it at E3 but after Sony stole their shit they thought twice.

FatsDomino May 16, 2006 06:34 PM

Um, I always thought that was where you put your SD flash card. I don't think it's going to be something crazy like a projector. In fact I'm pretty certain it isn't.

Nor do I, but I thought the concept was pretty interesting.

Wall Feces May 16, 2006 06:44 PM

Definitely an interesting concept, and those are some pretty neat little bits of information on that site.

I suppose anything's possible at this point.

SketchTheArtist May 16, 2006 07:32 PM

Cool, looks like I wasn't crazy. I talked about this concept last March.

EDIT: There!

Yeah, I heard about this 'Top Secret Revolutionary Thing' and it really intrigues me.

All I know, is that Nintendo copyrighted a system with cameras and a projector where the player will be IN the game. Literally. But I'm pretty sure it won't be it. Maybe the next generation of systems.
