Requesting a recap of our HP

The unmovable stubborn Aug 5, 2008 04:22 AM

Currently:

Argumentus 31 (w/ 13 surges)
Fescue 26 (w/ 6 surges)
Gabriel 26 (w/ 7 surges)
Motsognir 22 (w/ 7 surges)

with Bob, of course, completely unharmed.

Fluffykitten McGrundlepuss Aug 5, 2008 10:56 AM

Of course. No bullets can harm me for my wings are like a shield of steel!

I do only have a few surges to start with and fuck all HP so you'll forgive me for choosing discretion over honour I'm sure...

No. Hard Pass. Aug 5, 2008 08:28 PM

I'm going to cave in your head for making me fall down that fucking hole.

Zergrinch Aug 6, 2008 05:05 AM

Kudos to Pangalin if you made that puzzle up all by yourself!

South! South! Go South for lulz!!!

Zephyrin Aug 6, 2008 09:52 AM

It's not a puzzle, it's a deathtrap. =\

Little Brenty Brent Brent Aug 6, 2008 10:08 AM

A hilarious deathtrap!

Zephyrin Aug 6, 2008 01:11 PM

Just a question, not judging or even commenting on your work, Pang, but I was wondering if there's a chapter in the dungeon master guide that gives tips on narrating.

Bradylama Aug 6, 2008 01:42 PM

Why yes. Yes there is.

Well the puzzle-to-death ratio would have been greatly improved maybe

if the party had some kind of specialist

in detecting traps

Zephyrin Aug 6, 2008 11:24 PM

Apathy is a bitch.

FatsDomino Aug 7, 2008 08:12 AM

PANG PANG CAN MY HALFLING WARLOCK BE BEHIND DOOR NUMBER TWO THREE AND ON FIRE? I CAN CHECK FOR MORE FIRE DOORS. I CAN DO THIS WELL. SO WELL. I WILL BE THE SUN BURNING IN THE DARKNESS FOR ALL TO SEE. I CAN FEEL THE COSMOS.

The unmovable stubborn Aug 7, 2008 08:31 AM

But door number 3 is my best favoritest door and I would not replace it for any reason, no indeed

FatsDomino Aug 7, 2008 08:33 AM

DRAT! DOUBLE DRAT! :argh:

Zephyrin Aug 7, 2008 09:42 AM

On another note, are you rolling passive checks on us to notice these traps? Do I have to declare that I'm looking for traps all the time? Are we following this "Take 10" rule?

I haven't read the chapter on classes, so I'm not sure about rogue specifics.

The unmovable stubborn Aug 7, 2008 10:07 AM

Yeah, I just do passive take-10s. Most traps are in the 15-20 range, though, so nobody other than Scary Bob is going to passively notice any of them.

FatsDomino Aug 8, 2008 07:28 AM

How dreadful. If only there were another giant yellow slime to clean this mess up tidy.

Bradylama Aug 8, 2008 12:34 PM

oh shiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

Sarag Aug 8, 2008 01:52 PM

A bunch of dead bodies and an ominous room? Don't worry, it's probably less deadly than another puzzle.

The unmovable stubborn Aug 8, 2008 08:50 PM

Quick poll:

* Bigger map images?

* Smaller map images?

* Don't care?

knkwzrd Aug 8, 2008 09:00 PM

Do you mean bigger as in showing a greater range or bigger as in more-zoomed-in?

The unmovable stubborn Aug 8, 2008 09:30 PM

Well, both, I suppose. Really just looking for a ballpark of how-big-is-too-big in terms of filesize. I mean, IDEALLY I'd like to show the whole party at full-res, which at this particular moment would look like this (click for browser-crashing hugeness)

Now, obviously this is a little bit much but I was just thinking things could be a LITTLE less tiny and cramped provided nobody objects.

This is probably just me being a vain craftsman, but eh. Thought I'd ask.

Zephyrin Aug 8, 2008 11:45 PM

I like it the way you posted the last map currently. But you shoud use your discretion as to what moments need bigger maps and which ones need smaller maps.

Perhaps set the file attributes to the same dimenions each time, but zoom in and out according to what's relevant?

knkwzrd Aug 8, 2008 11:51 PM

I'd be cool with the very large map so long as it was hidden in a spoiler or one of those I-don't-know-what-they're-called-arrow-doodads.
