I'm watching Lost a bit behind from everyone (because it's so fucking boring), and I'll just comment whenever I have something significant to say. Just watching episode 612, and I saw Hurley holding a book. To my delight, it was a book by Dostojevski, translated roughly as Notes from the Underground. Fuck yes onematopoecy.

This book is basically said to have created existentialist crises, so have at it, in what it has to do with the plot. Plus it's good. Everyone should read some Dostojevski at some point in their life.

I originally didn't have any clue on why Jacks dad was there at the end. I still don't. I know the sideways crapline is purgatory, but how does he know about any of this stuff. Wasn't he dead before they ever got on the plane

I didnt follow how Desmond knew about the light thing when Smokie asked him.

I just watched the Kimmel special wherein Michael (Perrineau) said that because he chose some "bad" things in life, he's still on the island muttering to himself. All jokes aside, I don't fucking care whether or not the sideways plot, the island or the magic waterfall of gold and glory are purgatory. I'm pissed it was used as a scapegoat for the fucking mess they created.

I was ready to let it go. I really, really was. Like I said, 2 hours into the finale proper, and I was in love. I was so happy with where they were going, I was prepared to forgive Dogan and the temple. I was feeling the end, I was excited, sad, tense, and sympathetic.

But then this. And at the last minute, no less!

The only thing I feel right now is supreme letdown. Rarely have I felt so cheated by a movie/tv show. I expected that even if I didn't like the finale, I would still love to revisit the show, but after that ending I don't even want to do that. If I knew going into this show that the ultimate message would be "all you need is love" I would have given up years ago. Everything we saw on the island, all the mystery, all the sci-fi... It's all useless. Worthless. Meaningless. None of it matters. Anybody who invested into this show because of the sci-fi elements and not the characters got fucked supremely tonight. Myself included.

What a massive disappointment. More thoughts to come.

I'm thoroughly convinced that 90% of all "fans" of Lost are pissed at the direction this show has taken.

Tonight we had a Lost party for the finale. There were a good 25 people there and not a single one was satisfied or even indifferent to the ending. Everyone fucking hated it. As a matter of fact, 10-12 of us walked out in the middle of Christian giving his speech about being dead. What's the point at that point? After the episode we were all supposed to hang out and drink and have a good time, but there were some people who were actually too upset to even stick around that we ended up calling it a night around midnight.

Anyways, my Hurley costume was the shit! Everyone loved it. I wish I would have taken pictures, but I got there about 30 minutes into the show, and as soon as it was over, everyone left, so I didn't get shit for pictures. There wasn't really anything worth seeing anyways, seeing as how most of the characters just wore regular clothes. The only good ones were me, Sawyer (who was actually supposed to be Desmond, but I designated him as Sawyer because he STRONGLY resembled him), and Jacob.

Afterwards I went to a pub with one of my buddies and we got pretty drunk and ranted on and on about Lost to people who didn't even know what the fuck Lost is. All in all a good night, but definitely a disappointing end to six years.
