I'd like that actually, I'm up for some PSU'ing, I'm having a bit of a meseta crisis due to poor purchasing decisions.

DarkMageOzzie Nov 28, 2006 09:19 PM

I'm planning on going on in about 40 minutes when this file finishes downloading. What Universe would be good to meet up on?

Hotobu Nov 28, 2006 09:44 PM

I'll idle in Universe 17 Guardian's colony level 4 on the bench by the mission section. I'm doing some surfing rightnow.

Double Post:
Wait wait wait, I just noticed something. You have a 360 is this the 360 version you're talking about because me and everyone else play on the PC/PS2 version.

Manny Biggz Nov 29, 2006 06:30 AM

Nah. He's on the PC version.

DarkMageOzzie Nov 29, 2006 01:52 PM

Yeah I'm on the PC version, I wouldn't go with the empty community version. However the file I was downloading took longer then I thought and by the time I got on some reason I had thought you said Universe 18.

I'm just copy/pasting my post from somewhere else here since it might be helpful to people over here as well:

Only confusing thing about the update is that we're trying to figure out what's up with the "ten" s-rank missions. Japan only got TWO on the same update. So either getting a bunch more at once ahead of the JP updates, OR they're referring to ten s-ranks available over the course of the weekly updates.

Everything else sounds good. FYI we'll be able to buy 7* weapons and armors at NPC (made), and 8* weapon and armor boards. We'll also be able to buy synth mats up to 8*. It's also important to remember that 7* and up is A rank, and even JP does not yet have a rank grinders (the board is still not available), so you may have to do some 6* grinded to 7* base weapon comparisons to see which is more worth it to you. I sat down, and with almost all of my stuff (ranger mostly), I'd have to grind to at LEAST +5, if not higher, to exceed the base stats of the 7* for that class, so I'm going with mostly 7* stuff. Also keep in mind that w/7* and up weapons, only ONE manufacturer makes each type of weapon. For example 7* and up only GRM rifles are available, Youmei's are no longer made. Kubara's are the exception to this rule. Also extended class only weapons (Axes, crossbows, etc) start at 7* and up only. This cuts down and making choices :P.

NPC prices:

Weapons:
5* - 18500
6* - 35000
7* - 90000

Weapon Boards:
6* - 23400
7* - 60000
8* - 110000

Armor:
5* - 45000
6* - 95000
7* - 210000

Armor Boards:
6* - 31500
7* - 52500
8* - 90000

A rank metals (all those common fairly 7* ones, like chicotite, cyral, etc): 2500
Nano/Ortaresins: 7500
Mot/Ebon/Neu Ebons: 4000
Kerseline: 4000
Vestaline: 6000

It's going to be interesting to see the market totally crash on a lot of current stuff, like the Teroline's going for around 250k right now, etc. I've ultimately decided on Fortegunner, at least for now, and here's my first round of purchases:

7* Cubo Upinde (Crossbow) - 90k
7* Asami-Zashi (Dagger) - 90k
7* Gurre Neida (Grenade Launcher) - 90k
7* Laser Cannon (Laser Cannon) - 90k
6* Falcon (Rifle) - 90k (backup rifle, I always carry 2)
7* Assassin (Rifle) - 90k
7* Beamgun (Handgun) - 90k
7* Beam Vulcan (Mechgun) - 90k
6* Seva Falsan (Tenora Works Saber) - 35k (IIRC Youmei makes 7* and up sabers, not too impressed with the stats)
7* Shigga Boma (Shotgun) - 90k
7* Mugungri (Spear) - 90k
6* Ryo-Pistatorec (Twin Handguns) - Already have (backup twin handguns)
7* Bulletmaster (Twin Handguns) - 90k
6* Teroline (Armor) - 95k (Also IIRC, none of the 7* armors are that impressive, wait for 8*)

For those keeping track at home, that's a whopping 1,000,065 meseta. Obviously as a fortegunner the hunter weapons will come last, but still. That's also not counting new units that will be available, nor the fact that once I'm done with that, it's time to start saving for 8* boards and materials, or the 8* weapon/armor NPC update (whichever is more viable at that point). Then we ALSO have new clothes/parts. These haven't been mentioned specifically yet, but JP got these in the same update as the expert classes, so we should be getting these at least:

http://img154.imageshack.us/img154/1...clothesqj8.jpg

First male and second female human set:
Shirt - 20k, Pants - 15k, Boots - 10k
Second male and first male human set prices:
Shirt - 30k, Pants - 22.5k, Shoes - 15k
Male and female cast set prices:
Torso - 40k, Arms - 18k, Legs - 25k

So I need to add another 83k to my total for all the cast parts as well. At the moment I've got about 350k. I have no expectations of getting all the money by the update, but I want to try to at least be able to afford all the cast parts, armor, and new types of weapons available (which would be about 440k).

All prices please give credit to people at PSOW. Also Kiryogi or whoever please correct any of my info if it's wrong.

Edit: SHIT, I forgot Casts also get 2 new SUVs. Any importers happen to know which one is better and/or how much they each cost? They're the Rafal Buster and Sturm Buster if that helps.

Edit 2: If I'm reading the JP wiki correctly: Rafal Buster is 2500, and is the stationary version of the gatling gun we have now, and the Sturm Buster is 6000, and is the rotating version of the laser (Grom Buster) that we have now. That more or less makes sense, confirmation would still be nice though.

Kairi Li Dec 1, 2006 03:31 AM

First thing I'm gonna do when the update is done is to get that damn double saber.

Yeah mobs, you better run from the TORNADO/TORPEDO BITCH!!!

....Ahem....

Awesome update this is gonna be, my main character Lizonia here will be a figunner, while my force alt Mikinia Lia will be a wartech. (When shes up to that lvl for couse, shes still a low lvled newb)

The clothes in the above scan look so so for me, so unless there's more I haven't seen, then I prob will focus on armour and weapons for now.

What about the rest?

Manny Biggz Dec 1, 2006 04:46 AM

It's about damn time they gave me a real reason to start playing again. The Moatoob update was utter crap, and made me feel like quitting the game completely. Good to hear about the weekly updates too. I'm just wondering if i can mix those boots from the fourth picture with the baggy pants from the third. I think/hope that would look sweet with my current top!

LS Dec 1, 2006 06:09 AM

Just a quick and silly question, how do you guys play this game? PC (if so can you download a copy) any info on how to play this on the PC guys, i'm greatly interested in playing a 3d online game (just finished .hack lol)

Para Dec 1, 2006 09:19 AM

Apparently Tornado Dance isn't released yet on JPN servers so I doubt it will be available for NA version when the patch comes.

Tornado dance is great but god... if everyone is spamming that shit it gets annoying.

SailorDaravon Dec 1, 2006 09:42 AM

Also guys it's been confirmed by clumsy that the "ten s-rank missions" refers to missions over the course of the next month in weekly updates, ie we're not getting all 10 next Thursday.

Goddamit, that photon art kicked ass in offline mode...

Ah well, at least we get new weapons to play with, so its still good.

Definitely it was good but in online mode I think it may be counterproductive.

In offline mode it actually killed things. However in online mode because the monsters are significantly stronger, instead of monsters being killed, monsters most likely will get knocked away thus pissing off your teammates.

Not to mention sometimes the monsters get knocked away straight away from 1 hit which then your tornado dance can`t nail the rest of the hits in.

I look forward to the Double Saber PA but I really want Lou's Double Saber PA. That PA is sexy on many levels.

Parn Dec 1, 2006 04:28 PM

Tornado Dance is going to be crap in online mode, because the double saber itself isn't very impressive at all as far as stats go. It has the second worst ATP of all the melee weapons, and it has the second worst ATA of all the melee weapons. We're talking over 100 ATA LESS compared to other melee weapons of the same ranking, putting it on par with an axe as far as accuracy goes. But the axe has a 700+ ATP advantage to make up for the reduced accuracy... the double saber has strong PA's and that's it. I posted this on PSOWorld before, but here's a look at the A rank weapons available in the shop that we'll get on next patch:

Figunner-oriented weaponry
Youmei A rank Dual Daggers give 166 ATP, 236 ATA, 348 PP.
GRM A rank Double Saber gives 274 ATP, 92 ATA, 357 PP. (the low ATA is not a typo)
GRM A rank Dual Sabers give 276 ATP, 219 ATA, 306 PP.
Youmei A rank Dagger gives 318 ATP, 245 ATA, 297 PP.
GRM A rank Saber gives 487 ATP, 228 ATA, 255 PP.

Fortefighter-oriented weaponry
Tenora Works A rank Fists give 310 ATP, 287 ATA, 275 PP.
Youmei A rank Claws give 316 ATP, 202 ATA, 326 PP.
Youmei A rank Claw gives 487 ATP, 211 ATA, 275 PP.
GRM A rank Sword gives 598 ATP, 169 ATA, 317 PP.
Tenora Works A rank Spear gives 553 ATP, 253 ATA, 340 PP.
Tenora Works A rank Axe gives 1018 ATP, 84 ATA, 334 PP. (that ATP is also not a typo)

Note that you can't go and buy a Youmei Axe, or a GRM spear for A rank. It seems to be one brand per weapon class from this point on, as was the case when I was on the import, and importers have stated that the situation hasn't changed since then. Double sabers swing slower, are about the same strength, and considerably less accurate than twin sabers... I'm personally skipping out on them until I see something worthwhile from the weapon class, because the shop stuff sucks.

LS Dec 1, 2006 05:21 PM

My question still stands, is it required to buy the retail version of this game to play online? or is there a chance that i could download a copy and just pay for my account. (Still asking if PC version is okay)

Shonos Dec 1, 2006 05:36 PM

Yes, you can just download the game and then pay the online fee to play. There's no CD key or any kind of check. Not sure why but hell they're still getting money anyways so maybe they don't care.

LS Dec 1, 2006 07:05 PM

oh awesome, where can i register then? O_o this is gonna be fun i always wanted to play PSO back on DC too bad that time i had crappy connection and all that.

Manny Biggz Dec 1, 2006 08:29 PM

www.playsega.com to register.

If A rank spears are TENORA works only like it appears to be in Parns post..I'm not using spears then. I don't like tenora brand weapons. They run out of PP way too fast..

Lacerta Dec 2, 2006 01:22 AM

I might go for a Guntecher... I think. I want to be able to buff myself (if we ever get them)

What about you Daravon? =p
