The difference between season 3's gap and season 2's gap is that season 3's gap is planned out. Season 2 was pretty sporadic with the reruns, which annoyed a lot of people, including me. I really like the idea of splitting season 3 into two parts, one six-episode arc and then the remaining episodes airing at a later date with no reruns.

Here's the video from ComicC...

And more Lost videos: http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=lostisland

I poked it and it made a sad sound Jul 25, 2006 11:26 AM

O god, in the US they're going to split up the third season?

At least we'll know when to expect it. Let me tell you - the gaps for the second season wherein no one really KNEW when they'd occur was fucking annoying.

I also have this pending feeling of fucking DOOM regarding the third season. I know Europe is just getting the rest of S2 now, but I have hardly even THOUGHT about LOST since it ended here in the US. I am not even speculating on what could be. I think thats a sign that I may not be so enthusiastic about watching S3. ;_;

MagicalVacation Jul 25, 2006 12:16 PM

But they're planning massive advertisement to announce season 3.

soulsteelgray Jul 25, 2006 01:03 PM

Brazilian actor Rodrigo Santoro's been cast. You can read about it here. This certainly ups the eye candy factor of the show.

Oh, yeah. That Comic-Con video is pretty overdone.

rockthepartay Jul 25, 2006 02:47 PM

I like how only three nerds knew what was going on, and that the rest of the audience was completely baffled.

That actress is so over the top. I can't tell if it's her lack of acting ability or that the character is supposed to be like that.

I don't get what you're upset about. Nobody liked the constant reruns, so instead there will be 6 episodes and then a long break before nonstop eps (ala 24), and this is bad, too? What other possibility is there? At least one will know EXACTLY when there will be a new episode.

rockthepartay Jul 25, 2006 03:15 PM

I'm very pleased with how they are handling the schedule. I would much rather have the gap than wait until next year for the third season to begin.

Sepharite Jul 25, 2006 03:18 PM

If you checked the internet guides or even ABC.com, they provided info on the schedule of 2nd Season, which would have made it slightly less annoying. :S

edit: Agreed, but what are they filling the gaps with though?

rockthepartay Jul 25, 2006 03:31 PM

Some new ABC show, I think. Once that show's season is over, Lost will immediately start up. Sometime in February if I remember correctly.

The random insertion of reruns didn't make it any less annoying even though they were announced beforehand.

The show taking Lost's spot is The Nine.

Eleo Jul 25, 2006 05:46 PM

The Nine sounds like it might be interesting in itself, really. In fact the plot itself reminds me sort of like LOST, and it especially reminds me of The Bridge of San Luis Rey.

Sepharite Jul 25, 2006 07:30 PM

I was commenting on Sass, not in general. <3 Meh, not like it was the only show on...

And the Nine sounds fascinating - hoping for black smoke cameos. >_>

In that rachel blake utube clip posted a few above, what is the website she says at the end of her rant?

More new cast members? Okay!

From ComingSoon.net:

Quote:

Elizabeth Mitchell has joined the cast of ABC's hit drama Lost as a regular, says The Hollywood Reporter.

Mitchell will play Juliet on the hit series from Touchstone TV and studio-based Bad Robot Productions. Details about Mitchell's character are being kept under wraps, but Juliet might be a new love interest for Jack (Matthew Fox).
So, in other words, Jack might be developing quite a libido and they need him to have some sex in order to spice up the show.

rockthepartay Jul 28, 2006 02:25 PM

This is the only thing I need to know about Season 3.

From IGN:

Quote:

The producers spoke of writing the characters with the actors in mind, and how Terry O'Quinn's dissatisfaction with Locke's role last season became reflected as Locke became increasingly frustrated pushing the button in the hatch. Lindelof recounted O'Quinn saying, "I want a knife in my hand, and to kill stuff!," and then added, "Oh, you'll get your knife back John Locke."
Finally.

Excellent! This free's Kate up for Sawyer!

MagicalVacation Jul 28, 2006 04:24 PM

I don't know about you people, but this thread has got me watching Lost again, and I'm starting to get worked up about it again too. The season finale really was awesome.

Double Post:
Oh and by the way, I loved the psychological descent John Locke went through in season 2, it gave his character so much more depth.

rockthepartay Jul 28, 2006 11:39 PM

Season 2 Locke was redeemed, for me, in the finale when he said "I was wrong." Terry O'Quinn did an amazing job in that sequence.

But they really need to bring back the old Locke.

Oh God yes. He became a major ass in this season. And he needs to apologise to Charlie.

Well, basically everyone did. I totally hope that season 3 will be better than 2. Good thing is that some annoying people died, tho.

MagicalVacation Jul 29, 2006 10:17 AM

Season two had its really really bad episodes, but there definitely were some gems in there like "?" or "Lockedown" and ofcourse the way better finale than the first season's. But isn't there going to be a change in writers in the third season? I thought I heard that somewhere, if that's true I'm kinda worried though, they could screw things up.

Sweet looking poster. Everybody's eyes look fake, but I can't help but say "wow how cool they all look."

Only 2 more months!
